1. Seems to be a good following in Herts...going to the game today, but perhaps a follow up thread about starting a ''Yellow Herts'' group in due course could get something going, particularly if it means more of us getting to games next season. Was a member of Capital Canaries last season but couldn''t really make the most of that. (Based in East Herts.)
2.
Honestly, ive just farted and followed through. This match is really getting to me. HA HA.
Quality!
3. I want to do inflatables, fancy dress, promotion party, the lot,BUT, we''re not there yet, so I''ll keep to my practice by wearing my colours with pride and singing and clapping till it''s done....then hopefully having that party back at Carra.
4. As I said in earlier post, this publicity plays into QPR''s hands and serves to scare the crap out of the FA, whether this is a ''dark arts'' venture between QPR and the popular sports media, who have nothing to talk about today other than Tindall and Beckham at some wedding, only time will tell.
5. There''s nothing new in this story and I suspect that if it hasn''t been orchestrated by the QPR media machine, then they will be very grateful. Whether QPR are guilty seems to be the most irrelevant part of this affair, and what is most critical is whether the FA have the bottle to dish out a credible punishment. This story has been out of the spotlight for the past few weeks because, I suspect , that the QPR media influencers have been successful in convincing the public that this case will result in a fine only. This has enabled QPR to press on and seal promotion, first job done! It suits QPR now to scare the crap out of the FA against docking points on the back of a story that the whole league would go into meltdown, with multimillion litigation, no chance of drawing up next season''s fixtures, havoc with close season transfers due to clubs not knowing which league they''ll be in and failing to attract players because of that uncertainty. So on the face of it, good news for Norwich and Cardiff, but don''t take your eyes off the ''dark arts'' of a club that have incredibly wealthy and influential owners at the helm.
6. Going to game from East Herts...come and join us!
7. Miss Hools and I will be there! We are going to need a massive Yellow Army turn out. Spoke to Andy Crofts at the Away Supporters Party on Monday evening and there was no doubt in his mind that we are going to win this one. But let''s make sure and enjoy this one with at least 3000 there on the night. It''s going to be emotional. Portman Rd was absolutely sensational, Simeon''s completion of his hat trick on Monday reduced me to tears, so can''t wait to wrap this up at Fratton Park, ready for a Champagne party at Carra on the 7th, which is my wedding anniversary...the script is already written, get on down to Pompey!
8. Thanks for the discussion guys! I for one had lost my way with this case and had dismissed it as not having any relevance to us due to the belief that a points deduction was off the menu. Whether optimistic or not, you make a good case for wider optimism that this could be an end of season bombshell.
9. What''s the time? ...5 past Ipswich I believe!
10. Now off to the KC...fantastic looking day!...Safe journey to all the Yellow Army. OTBC
11. I didn''t boo, but I was pretty disappointed with Tuesday night''s result and performance. The difference between teams at this level is very often only a case of who is more motivated. With that slim margin of difference I think it is quite understandable how fans reacted. Expectation truly is a ''monster'' as PL has acknowledged, but if that is what pushes the team on, including the "fear of failure" as PL has also mentioned, then a gentle reminder through a muted crowd and a few grumbles is not a bad thing. The crowd isn''t stupid, it reacts to what it sees on the pitch...it can then carry the team a bit further if they are playing well, or at least showing commitment, effort and enterprise. There is a marked difference in home and away fans. Away fans are eternally optimistic, it''s a level of commitment shown to the team that presents a greater challenge and personal risk. Odds are generally against an away win, so the thought of a long disappointing journey home after the game keeps us singing a bit louder and longer, despite what the level of performance is. Don''t get me wrong, we have fantastic support at home, but a home crowd can lack a bit of patience when they have become used to a much better product that has been our brand of football over the last 18 months. If your favourite restaurant serves up poor food one night, you don''t abandon it, but unless you are a complete mug, you say something to make sure things improve.
12. Thanks Michael you were a top bloke for us, a real leader. Good luck with your Scunny career mate.
13. The Jarrold will be on fire next Tuesday night...I hope!
14. Any of the clubs up around us could give you the jitters if you spend too much time studying them. Are our lads bothered by anyone of them? I don''t think so ...its the oldest cliche but we really must just focus on the next game...and for us fans that means getting as many of us down to Selhurst on Saturday and making it mega loud.
15. A lot is made of a rivalry between us and Leeds on here, but who thinks it really exists in the consciousness of the bulk of Leeds fans? Yes, it was neck and neck for a while last season between us and we should have had better on our last visit to Elland Rd, but I don''t think we would get any more thought than the rest of the other clubs up around us at the moment...yes they will be p#ssed off to get beaten by us, but we are never going to have serious history between us...even with 3000 of us there on our next visit. To be fair, they are just another club to us, no more and no less than the likes of Scunthorpe or Reading.
16. The guy reminds me of the smaller of the Chuckle brothers, but not as funny...and the Chuckle brothers were seriously not funny!
17. I expect us to field a very different team for the FA Cup 3rd round...Lambert will be able to defend this on the basis of his need to give squad members a run out and give a much needed rest to senior players...like Hools not making the team today and Grant Holt''s substitution. That having been said I fully expect us to beat Orient whoever plays
18. Warnock starts to throw his teddy when he comes under pressure...QPR were found out yesterday and hence his nonsense...we made them look quite ordinary and just a shame that our finishing didn''t punish them.
19. Warnock has remained far too calm and balanced in his after match comments so far this season, (smug colin!) ...because he knows that he has had more than his fair rub of the green...and as he said himself, QPR''s position has flattered them. I didn''t think they looked all that when we went to Loftus Road and but for an uncharacteristic penalty miss by Hooley, we''d gave taken all the points that day. This is the start of the pressure for Warnock and I think he sees in Norwich a real threat to QPR''s automatic promotion, which must be an absolute must for his paymasters. Listen to his tongue getting even more spiteful as we move into the second half of the season. He is an amusing character when things are going his way, but he is also a very poor loser, who doesn''t know when to shut up when things turn against him.
20. He is never going to be a fill in for Holt, and I cant see him putting pressure on Martin for a place, but he looks like he can do a job physically on a back line, where the likes of Jackson would struggle. Like others have said, looks like he could be fitter, and with all that height should be able to get above most defenders, which he struggled to do yesterday. Like every new signing, needs to be given some time to settle and get the tempo and patterns of play of his new team. A sound but unremarkable start ...imho!
21. PL has persevered with Jacko but it is clear that he hasn''t got a lot to offer at this level. Methinks he may be off loaded sooner or later, with Olly given a loan spell somewhere. Chris Martin needs geeing up from time to time and I can see this being a good additional reason for bringing Wilbrahams in, competition and cover for either the front two. Incidentally, what is his current card points tally and do points get wiped when transfering? ...somehow doubt it!
22. Currently minus 2 in that part of London and expected to go down to minus 4...depends whether the sun can get out early enough as it is expected to get to 2 degrees tomorrow at best. I''d put money on it going ahead, a bit like Walsall last season, I''m sure they want this one for the revenue as a rescheduled will be a poorly attended midweek game by home fans.
23. Thanks Graham, will be watching that weather. It''s pretty cold just north of London at the moment.
