1. It''s funny how people remember things in different ways. I don''t remember Cam categorically stating anything. He used to post his opinion as his opinion, facts as facts and rumour as rumour. A refreshing change from those who post rumour as FACT! I think the thread Beaus was talking about was this :   Camuldonum wrote: For what it''s worth Shrewsbury are saying he was left limping in training and they won''t risk him. It''s the second time his ankle has played up since he returned to training - they pulled him out of a local friendly for the same reason. The club are insisting that you have not yet asked their permission to speak to him. It may well be that you plan to do so but they are saying you have not done so far. They also say they have not had an approach from Notts County - a rumour that is also doing the rounds. I would point out that when they were asked about Colchester''s approach they confirmed it immediately and said the club had been told Holt is not for sale. For the record the Chairman/Owner says he would not even consider any approach under around £400k - roughly double what they paid for him. It is possible, of course, that Shrewsbury are keeping it under wraps but they are normally very, very open and straightforward. Fair enough Cam, but did you not post this afternoon that you''d spoken to their press officer who told you that he was due to take some part in their game tonight? I have been very sceptical about this all day, but I''m starting to believe that something''s going on. @RobinINCSC on Twitter   Posts like this were informative. OK I agree that if you had the time you could google all the news sites and come up with the same information. But it was handy having someone do that for you even if he was a fake, which I don''t believe was ever proved. Journos only have access to iunformation out there. They are not privvy to everything else.
 2. To be be fair, I noticed that he ran off and attempted to celebrate the goal on his own. Unfortunately he didn''t have enough pace and his team mates caught up to join in. I really don''t see how a player that slow is good enough to score goals in the Premier and he''ll be off in January.
 3. I don''t know! Dragging up old posts to show how wrong they were. Whatever next!! Oh.... I know... what about the posts where "ipswich are showing ambition...Evans... Keane... Scotland... wish we were more like that!"
 4. I feel for you Davo. We only win when all the little things go in our favour. Yesterday they went against us. That''s all the difference is. I still think you selected a well balanced six but it wasn''t meant to be.
 5.
I think it is a ridiculous stance. People have to make choices and if the choice is to play or watch football that is for them to decide. Sky and the premier league should embrace the technology they have to extend choice rather than reduce it.
Of course your right Keelan. It is freedom of choice. But I see the other side of it and view it from a different angle. The problem with carrying on as you suggest is that the Premier League becomes the only league that matters. The only footballers that matter will be those premier players from all over the world who earn oscene amounts of money. The only refs that matter will be those with premier refs with egos the size of Rooneys pay packet. And the rest of football, right down to district leagues, will have to like it or lump it.
 6.
Wards been a good centre back for us and is at least as good as Barnett and Whitbread. Crucially for him he is very popular with Lambert and for those of you who dont like the fact he doesnt tackle full on, hopefully you''ve watched the games this season closely enough and have noticed that basically any robust ''man and ball'' challenge in this division (wrongly in my opinion) unfortunately pretty much always ends in a foul being given.
I expect that''s where I''ve been going wrong Yellowbugle. But sometimes it''s difficult. The guy in front of me is up and down like a jack-in-the-box. And when the ball''s up the Riverend it''s hard enough to see who tackles who let alone what the ref gave a free kick for. (I usually question the refs parentage regardless.) I''m off to Goodison tomorrow but the view can be notoriously bad but I will try and pay attention. Honest Guv[Y]     Of course it could be you that sees Marilyn[8-|][;)]
 7. Don''t worry fonejack. A couple of top PUPs have picked this one. Looks a good selection[Y]
 8.

Now Tilly and Graham probably feel as though they''ve drawn the short straw in picking these weeks. Not only is there a reduced fixturelist but they''ve also both agreed to stay off it until their picks are safely sorted[B][N]
I have agreed to drink at Bayer until my picks are sorted Nutty so can you line me up a few drinks of that diluted Stella shandy you sell which i think is called Stella 4.[;)]
But what to do about Graham is a bigger problem Tilly.[^o)] His facebook page is a catalogue of alcohol related disasters[B][:O] We somehow have to keep him off it ready for the new year picks and I fear Stella 4 won''t do the trick.....   [;)]
 9. Great selections Davo. I really like these and it''s obvious how much effort you have put into picking the final six. Woking are away to Thurrock as I''m sure you realised. A great balance here buddy and only cruel misfortune can prevent another win this weekend.   I placed the bet with Stan James where the potential return is £50.37. (It was only £48.70 with bet365) Here are the details : -     Selection Price Linfield v Glenavon : Match Betting Linfield 2/13 AC Milan v Siena : Match Betting Ac Milan 1/4 Juventus v Novara : Match Betting Juventus 2/9 Wigan Athletic v Chelsea : Match Betting Chelsea 4/11 Charlton Athletic v Oldham Athletic : Match Betting Charlton Athlet… 4/7 Thurrock v Woking : Match Betting Woking 1/3 Total stake £10.00 Estimated return £50.37 Full stake £ 10.00 Full Estimated return £ 50.37     Linfield, Chelsea, Charlton and Woking all get us underway at 3pm tomorrow. The AC Milan kick off at 7:45. All things being well we will be undefeated going into Sunday when Juventus start at 2pm.   Good luck everyone [:)]
 10.

I think Leeds will get a win against Coventry tomorrow. Good luck everybody
I think Leeds are at home to Reading tomorrow rather than Coventry
Thanks GMF. Jellytot is away for the weekend but I just got a message to change her nap from Leeds to Peterborough who are playing Coventry this weekend.
 11.
Really not sure about Ward in the Prem, for two reasons. Notwithstanding his quality on the ball he has a tendency to switch off in games (alhtough that''s something that applies to most of our cntre backs!). However, my overriding concern is his tackling technique. Watch what he does when he''s run at one to one and you''ll see that rather than block tackle he always goes side on. He lost crucial 50/50s leading to goals in a number of games by trying to nick the ball rather than saying "I''m going to take everything here".
I don''t know about "switching off" I think sometimes an opponenents quality can make it look that way. But I think your tackling observation is spot on. Ward is an excellent footballer for such a big unit. His positional awareness would probably be one of his strongest suits. But interestingly when he was suspended last season it was his first ever. Apparently he''d never got to 5 yellows before. When asked about it he said that before he came to Norwich he rarely tackled!
 12. I''m offering Davo a pick from Greece. Panathinaikos with a home record of W4 D0 L0 F13 A4 should be too strong for Asteras who have an away record of W0 D0 L5 F1 A11.   Panathinaikos         v          Asteras          Home Win   Just a quick word about the next couple of weeks.   Next week I''ll open the thread as normal on the Wednesday. The matches we can pick from are those played on 26th and 27th. There is a reduced fixture list because most of Europe are on their winter break. Tilly will be making the final selections because I can easily contact him in the event of anything untoward happening with the messageboard over Christmas.   The following week the thread will again go up on the Wednesday for the matches on Saturday 31st and Sunday 1st Jan. Graham will be making the final selections for the same reasons. Again there is a reduced fixture list because of the winter break.   Now Tilly and Graham probably feel as though they''ve drawn the short straw in picking these weeks. Not only is there a reduced fixturelist but they''ve also both agreed to stay off it until their picks are safely sorted[B][N] I think that''s a wonderful sacrifice to make for the good of the thread so I hope all you PUPs dig extra deep to find the selections such a gesture deserves[:)]
 13. I think the point you are missing is the double standards involved. Good decent fans have been shafted by that club in recent years. Local taxpayers continue to be shafted by that club. Their players, like all players of similarly sized clubs, earn obscene amounts of money compared to many of those people the club has ripped off. It''s a strange situation over which to suddenly START to do the right thing.

 15. I used to view them as our rivals. I disliked them intensly as rivals but enjoyed that rivalry nonetheless. But now I intensly dislike them for what they are. For they have become a club firmly in the gutter.   I wonder how all those local businessmen who were paid 5p in the £1 are taking this news? Or the Council who are owed so much back rent after trying to help them out.   The scum have really become scum and the football league would be a better place if they were wound up.   I wonder if bluemike or chaval will be gracing us with their presence anytime soon?
 16. Anyway...   I''d like to extend the warmest Christmas wishes to Delia and MWJ. I''m so glad they didn''t take the free advice from here and show the ambition of selling to mucus evans.   But don''t forget Christmas is also the time to remember absent friends....   and there''s a fair few absent from this thread.
 17. Welcome Beth, great to see you posting on here[Y]   Norfolkchance... I''ll have to update it but will do it when I can.
 18.

But I also think she''s potty, not wealthy enough, arrogant and headstrong...and that can be dangerous.
Don''t you think Wiz, if the club paid back all the money she''d put in, plus interest, and the going rate for all the hours she''s worked over the last fourteen years, she would in fact be very wealthy? [:^)]
Maybe wealthy enough to invest some money into the football club[:^)]
 19.   "I was under the impression that it was common knowledge that Camuldonum was banned from this board. Furthermore, I was also under the impression that it was common knowledge that Camuldonum was in fact not the journalist he claimed to be?"   "Really!?!? Ooooooh now there''s a thing"   "But of course I have no need or want to know how he is, it will have no bearing on my life whatsoever." [;)]        Anyway McBly........   My ol'' buddy Lyphov Riley once brought a camel from one of the locals out in his little tax haven.   He asked the local "is the camel  male or female?"   "Don’t know" says the local, "very hard to sex a camel but if you ever find out can you come back and let us know" A few days later old Lyphov returns and says "Do you remember that camel you sold me, well it was a male"   "That is amazing" says the local, "how did you tell?" "Well, I was riding it to the shops the other morning and I passed a queue of people waiting at a bus stop. I distinctly heard one bloke say to the other, would you look at the pr*ck on that camel !"     Email sent BTW Ron.

A bit tangential, that one !   In that case, I''d agree with you.  It''s rather sad that the  only choice on offer as regards this particular thread is one between schoolyard-esque squabbling. and a "my mate''s girfriend''s auntie Flo''s dustbinman''s brother overheard someone in a pub saying........" type rumour.   Best move on, I fear ? Each to their own and all that. But your manky lime barrell has been discontinued......

 22.
I am far from the board''s Norris Cole and I know little of what goes on, the cliques and everything and I am often one of the last to find things out, if at all even.  However, I was under the impression that it was common knowledge that Camuldonum was banned from this board.  Furthermore, I was also under the impression that it was common knowledge that Camuldonum was in fact not the journalist he claimed to be?   But, like I say, what do I know[:^)]
Well now Slim. As someone who is often accused of being part of cliques and circles I wasn''t aware that Cam wasn''t the journalist he claimed to be. But then I don''t get taken in by all of this cliques and circle garbage. I find it''s normally used as a get out clause when a poster has been "owned".   Would you lot like me to email Cam and ask how he is?
 23. Greetings PUPs and welcome to week fifteen of the Rays Funds for FONCY season. This week we have we have Davo in charge and making the final selections. This is the third season Davo has been with us and in that time he has always been a great supporter of these threads. He has made 67 correct picks from 84. An overall strike rate of 80% which puts him right up there with the best. Davo drew the short straw last season when he made the final selections in the first week. The first week is the hardest week to pick because there’s absolutely no form to go on. I’ve been looking forward to him getting a proper turn ever since.   As always Davo will need all you PUPs to be on top form if he is to record our fifth win of the season. Don’t forget we are asking for your very best “nap” selection. The result that you think is most likely this weekend. Remember we can only consider matches that are listed by Bet365 for the final selections. This is imperative because I will be placing the bets there online. Bet365 website is here but you can just as easily check by using our old favourite odds checker.com. If you’re unsure ask on the thread and I’m sure one of us can help you. More great news from the academy this week. Our under 18’s followed up last weekend 3-0 defeat of Ipswich with a 5-0 win over Oldham to progress to the next round of the FA Youth Cup. But our interest in Oldham doesn’t end with that result. Because our very own Tom Adeyemi is on loan with the Latics and is having an excellent season. Earlier this month Tom scored a goal that helped Oldham through to the area final of the Paint Pot. So he’s within touching distance of a Wembley final. And this week he was part of an Oldham team who secured a trip to Anfield in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. I know that Oldham rate Adeyemi very highly and he is gaining valuable experience there. All us PUPs can feel really proud to know that we have contributed and are still contributing to this success. I know that Ricky Martin really appreciates the funds we raise on here. I’ll hand the thread over to Davo now. Remember there’s no pressure because we are all going to be doing our best to help you get your name in the Free Bet Hall of fame. We all stand together with the single aim of raising money for our great clubs academy. Good luck all you PUPs... take it away Davo ... the free bet is yours.......[:)].....   As always I leave you with Rays signature which now reads :- Carve their names with pride.Yankee,3,Fellas,3,P''boro,2,Mr Chops,2,NewYork, Inch High,3, Blahblahblah, NCFC_Shaun, 1st Wazzock, Fonejacker,3, Norfolkbroadslim, Norfolkchance1, Scooby,2, Trent Canary, Cosmic Twin, Graham Humphrey, Leedscanary, NcfcStar, Herman, Delia’s Devonshire Dirtbox, Lappinitup, yes Norfolkchance1 £1476 for the Academy,so far.
 24. But phone tapping AND posting on here....   Bring back Cam[Y]
Reading the paranoid drivel on here about BBC " left wing " bias is no different to listening to deluded yanks explaining that Obama is a Muslim communist . Dimblebore a socialist ? Yes , all those boot licking  , grovelling royal wedding commentaries on the BBC gave it away. Mark of a true socialist that. Some of you would only be happy if Norman Tebbit and Nick Griffin were reading the news.
Bring back Josef Stalin is what I say. He believed in democracy!
