1. We may now be heading for a similar league as Spain with two clubs dominating.   Spurs could be Valencia. Arsenal / Villa Real. Chelsea / Servilla. All having their seasons in the sun but never really challenging the top two.
2. When I was at Goodison a few years ago I heard the lottery sellers saying they had "Prizes as big as Phil Thompson''s nose". [:)]
3.
If McCarthy''s managerial skills were as extensive as his nose he''d be first in line for the England job.
Straight fight between him and Phil Thompson[;)]
4. And yet later Carters came back to build the Barclay, the Jarrold and the hotel.   Chase was never far away from controversy even in the successful times. I even attended an EGM at St Andrews Hall called by shareholders to get him out. He survived of course. Just as he survived all the protests until the last one. Out of the four of them the bare stats on google say he was the best. For me he was a lucky 4th. There''s so much more to the great history of our club than can be found on google.
5. Now that McCarthey''s gone Lambert''s  2.5 years here makes him the 7th longest serving manager of the Prem''s 20 clubs. And the 19th longest serving in all divisions!
6. Huge respect to the guy and he walked away with his head held high. Three seasons in the Prem for Wolves probably makes him their best manager for 30 years. It seems a bit strange to make that change now. The only way it would make sense would be if he''d lost the dressing room and I doubt that''s the case. It could well backfire on them. Blackburn sticking with Keane could be the difference.

8. ''scuse me canary_bird but did you used to be someone else on here?
9. Kevin Keelan.   Holt and Lambert can have one later.   Or we could just have our team and what''s in front of them leaving the statues to clubs with no future.
10.
City 1st - I''m getting a little tired of you constantly taking it easy on the Binners!! Never mind "robbing suppliers, cheating local businesses and defrauding the taxman" - they didn''t pay their bill to St. John''s Ambulance!!!!!!! To St John''s Ambulance for christ''s sake!! And as if that isn''t bad enough they never paid us for 75 quids worth of match programmes.
Can they be put into administration for being morally bankrupt?
11. Now which one of you is going to tell Holty he''s not playing[:^)]

14. Great post LDC.   It wasn''t just Lambert that had earned our trust but Holty too. And yet at the start of that past two seasons we had posters saying he wasn''t up to it.   Even after the odd defeat, like the one at Sunderland, "the terminally dim" were so loud that Lambert heard them. And criticised them. It seems he''s got away with it and if he has it will be the first time for a long time that''s happened. But I rather suspect that if we had a bad run of results that criticism will be brought out from the back of the toy box and get chucked out of the pram with everything else.
15. Wonder if they''d give me odds about Pompey still finishing above them even with a 10 point deduction?
16.

This is still the best Norwich board which is graced with many good posters. Otherwise why would posters like Purple hang around for so long?
In the 1956 financial crisis (when we couldn''t pay a bill of £500!) it was fortunate in the extreme that a figure as as dynamic as Arthur South was Lord Mayor and so able to rally round the city, and the county, to save the club.
I love that man! Didn''t he almost have it all.....   Here''s a treat for you Purple....   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0huGBMRq1YA   Now was Sir Arthur lucky all this happened a few months before the Bradford fire and that we had enough insurance to replace that decrepit old stand? Or do you make your own luck? Or did the singing plasterer really leave that fire on?   Whatever Sir Arthur''s the star of this little show as he challenges Norwich Union to get payin'' up! And what of the health and safety as the guy starts removing the roof hardly before the fire is out.
17.
There`s a why isn`t Holt being done for racism thread, they`ve obviously been looking on here!
They look on here Thef. But they no longer log in to say hello. Haven''t seen one for months. Visiting scummers are becoming as rare as hen''s teeth.
18. I doubt he was good enough when he was under 23. Francis Jeffers is the same age and was all the rage back then in the Under 21''s. It''s how good players are now that should determine who plays for the senior side.
19. Brilliant effort by you PUPs this week. 37/47 (2 void) 82% picked correctly. Between us we gave Pete 23 different selections (2 void) and 16 won a strike rate of 76%. Pete got 5/6 with just Barca letting him down. So close this week but we’ll be winning again soon. Here’s the latest league table showing those PUPs with over 50% correct from at least 50% available weeks. The dotted line is the cut off point for the “Fab 40”. Those finishing above that line will make the picks next season : - Mr. Bump 22-23 96 Trent Canary 22-23 96 Nrflkbroadslim 21-22 95 Jed Exodus 21-23 91 Kathy 21-23 91 Statto 21-23 91 Til 1010 21-23 91 Beauseant 20-23 87 Dogger 20-23 87 Fonejacker 20-23 87 Herman 20-23 87 Hughesy 19-22 86 NCFCStar 19-23 83 Legend Iwan 15-18 83 Inch High 18-22 82 Davo 16-20 80 Fellas 12-15 80 NWC 15-19 79 methcanary 11-14 79 Chelle 18-23 78 Mister Chops 18-23 78 Yankee Canary 18-23 78 PurpleCanary 17-22 77 Scooby 17-22 77 SWP=PMRF 17-22 77 Devon 16-21 76 Twitchy 13-17 76 SD Pete 15-20 75 Cityangel 17-23 74 Mandie Moo 16-22 73 Newyorkcanary 16-22 73 Shack Attack 16-22 73 Jellytot 13-18 72 Graham 15-21 71 Diesel Doris 16-23 70 GMF 16-23 70 I''m A Banana 16-23 70 Shyster 9-13 69 Leedscanary 15-22 68 Excited Canary 13-19 68 ---------------------------------------------------------- Duncan 10-15 67 1st Wazzock 15-23 65 Cosmic Twin 15-23 65 Ginger Pele 15-23 65 Mear Kat 15-23 65 nutty nigel 14-22 64 Hissing Sid 13-21 62 Muddy funster 10-17 59 Boyo 11-19 58 Gregt 11-19 58 Norfolkchance1 13-23 57
20.
NN - Not sure if and when I will be able to make it on next week, if not then Ill have Anderlecht to beat Westerlo. I expect this will change if I make it on and get the chance to do a bit more digging. Ta. Unlucky Pete, tough week.
Thanks Tom. It''s logged[Y]
21.

They''re just looking to try and justify why it is that they were beaten fair and square by Norwich, yet can beat (or at least outplay) Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea, Spurs etc.   It''s much easier to say it''s because we were overly physical than to say that we were better than them on the day and tactically superior. Ultimately, this will be very good for them, I sensed a bit of arrogance about them pre-game, a "we play how we want, what are you going to do about it? Your not good enough to stop us". Once they drop that and go back to just setting about teams in the way they have done for most of the season they''ll be fine.
A very good point and, I think, borne out by some of the Swansea players'' rather unfortunate post game remarks. Having been told that they are the British Barcelona on an almost weekly basis by a slavering media I think they''ve bought into their own publicity and see it as somehow unfair that we haven''t played in a manner that suited them. It will be interesting to see whether other teams will now try to be more aggressive against them and , if so, how the delicate little Welsh flowers cope.
Hmmmmm[^o)]   Good points Beaus..   Could THEY be this season''s Blackpool??   Stranger things have happened.
22. I agree Pete. But he''s not likely to say that Lambert is far superior to him. He''d rather blame his shortcomings on his own players than admit that.
23. I don''t really care what the opposition journos or MOTD pundits have to say about us. We don''t want condescending praise. We aren''t plucky little Blackpool.
