1.

Has someone deleted a couple of posts from this thread? One was from a friend of James saying he''d been sacked just before Xmas and one was from me asking him why he''d been sacked?
I saw that too CA. Will the mods kindly explain why they saw it neccessary to remove a fairly innocuous post from a new poster?
I replied to that first time poster, my reply was in no way out of order, but I never saw it on the board and the other post disappeared.
 2.

I''m not impressed with Smith but obviously Glen is...................so thats good enough for me.
Yeah Wiz.. but Glen is impressed with Donkerty.... in fact he used the word ''outstanding''..... A bridge too far?
I thought that as soon as I had posted it Nutty, but I''m certain that if Taylor was here, then Donkerty would be where he belongs, on his arse on the bench!. Definately a bridge too far for me.
Well it''s interesting that when Roeder had Shackell, Taylor and The Doc all available it was Shax on the bench. Do you think he has been outstanding or are you another one who believes that Roeder says things in public when he thinks the opposite in private. Not lies of course, just a kind of blind faith where posters can say how well Roeder is doing without losing face. I would suggest Roeder sees things in The Doc that pass you by.
 3.
Haven''t been on here since Christmas Eve and if ever there was a game to illustrate the point of this thread it was Charlton at home who we slaughtered 1-1.
You are right Rudolph. But the ''Flat Earth Society'' would still have you believe we would have slaughtered them by a lot more than 1-1 if we had another centere half.
 4.
I''m not impressed with Smith but obviously Glen is...................so thats good enough for me.
Yeah Wiz.. but Glen is impressed with Donkerty.... in fact he used the word ''outstanding''..... A bridge too far?
 5. Greetings Pink Un Pickers..... alright [Y] Another difficult week by the looks of things. The only one of the Premiership top four with a home game are Chelsea who entertain Newcastle. This time of year should see the richer clubs huge squads prove to be an advantage and with the geordies struggling at the moment a home win looks on the cards here. Chelsea V Newcastle    Home win. Good luck Lappinitup [Y] I''m sure you''re gonna be Nappinitup... And Dixmar will be Crappinitup... while we''re all  wrappinitup for the academy........  Not ''arf [Y] That''s right.... hold tight... stay bright [H] Mods.. could this be a sticky again please because there are two ''Free Bet Freds'' on page one at the moment and it could get confusing... ta [Y]
 6. I think the real problem was that we missed Fotheringham. He has been instrumental in our change of fortune and we don''t have a replacement for him in the squad similar to the Safri situation last season. That''s why, for me, the two priorities in the transfer window are a midfielder who can pass the ball and a forward who can score goals. I would love Taylor too because we have no cover if we lose one of our centrebacks either, but he is not the be all and end all of our needs right now and I would hate to see us blow too much money on him.
 7. Christmas Greetings Pink Un Pickers.... Alright [Y] Good to see you posting fit and posting Devon [Y] Now I see that one of our pickers selected Chesterfield this week! What a surprise that was to me [:O] I thought you still had nightmares about Chesterfield Arrdee![:''(] For those who weren''t here at the time this is what happened last time Ray tried to select Chesterfield............. http://new.pinkun.com/cs/forums/1018303/ShowPost.aspx Now I thought we''d see the mountains tumble[8] before Arrdee had anything to do with Chesterfield again! [;)] Happy Christmas to all you special Free Bet Fredders [*][<:o)][B][G] That''s right.... hold tight... stay bright [H]
 8. I agree with this Rudolph just like I agreed when you posted a similar thing in August. http://new.pinkun.com/cs/forums/1011657/ShowPost.aspx I would definitely prefer Pattison to sign above Taylor but obviously I would prefer both. Another striker would be the icing on the cake because even with all the water that has gone under the bridge since your August post scoring goals is still the problem and not the defence. What really amazes me is that so many people still don''t see this. Happy Christmas Rude old [B]
 9.
Now now Nutty, no need for sarcasm!!
Sometimes it just can''t be helped [;)] Roeder has continually said that he has been backed by the board, will be backed by the board, that City''s offer for Taylor was a good one and that he wouldn''t be upping it. It''s like posters don''t believe him but don''t want to call him a liar so they say he has been sucked in by the boards spin. Now I am pretty sure that Roeder is way too  clued up and experienced to be sucked in by celebrity chefs and the like. My personal favourite last week was after posting on here how Roeder thinks that since he has been here Doherty has been outstanding whenever he has played - I was told, in all seriousness, that Roeder has to say that in public! Sometimes there is a need!!! Happy Christmas Gazza [B]
 10. So it was you that stole my digger Mello, don''t forget there''s a hole in the bucket[;)] Happy Christmas! [B]
 11.
Very good nutster......I also remember when Gazza Doherty was player of the season. George Best was sober. Iwan Roberts was overweight and unpopular. Wee Paul McVeigh was the darlin'' of the Barclay. Nigel Worthington was, err - Nigel Worthington. Delia was the supreme saviour - and Neil Doncaster was a footstool for Gordon Bennett.......Oh, and Skipper was the cabin boy......and England won the World Cup. Go get your personal JCB nutster......and dig up a few more......use the large bucket......and dig deep.[|-)]
Well alright moody! [:P] I was just sayin'' !! Now I didn''t know much about Barry Skipper except what I have read on here which is why I was surprised by his sudden popularity of late. I also know nothing about Michael Foulger so I used the biggest bucket I could find and dug as deep as it would go and it seems nobody else does either. But, as Babes points out to me ''there''s a hole in my bucket'' so maybe it''s true that board members should remain anonymous [:|]
 12. He may have said that Mr Chops but apparently the board have lied to him and the only movement in January will be Roeder walking out like Martin O''Neill did when he realises that the funds aren''t really available. So now I don''t know what to make of it all so I guess I will have to wait and see.
 13. Q. What comes in pints? A. Elephants?!?!?  Wot no beer [B]
 14. Barry Skipper is not popular on here Bobert..... http://new.pinkun.com/cs/forums/636728/ShowPost.aspx But then again maybe he is bad boy turned good all of a sudden....
 15.
A Very Merry Christmas to you and yours, my friend. OTBC
And a Merry Christmas to you Bly, and Mr Carrow, Mello, SOB and CJF because I have enjoyed our parts in this thread. How about making an appearance on the ''Free Bet Fred''?
 16.

Nutty said: We look on Duncan Forbes (a true city legend I might add) as being everything Gary Doherty isn''t, whereas if you were to look a bit harder at the present and remember a bit more from the past you would realise that''s not really the case.
Ipso facto. Doherty is as good as Forbes. Doherty is good enough to help get us up into top tier and help to keep us there. Doherty is good enough to become a true legend. That is your logic, Nutty, whether you like it or not. But if you want to continue what UI and many others consider your illogically persistent defences of both the current NCFC board and Gary Doherty, that is your right and privilege as a free citizen in a democracy! And as a man of Norfolk. But you wouldn''t pass an exam in logic. However, if Doherty does become a true legend I am sure we will all be very happy because no doubt the team will have achieved, and you will have turned the rules of logic upside down!! And funnily enough, a I do actually hope that you are right about him. A Very Merry Christmas to you and yours, my friend. OTBC
Nasty, nasty. Did anyone say Doherty was as good as Forbes. Don''t try and shift the focus. You should be ashamed. Quite frankly, I am very disappointed in you and I think you should withdraw your comment. Do you remember posting to me like this after illogical posters made it look as though Roeder tells lies? Pot - Kettle? And you should know whether I am right about Doherty.. unless of course you have never seen him play. Ipso Facto Green Grow The Rushes O!
 17. Greetings Pink Un Pickers..... alright [Y] It looks a real toughie again this week so we are lucky to have our top man Goreleston ''Gentleman'' Jim on the case[Y] I''m sure he will turn it into a real ''Seaside Special'' [H] I''m not really confident and the best I can find is Alloa V Berwick Rangers for a Home win. Is this gonna be the third win for the  ''Pink Un Pickers'' who are quite possibly the only football messageboard community raising money for their clubs academy in the whole world... ..... Not ''arf [Y] Good luck Gorleston ''Gentleman'' Jim[Y] That''s right.... hold tight... stay bright [H] Mods - I never ask for much but I am asking now.. please could this be made a sticky until Saturday... Ta [Y]
 18.

If we were a yoyo club we would want more, if we were a mid-table premiership club we would want more, if we were top 6 we would want Champions league and if we had that we would want the title. There''s nothing wrong with that, it''s part of being a fan to have those ambitions. If you dare to dream you will suffer disappointments but that''s part of being a fan too. The FA Cup starts in a fortnight... are you dreaming SOB.... because I am.
true, but our performance since the promotion season has been dismal at best.  Hence why we are 4th bottom.
At no point have I ever argued with that fact CJF. But I have still enjoyed supporting my club and going to games. The beauty of football is you never know what to expect and that is why all fans dream. Realists left the ground at 4-1 against Boro.. the dreamers stayed and for once were rewarded.
 19. SOB - If you don''t enjoy going why bother? Nobody said we shouldn''t want success, do you think I don''t want success? Nobody said we shouldn''t enjoy our great history and I share my memories on here as much as anyone and more than most. I don''t deny past glories, I have enjoyed them. Wembley Cup Finals, FA Cup Semi''s, European games, three Championships, challenging at the top of the Premiership, I have seen them all right from the mid sixties to now. But I still enjoy the now, I enjoyed Worthingtons championship as much as Saunders'' in 1972. I enjoyed the Play Off final as much as the Tottenham League Cup Final, I even enjoyed going to Blackpool a few weeks ago and I will enjoy going to Sunny Scunny on Saturday. The whole point of my sig is that some posters on here polish up the best bits from the past and leave the rest to rot in the dustbin. A few months ago I posted about the disgraceful zigger zagger chant directed at Geoffrey Watling in the 60''s but nobody remembers that. We look on Duncan Forbes (a true city legend I might add) as being everything Gary Doherty isn''t, whereas if you were to look a bit harder at the present and remember a bit more from the past you would realise that''s not really the case. When people post about the present it''s fashionable to moan about everything even to the point where there''s more kudos in scoring points against our great club by using our deadliest rivals. And yet the gulf between the two clubs was probably at its biggest in the late 70''s and early 80''s. There isn''t even any certainty that they will finish above us this season and they certainly didn''t look as good as us when we played them a few weeks ago.
 20.

Why are there so many binners on this board now? I would never in a million years wish them luck[*-)]  I think that they are really secret NCFC fans who have not come out yet. We should offer them our support in coming out as it must be hard for a binner to admit there true feelings.
I don''t object to friendly polite Binners (and fans of other clubs) like Lucy coming on here, in fact as far as I''m concerned they are most welcome, but any micky-taking abusive binners can get lost. I think Binners and others (we8wba, Happy Hammer Andy etc) like our board because you can have a sane, decent level of discussion on here (sometimes!). I''ve only found two Binner boards, twtd and their equivalent of  the pink''un and they were both shockingly poor, so you can understand some of them coming on here. Are NCFC fans among the most well-read and literate of any in the country?
And we are the only board with the famous ''Free Bet Fred'' [;)]
 21.
I wouldn''t rely too much on player sales, we sold Ashton, Earnshaw, Green and Co...................we''ve never seen a penny of that going on top players yet!.[A]
That''s obviously because Earnshaw wasn''t a top player until we sold him then [*-)]
 22.

There is no pot mate. We don''t have any money to spend. We may get a few extended loans but unless the Turners agree to put up some more cash I can''t see us actually paying out for anyone.
There must be something else you are accusing Roeder of telling porkies!!!
No no no Chicken, you don''t understand, Roeder doesnt tell porkies, he has just been taken in by the boards spin. Just like he doesn''t really believe Doherty has been outstanding, he just say''s that in public because he has to, in private he believes he is sh*t. He will see the light in January and walk! [*-)][;)]
 23.
I shall be going I think it will be ground number 77 fro me.
I''m going but it''s only ground number 69 for me Blacko. So it''s anyway up in Sunny Scunny [H]
 24.
Merry Xmas (and if that''s politically incorrect, then I most humbly apologise profusely in advance). But let''s agree on something and wish all City fans across the spectrum A VERY HARRY NEW YEAR. [<:o)] OTBC
Christmas is a magical time of year and these posts remind me of Charles Dickens ''A Christmas Carol''. But where as dear old Ebeneezer, just like your good self, pleads with the Ghost Of Christmas Past not to leave he actually manages to stay awake long enough to be visited by the other two ghosts. It seems you fall into a contented sleep after ''The Ghost Of Canaries Past'' visits, dreaming of those happy days where you remember those Boards of years gone by and their open cheque books. Deep in your slumber you remember Duncan Forbes striding gracefully across our back line snuffing out all dangers Rio Ferdinandesque. If you just stayed awake a little bit longer you would meet the ''Ghost Of Canaries Present''. He would take you to watch Gary Doherty, a player you have wronged. He would show you an international footballer who wears the famous yellow shirt with pride and who has been the best defender at our great club for the last three seasons. He would make you watch him defend rather than form an opinion on style. Then on to Aunty Delia''s where you would see someone who cares for the club as much as the rest of us and he would show you how she has a greater understanding of the pressures and problems of competing at the level we aspire to than most of us on here. If there''s time he would take you to see Glen Roeder''s christmas and show you a man who chooses his words carefully in order to speak the truth and leave people in no doubt he is genuine, the real deal in fact. If you are lucky you may stay awake long enough to meet ''The Ghost Of Canaries Yet To Come''. This is the one all of us would like to meet. If we could see the future we would know for sure which posters had it spot on and which were misguided. I would like to meet ''The Ghost Of Canaries Yet To Come'' but not at the expense of  ''The Ghost Of Canaries Present''. Happy Christmas BlyBlyBabes... we could drink a toast but you need to check out your wine glass, I think there''s a hole in it because it''s never even half full [D]
