1.

Hi all very disappointed that we didn''t get Paul Jewell as I hoped and towards the end believed, but after some thought and the way Glenn conducted himself, I''am well happy sure he will do a good job. Anyway to the news Nigel Pearson has just checked in to Dunston Hall (fact) so a great no.2 in place by the looks of it.
So tell us more, do you work there, were you just drinking there or did you hear from someone, who knows someone who saw him there?
Bet you''re a copper [;)]
 2.

So in the last week we''ve had : Dumbing down by lefty Labour - CHECK. National service for immigrants - CHECK. Perils of employing North African Muslims - CHECK. You are Richard Littlejohn and I claim my £20.
you forgot "David Strihavka - CZECH".
And queen to kings bishop2 - CHECK mate [<:o)]
 3. Thats not really how I remember it Jimmy500. I thought Geoffrey Watling brought Chase''s shares and then later that summer a board director called Martin Armstrong invited Delia and MWJ to join the board by investing .5m each. Of course they had both been fans for many years before that despite what people say on here. I think it was 2 years between their first investment and Watling selling them his contrlling interest. Even so I don''t think it was a case of Delia and MWJ bullying him into selling, I believe he sold because he loved the club and thought it was the right thing to do. I posted a lot of stuff from that time on this thread:- http://new.pinkun.com/cs/forums/948584/ShowPost.aspx I don''t think Gordon Bennett would be happy to see where this club is at now, so much progress off the field but we are even worse on the field than we were in those days. Maybe Glen Roeder will be the man to get the football team back on track we can only hope so. And maybe the Turners will be the people to get the clubs direction back but I guess we can only hope that too. I just wish we had someone like Gordon Bennett on our board today! However much anger and disappointment we are feeling today doesn''t mean we should try to re-write history.
 4.
Can anybody help? Not being much of a computer genius,( excuses out of the way ), but where can i find Norwich City fixtures and results for different seasons on the internet. Especially 67/68, as this is the year i was born ( April )?
Right here Bowensdad [co] http://www.norwichcity-mad.co.uk/footydb/loadlghs.asp
 5.
I should remind you what the Labour member for Norwich North, a Canary fan apparently, said about Norfolk people....
Don''t forget he''s redeemed himself by having a go at the board ... but now we have Roeder everything in the garden is redrosey once more.. bless him[&]
 6.
The day that damn woman quits this board and sells up, will be the day this club and fans unite and hope will at last return to the club.
I thought that was the speech you made about Worthington Wiz [:|]
 7.
http://www.soccerbase.com/managers2.sd?managerid=1897 Great record at other clubs, but certainly not the type of manager our dour Board would hire.
Just for the sake of an opinion... imagine the board were tied between Allen and Roeder and much to our dismay they called you to make the casting vote... which candidate would have had to live with the weight of CJF expectation?
 8.

I was wondering that this evening while watching on tv, not aware this morning that only Munby was there from the commentary on R Norfolk. Delia and co - you are a disgrace.....what is more important than showing a united front on an important occasion as the introduction of our new manager! Cynically I can only assume that Delia and Michael were not in favour of his appointment and wanted to retain Duffy. Is that too far from the truth? What must Mr Roeder think? Only ONE person from the board. Where was Doncaster? The Turners? Foulger. The board (whether split down the middle or not) must show a united front. If they took three weeks over deciding, then they had time to clear their diaries for this morning. Another nail in the coffin.
Now thats a heck of a conclusion to draw from the days events but there''s nothing to say you''re wrong Gazza. But there are other possible explainations though. How about a theory that the new board are going to be far less open than we are used to. This could be the beginning of the end of the days of meet the fan roadshows and all we have left is Roger "P.R." Munby earning his corn. The openess was Delia and MWJ''s idea but if you were the Turners would you carry it on in the present climate? The Turners have never had the opportunity to meet the fans in pleasant circumstances so the scenes at the AGM and recent roadshows is the only experience they will have had. Munby said that the interview process was different this time, it involved less people on the actual interviews and board members were kept away to remain more objective. I can only assume this change was down to the change in personnel on the board. It''s just a guess but if my guess is right would Delia still be a disgrace?
some of the board members "stayed away" who were they??? the Smiths and doomcaster? the turners??? if the Turners were part of the interview process and the Smiths stayed away then for me that means a change of ownership is on the horizon. the smiths dont give 2 hoots who gets the job as in a matter of months it wont be their club anymore... wonder if they''ll be there on sunday? jas :)
I don''t think they stayed away out of lack of interest jas.. I get the impression that the interview process was different and it''s just my guess that this was down to the Turners. I have a gut feeling that the Turners are instigating change from the inside, they have invested 2m so you would expect that wouldn''t you? I have no proof though... I''m not really delia''s cousin ya know[;)]
 9.
If your manager leaves you after a brief spell ,just point your finger across the pitch to Heartbreak hotel , you made us fans lonely , you made us so lonely ,we are so lonely, we could cry. That corner isn''t crowded, the desk clerk''s Alan Black , we have been so long from Carrow road we aren''t ever coming back ,you made us fans lonely ,you made us so lonely ,we are so lonely, we could cry . Now will do you Nutty ?[;)] arrdee.
If you are the songman arrdee[8][Z] then maybe I could be the songmans apprentice[8][&] Well, since I binned my ticket, I found a new place to dwell. Its down beside the barclay stand At heartbreak hotel. It makes me so lonely city, I get so lonely, But I will be city til I die. The barclays always crowded, You still can find some room. Where broken hearted city fans Do cry away their gloom. It makes me so lonely city, I get so lonely, But I will be city til I die. Friend Arto''s tears keep flowin, And the desk clerks Alan Black. Well they been so long from Carrow Road, They aint ever coming back. You make me so lonely city, I get so lonely, But I will be city ''til I die. Hey now, if you decide to boycott, And you got a tale to tell. Just take a walk beside the ground, To heartbreak hotel..
 10.
I reckon he will sign for a Club with ambition by the end of the week! While we get more F****** Prudence! Pathetic.
Did you have a bet this time? Be careful.. remember what could have happened if they''d let you put your shirt on Duffy [;)]
 11.
True everyones a gamble, but appointing a man with a teack record of 4 sackings for cocking up and 2 relegations is bizarre.
Many of us wanted to see a young ambitious manager appointed. My two choices to fit in with succesful appointments  from way back would have been Calderwood or Ince. But maybe that would have been a bigger gamble given the position we are in now. Yesterday you stated your beef was about the gamble and not the man. I would imagine this appointment was made with more emphasis on short term results than long term aims. In a way it''s less of a gamble than others could have been at this time.
 12.
The point is that the absence of most of the board (and particularly the CEO) is a very obvious departure from their normal practice.  The message it sends out is confusing and less than positive, to put it mildly.  Whether it''s "the way it should be done" or not is irrelevant.  I wonder if they''re refusing to talk to the local press?  The EDP broke ranks last week (not before time) with a critical editorial and also published adverse comments from local MPs.  Coincidental or not?
That could be right...or it could just be different board = different methods.. or just as likely something else! Tell you what though.. it didn''t take much to make the MP''s happy again... bless ''em!
 13. Mostly the ones that never go anyway although I believe 1st Wizard has a ticket and is boycotting [*-)] Oh.. and there can be no alternative trip to other games this week unless it''s the day before[N]
 14. After initially being a little disappointed I have warmed to this appointment throughout the day. Partly because having listened to what Roeder had to say I believe he will give us a change in direction and I am confident he can recognise where the improvements need to be made. I guess partly too because I am always optimistic and so want him to be succesful. It seems things have been done a different way by a different board. We may never know they chose Roeder in front of or how many, if any, of the fans favourites really wanted the job. Lets hope they back their man and that he can deliver the signings this club needs. I have been on and off this messageboard all day and wish I hadn''t. A lot of posters are angry or cynical or both, and to be fair so are the fans who have called and texted me. I told my daughter that Roeder had the job this morning and she just said ohhh noooo! But by lunchtime she had decided that he could be good and was moaning about "those muppets who had been texting Sky Sports News"! She now says she has a better feeling about Roeder than she did last year about Peter Grant. I can see how badly she wants him to be a success, just like so many of us do, and I am proud of her. Surely only the bitterest of City Fans really wants to see the guy fail.

 16.

We are meeting tonight to decide what to do. As a point of interest Arthur what do you think we should do?
It''s a comfort to me that dear old Arthur ignores your questions too Kathy. Good luck with your meeting tonight. I don''t see what any of us can do except to hope that the Turner factor sees a change in priorities from the board and that the Roeder factor sees an upturn in results from the team.
You have serious issues friend. What questions of yours have i ignored oh great one?
I''ve got even more issues now Arthur.. I am trying to work out how I can be your friend and Delia''s cousin.. still, I like a challenge [;)] Arthur - any manager appointment at any club is a gamble. Your choice, whoever that was would have been a gamble. If I am wrong then tell me who wouldn''t have been a gamble.
 17.

Now Arto , you are such a sweet darling , but did you think we were about to appoint Wenger ? or Jose ? or Jol ? Arto we are a poor Championship side . We have too deal from the "bargain rail ", all we can do is smile , hope the board has made the right appointment and wish for the best . If it all  turns out wrong ,well what ever happens I for one will have my beloved Norwich City to support for ever . If you want to support another team thats up to you . Theres a place that Arto go''s to cry his troubles away and they call it lonesome town where the hopeless team play. You can buy a team or two to last you all through the years and the only price you pay is a crate full of beer . Arto''s going down to lonesome town where the broken hearts stay, going down to lonesome town to fritter his money away . Thats a town of broken dreams the streets are filled with regret maybe down in lonesome town Arto can learn to forget .                   arrdee [;)] [:D] .
I can Elvis singing it now Ray. Not too excited about Roeder. Whoever they appointed would have a massive job on there hands. Have to agree with you though and am just hoping for the best.
I wonder of ''The King'' would follow it with Heartbreak Hotel [8][H] All any of us can do is hope for the best.
 18.
I dont believe in this True fans Crap. We are all fans just with different opinions.
Totally agree Snakepit, which was the point I was trying to make on the other thread when you were suggesting that real fans would stand up and be counted. I have had people on here tell me if I was a real fan I would boycott games or not renew my ticket. Those same people ''throw a benny'' at the merest hint that they are not real fans because they stay away. We are all fans just with different opinions - I do like the sound of that, I would love all posters to adopt your suggestion but I must admit to feeling a slight disappointment that I would never again be called a sheep, turnip or donkey again.
 19. I know I get sick of posters continually making out that they are the true fans!
 20. I see the MP''s are happy once more. Didn''t take much did it? Easily pleased?? Or what [:^)] Bless ''em[&]
 21.
How about sausages?.........
Very nice they are too cluckinoracaster or whatever you are called these days[H]
 22.

Laters then. This board is about opinions and mine is that we have been given a nice "Yes man" the board can push around and give minimal funding to. Nothing has changed and this appointment is to be a massive piece in the NCFC history jigsaw. It has Prudence and relegation written all over it. The board had a chance to prove the doubters wrong. For me they have confirmed my beliefs. They are tight clueless and the word Ambition does not even come anywhere near featuring in our Clubs Ethos. Get it in your heads "This board believe we have good players" Fact. Another fact is that they are bloody awful! I pity all you that will go watching sheppishly now as our Club fades away into the lower leagues and one by one you fade away too! A real fan would stand up and be counted against this regime!
100% correct!
Why is it you two can play the ''real  fan card'' but if someone was to suggest you weren''t real fans you''d throw a benny!

 24.
I do however, have a full white beard, just like my avatar
I don''t suppose you will get to post much between now and the end of December then Wiz [G][*]
 25.

Just warming up and getting some practice in should the board mess up again!. Fear not though, by Christmas ''rat boy''s position here would become untenable!.[:@]
I thought Duffy had it in the bag?
HaHaHa, From some email correspondance with Neil Doncaster he was in serious contention.  However I guess his managerial ability shined through these last 3 games!! [;)]
I hope Wiz didn''t lose too much money though CJF.. it''s hard enough being a City Fan right now without getting into hock with the bookies. Some other posters got away with it because apparently bet365 stopped taking bets! There are some lucky guys around today!
