So... how big does Carrow Road need to be?
Carlos Valderrama replied to LeJuge's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think the city stand only holds about 2000 odd so that is the weak link. Rip that down and build a stand capable of holding 8000 and we should be there or thereabouts. There is a fine line between having a stadium that is the right size and full, and having one that is too big and half empty. How many times did you watch Middlesborough/Sunderland/Sheffield Wednesday last season and think that the ground looked depressing. -
Can Holt cut it in the Prem?
Carlos Valderrama replied to I am a Banana's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
We had this exact same debate 12 months ago. Will he score goals? Not sure, I hope so. Will he be absolutely horrible to play against, hell yeah!!! -
Thomas Hitzlsperger
the millionnaire who got out of paying a speeding fine because he is technically ''unemployed''. if that were me, i''d make a donation to charity for the same amount - least he could do. doubt he''ll ever play for us, but i do rate him as a strong midfielder.
This is a joke comment surely!!! Why should he make a donation to charity as well. In fact what marks me is the £15 victim surcharge, there are no bloody victims. Far as I am concerned he got caught, got told off. Credit to CPS for showing some common sense. After all a millionaire footballer who commands at least a 6 figure salary is a good shout for the tax man and the local economy where he ends up. -
What a pillock.

People who want us to sign Upson
Carlos Valderrama replied to mikewalker's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Matthew Upson would not be ideal to ''just slot in'' if something happened to Ward or Whitbread. He would come here with such an ego he would expect to a starter in every game irrespective of form. Its a no from me on this one. I also hate pineapple on a pizza, its just wrong. But I do stand to wipe by virtue of the fact that I have a massive arse. -
All 3 of the promoted teams look doomed, good thing is so do 3/4 of the teams already there. I reckon we are in a straight fight with at least 6/7 sides.

A few free agents that I would take....
Carlos Valderrama replied to LeJuge's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Nigel Reo-Coker would be good, still youngish, experienced. Good footballer. Plus he has a great song.... -
Why does it need substance Joanna? Cant we wimply have footy related discussions anymore without having to justify and prove every last detail. For crying out loud. Bly, its an interesting point. They were great seasons to be a norwich fan and amongst the most enjoyable I have ever had watching the club. With a squad built in much the same way that Lambert is doing now. Young, hungry footballers with something to prove. For the first time in a long time I am genuinely excited about the season ahead. Its nice to have a buzz about the game again.

I personally would agree a price of about 250k with Peterborough, then right at the last second hike the price back up to 550k. As someone else stated, pot & kettle. Irritating isnt it Fry/McAnthony!!!!!!

Norwich to bid £2m for Forster..
Carlos Valderrama replied to Adam NCFC's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Decent signing. Ruddy was excellent last season but we did concede a lot of goals. Is it Ruddy or the defence, or the lack of a combatitive midfielder. Decent signing. Would certainly create a hunger and desire to fight for the place. -

Aaaaahhhhhh!!!! I still cant get the RB, help..... -
Who really cares what the Binners think. We are building a squad likely to stick together post relegation should the worst happen giving us the best chance of bouncing straight back. I think Lambert is building the type of team who will stick around. Not like Blackpool who are slowly being decimated by departure after departure.

35 POINTS ENOUGH?
Carlos Valderrama replied to The Voice Of Reason's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I have had a good look at the fixture list and I reckon we will finish with about 38/39 points. -
That Deloitte report on inward investment
Carlos Valderrama replied to BlyBlyBabes's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I too am morethan happy with how things are in the boardroom at the moment. In fact I have been for quite some time. The only thing I would say about outside investment is that it may be the only way we can keep Paul Lambert for any amount of time. A significant financial investment would enable us to fast track the stadium development and player recruitment programme. Stadium development being the absolute must. The thing that wrangles me is Cullum. If he is genuinely a fan with the best interests of the club at heart why doesnt he come and stick a few quid in. I am sure Delia would budge up to make a bit of room. As it is he just strolled up, kicked the proverbial hornets nest and buggered off again. Dont want the investment from the far east either. Would prefer someone UK based. -
But when you consider that Jordan Henderson is one of the best young midfielders in the country at the moment the price suddenly isnt that horrific. I think Henderson will go on to be an England regular for years to come. I class him in a similar bracket to Jack Wilshere. Also, could everyone use some perspective. If we had a player on our books, with his talent would we expect much less. I think Liverpool are paying slightly over the odds but not as much as people are making out. Great signing by Kenny if he joins. He in my opinion is building a new dynasty at Liverpool using some of the best young talent in the game. Phil Jones would be another excellent signing for them if it happens.

Should we take a chance on this player ?
Carlos Valderrama replied to paul moy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I disagree that he is on his way. I think we will give him a punt next year. See how he fares in the premier reserve league against better defenders. The video is great but some of the marking and defending seen was shambolic. Will find it much tougher in the prem (obviously). But his eye for goal does look very very natural. And he is hitting his physical peak. -
£3.5m bid rejected for Snodgrass.
Carlos Valderrama replied to Adam NCFC's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Looking at the YouTube footage much of his game is played on the right hand side, does look like he can switch it to the left though. An important quality given Surmans injury record. -
£3.5m bid rejected for Snodgrass.
Carlos Valderrama replied to Adam NCFC's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Watching the YouTube footage he reminds me a bit of Darren Huckerby, minus the pace but with a little bit of extra steel. Really really hope we make this one happen!!! -

Carlos Valderrama replied to Adam NCFC's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Very exciting if it happens. Clever footballer who likes to play the right way. Heard an interview with someone on talksport who said that teams who come up and try and play inevitably get relegated. That may be true. Looks like we are trying to bring in the personel to enable us to keep our current passing style and take it to the prem. -
I like all the people saying he is an OK player. Bullard is pure quality, during the derby he looked the only player who could possibly hurt us. He didnt because obviously you cant do it all on your own, but his goal was pure class. I thinkhe would be a major asset to the side. Comes across as a nice bloke with a sense of humour in the media. Also at 32 he wont be able to command his normal salary. I would imagine a minimal basic with substantial rewards for appearances, goals etc. He also has premier league experience. At 32 he is reaching the later stages of his career and could pass on lots of that experience to the likes of Korey Smith, Tom Adeyemi and even Andrew Surman. Plus it would seriously pee the binners off which would make me smile every day.

City agree 2.5m for Vaughan
Carlos Valderrama replied to can u sit down please's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think you can take the fee quoted with a pinch of salt to be fair. These things are normally always embellished in the media. Decent player. Vaughn, Holt, Morison & Martin is looking a decent quartet for a shot at the prem. Interesting to see what the plans for Cody Mac are. I think he might be retained as the gamble card, see how he gets on against decent opposition the prem reserve league etc. -
To echo Mr Carrow Morison is at the peak of his physical fitness. Doing a smidge of research he is a consistent player that doesnt get injured much. Has a decent scoring record, 1 in 2.5ish. Has had to work at his career by coming up through the levels from non-league. In fairness he pretty much ticks all of the Lambert boxes. And as for the person who said we dont want to mimick Stokes style of play. Mid table finish and an FA cup final suggests that it works well. They also play some fairly decent stuff at times.

Lansbury likely to be sold...
Carlos Valderrama replied to CanaryJames's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I dont understand why everyone thinks he would be expensive. Cost Arsenal nothing, hasnt really done anything, couldnt even force his way into our starting 11. Someone stated that with the players going he is likely to be up there as an option. I think Arsenal will spend big in the summer so he could find himself even further down the pecking order. I wouldnt mind him here permanently but am really not bothered either way.
