He's certainly many unprintable things but Kevin isn't a binner. I sat near him at the last AGM. He's clearly well known to NCFC as every time he raised a question nephew Tom was getting agitated trying to shut him down. Easy access, great atmosphere ( when they’re having a good season ) and the famous Millwall Caff. If you can avoid upsetting the locals and passing out from the drug taking in the lavs there’s much to like.

As an ex-smoker and knowing how hard it is to kick the habit I think people should be allowed to smoke but only in controlled environments. The ban on indoor smoking in public must be one of the best pieces of legislation any government has ever passed. YF's suggestion of quadrupling the price of cigarettes is interesting as smokers have always been hammered over the years. I'm not an against increase in prices above inflation but smokers have certainly felt it in their pocket. I gave up in 1976 and a packet of 20 B & H Special Filter cost 47p. The RRP for the equivalent B & H Gold is now £17.06. Had ciggie prices merely kept up with inflation they would only be £4.70 or thereabouts.

Talking of underdogs and foreign teams ( sort of ) I’ve acquired a taste for Fort William. Standing in the shadow of Ben Nevis their tiny ground is often said to be in one of the most picturesque locations in Britain. That said the weather’s so foul that half their matches are postponed so anyone wanting to tick it off a ‘ been there done that ‘ list will be lucky to find the match still on. They were members of the Highland League for some years but a perpetual basket case team finishing bottom so often that in season 20/21 they forfeited a relegation Play Off match and now reside in the North Caledonian League. Thankfully their overall form has improved and they win games but they’re still prone to some fearful hammerings. In our days in the Nelson post-match me, Nutty and others talked about making a pilgrimage up there one day. Of course it’s never going to happen but the Fort Supporters ( Norwich Branch ) is something I suppose.
