    Crystal Palace Tickets

Interestingly Tom Smith told me that the club were going to introduce these new schemes this season whether or not we were promoted. Had we missed out on promotion I doubt they'd have got away with the same membership fees.

Exactly the same thing happened last season under the old points system. Example : You have a shedful of points but can't get to a game and a mate wants to join your first priority group for a match but doesn't have enough points. He uses your membership number to get a ticket and you get the points. Win/win. Review it they might but there's no way they can know if it's happening regularly or indeed at all. If they wanted to stop it they would have to abandon the ' Friends & Family ' scheme and make a sale conditional/checkable by ID on purchase and again on entering the event, eg, Wimbledon tennis, Glastonbury. A logistical nightmare for NCFC and all the clubs they're visiting. Not going to happen.

For good reason there's unlikely to be any hard evidence that it's happening but anyone lucky enough to be in the ' 750 ' would be daft not to try to get some away ' credit ' for next season if they attend few, or even no games at all this season. In probably 90% of cases you'd have people biting your arm off for your ticket even if you didn't already have someone who wanted it.

    Burnley Tickets

There were less than 250 away season ticket holders last season and they've been allowed to carry that forward to this year. The rest of the ' 750 ' are people whose membership number was used to purchase tickets for at least 10 away games. Whether away season tickets will continue into next season is anybody's guess as is how the rest of away allocations will be divvied up.

A year since I made a fool of myself

Dave Stringer and Peter Grant both avoided that fate although Grant probably had one foot in death row when he resigned.

A year since I made a fool of myself

Most of us make fools of ourselves on here every day so I wouldn't worry if your embarrassment was a year ago Like me I think you were with a fair number who thought Farke had reached the end of the road at the beginning of last season. I remember when Ipswich took the lead against us at Portman Rd and a chant of, " Farke, Farke, sort it out " rang round. Getting the draw that day, a narrow win over Middlesbrough the next game and that bonkers run of 10 wins in 12 calmed everything down and here we are in the Premier League. I don't mind admitting I was wrong.

    London Stadium

I think the capacity is regulated to 60,000 at present but West Ham are trying to get that lifted. The unused seats must be the ones I could see under the flat bit separating the tiers. The whole place certainly felt a bit weird for somewhere to play football. Not too bad getting in but having heard horror stories about getting out ended up in achingly cool Hackney afterwards. Every available brick wall was smothered in Banksy style graffiti fit to make your eyes bleed. Shame I haven't got any shares in paint companies....

    West Ham predictions

BTTS looks the same as printing money as does over 2.5 goals. I'll go for 2-2.

    Burnley tickets to general sale

So there's still over 500 tickets available out of our 2300 allocation on sale to Standard Away Members tomorrow. I think there's less than 500 standard memberships so it looks as though they'll be going to general sale. Given the delights of Burnley maybe understandable but doubt it'll happen too many times this season.

    Bolton saved!

Agreed. I watched her You Tube report on the Ipswich game and she did well to hold it together at all.

Farke - Klose's season could be over

" A moment of individual brilliance " is exactly what these teams have in abundance which is why it's so difficult against them. On the balance of play over the 90 minutes I think Chelsea deserved the win. They were in pretty much complete control in the 2nd half but as always it's a matter of opinion. Luckily we don't play Liverpool or Chelsea every week.

Farke - Klose's season could be over

Yes I agree that I'd rather see Zimmerman in the team over Hanley and if he is included all season we're likely to gain more points. I think most would agree he's probably a better player. What I was trying to point out that when we play top teams boasting world class players the end result is rarely in doubt whoever plays in our defence.

Farke - Klose's season could be over

It's all ' ifs ', ' buts ' and ' maybes '. I too think Zimmerman is a better option to Hanley but as II Parata says we could only realistically hope for three points from those first three games. Liverpool and Chelsea are on another level and both deserved to win so I don't think Zimmerman would have made a crucial difference overall. Maybe Zimmerman would have made a mistake over something Hanley did well. There'll be plenty of ' mistakes ' when Man City roll into town and will more than likely make no difference to the outcome. It's how we perform at places like the Olympic Stadium and Turf Moor that will define our season.

    *****Official match thread v Crawley*****

Forgetting all that for a moment did anyone manage to eat one of those horrible burgers on sale inside the ground ? Nothing on sale outside so it was that or nothing. Got one of their doubles which ended up being dished up on two hot dog rolls as they'd run out of burger buns and just about everything else too. To say it was disgusting is being kind. Stood next to Tom Smith on the terrace and not surprisingly I noticed wasn't tempted. Surprised Crawley didn't organise better caterering for the night. They'd have made a killing.
