Twtd of all places say Norwich are one of 4 clubs trying to sign Liverpool central defender Daniel Ayala , Swansea , Scum and Hull being the other 3 .

Sky Sports.com understands  Leicester did approach Norwich about Holt , maybe Mr Henderson was not making it all up .

Take sentiment out of the equation and it makes a lot of sense.

I dont think we would  buy a player in January then tell him to find a new club a few months later , looked out of his depth at Championship level and we would need a massive injury list for him to feature in the Premiership , waste of a squad number.

Nothing very exciting about any of the signings and we have a whole squad that needs to step up not just one or two players . Maybe we bought to early and should of waited untill now when the likes of Pacheco and Lansbury seem to be available , those two for me would have been head and shoulders better than anything we have signed .

Morison will replace Holt quite early in the season imo , you do not  buy a striker for over £2 million just to have him on the bench or back up . Expect a starting two of Morison and Vaughan . As for can Holt cut it in the Prem , well you could just as easily ask the same question of our other 7 strikers , we are high on numbers but with big question marks over all of them quality wise.

And are you stupid enough to think if Brighton would not sell us Bennett they will loan him to us , even you are not that thick .Face it yet again we bottled it big time , even those broke binners you tell us so much about had a £1.8 million bid accepted for Austin .

Brighton  are not letting him go its not going to happen . Looks like Hucks thinks we may have blown top 2 , twittered Jake Humphrey spoke a lot of sense tonight i think we will struggle to keep in top 2 Lamberts top class but quality wins games.

I would take the £5million Ameobi would be a bonus .

I think everybody thought when the transfer request went in they would have no choice but to sell , it seems Brighton are made of sterner stuff .

Now that would be a kick in the teeth for Lambert , his number 1 target signing for a promotion rival .

Do we need anyone , simple do we want promotion or not , squad as it is will struggle to finish top 6 . We have no consistent goalscorer, in fact we have 3 strikers who couldnt hit a cows arse to save their lives.

Eastwood is another striker who finds goals very hard to come by ,would hope it was somebody like Paterson at Burnley  but cannot see them selling him .

Our strikers have scored one goal between them in 6 games , we wont be staying in the top 6 for long if that sort of form continues . Bennett and a finisher Monday as a minimun , we need somebody like Earnshaw who when a chance comes along it ends up in the net .

There was talk he might be rested today anyway as they have a more important league game Tuesday.

The Chairman saying he is going nowhere with just 3 days of the window left is going to look pretty stupid if he lets him leave now though , i still feel this one is not going to happen .

Local press in Brighton are not being allowed to talk to Bennett according to their web chat this afternoon , if he is coming to us i would expect him to be left out of the Brighton squad tonight . Still think we need somebody to stick the ball in the net , one striker not scoring is not to much of a worry but 3 not being able to find the net may see us drop out of the picture.
