  1. I''m happy that it''s Peter Grant rather than one of Charlie''s Dad''s '' tossers'' but in truth, and certainly not helped by our lack of success, I was getting bored with Nigel and his team before it was turning sourer than a Yellow fever ( lower case f) rant.

I began to know what Nigel would say, the sort of players he would get in and the people he wouldn''t consider and the way we were going to play after they had been on the pitch about 5 minutes. So regardless if it was Peter Grant or any of the managers of small club Champ strugglers or the assistant managers of small club Prem stragglers, it least it will be interesting again for the rest of the year and probably the season.

Who will be sacked from the backroom, who will be appointed, who''ll be dropped or loaned out, who''ll be loaned in and then who will be bought and sold in January? And then there''s the games to watch. Look at the number of posts since 6 pm yesterday, there''s so much to speculate and comment on and the City sites might actually have something interesting again, unlike those non-stories on the official site like, ''Hendo boils an egg'' or ''Hucks has pedicure'' crap that they think will distract fans from the dullness that it had all become.

Can''t wait, success or failure, at least I don''t know what will happen which is refreshi[:)]ng change from the last couple of do nothing new years.

  2. It all comes down to passion. Worthy outers were passionate about the team doing well or doing badly and last season their action was their passionate response for their desire for change.

Football supporting isn''t about reasoned argument and calm down it''s about caring soooo much your headaches.

With things having improved the passionate ones can still equally passionately embrace and be excited about this change. The reasoned rational ones can snipe and say we told you so, but the passionate ones know deep down that to some extent their actions and displays of passionate grievance, discontent and frustration made a difference whether it can be proven or not.

So the passionate ones will sing when they want and what they want knowing that they would rather be a passionate supporter who ''got it wrong'' than be called Ralph Wright.

  3. I think we''ve started well but, we''ve no left cover, Peter Thorne is our big striker, Safri could be injured or tired at any minute and unless I''m mistaken Fleming is our cover for centre back and probably right back.

In addition Crystal Palace, West Brom, Southampton, Birmingham, Burnley, Luton and Leeds have started reasonably well, Coventry, Derby, Plymouth and Stoke have spent, Preston looked tidy on Tuesday and played well last year, Cardiff have a good manager and a fair side and I assume that Niall Quinn will have to spend soon too. So good start but we need a bigger squad or loads of luck before even a play off place looks a possibility.

  4. To paraphrase Delia to some extent, on a good day, Carrow Road is a place of worship, just not very often recently.

On Delia herself and indeed Michael WJ, like a lot of things at the club opinions change with the clubs performance, when things are going well we admire their true supporter enthusiasm and wide eyed optimism / naivety as touching and charming and just what we need at the helm, in less enjoyable times their musings and ramblings can easily be portrayed as idiotic and out of touch. They have also either decided or been advised to keep a low profile for the last 6 months or so, of that there is no doubt, but perhaps whatever they would or could have said would have been inflammatory to some.

  5. OK,

Herb, I didn''t suggest that I could or would be manager, I was facetiously suggesting that currrently many people would jump at any replacement for Nigel.

Mook we''ll have to agree to disagree on Mr. Francis, yes I performed badly on occasion and looked like he couldn''t care less, but he also gave me some of my best memories of Norwich during the years he was here. I don''t understand why someone with his ability doesn''t make more of an effort at all times but despite this I would rather have him here more then any midfielder currently at the club other than perhaps Safri, when fit or not tired, which obviously isn''t very often.

And I repeat, Holt, Russell and Mulryne would be no worse than what we currently have and the £1.5m has gone.

  6. I stand by what I say, when compared to our current first choices, hughes, robinson, etuhu, second choices, colin and previously charlton and the press ganged, namely henderson, jarvis, thorn and mckenzie I would take back Francis in the knowledge that he can perform at a higher level in midfield than anybody on the list.

PS. I''d have Russell and Mulryne and Holt back too if we could sell the other first choices.

PPS. I think the majority of people on the board would prefer me, or indeed anyone else to Nigel at the moment.

  7. High notes may be out of reach with England still tuning up

"Then again, maybe the critics have been duped all along. So far, apart from a couple of halves, England have played like zombies, attracting routine ridicule from press and pundits. Perhaps they were fooling, Portugal will be swept aside and a scowling Scolari along with them. It worked for France, who until they beat Spain were giving a plausible imitation of the Old Guard at dusk with Zinédine Zidane packing his bags for Elba while Franck Ribéry perfected his Darren Huckerby impression."

  8. Sorry Pete,

But I just wanted to say that the only real reason, in my view, that the board has degenerated to the state it is in  is 2 fold.

    1. 3 years ago when the board was full of lively debate and good humour was because the club, the board, the team and their performances made the fans feel like being of good humour and all the lively debate was about positive developments at the club. The state of the club, whoever or even if no-one is to blame reflects the mood and stateof the board.

    2. The excellent way this board is run and who it is run by, has made it the board to be on if you have an opinion, that has unfortunately led to less literate, less intelligent, less mature individuals being drawn to this board as other boards prove to be technically and intellectually failing them.
