So who are we going to bring in to replace Holt
Lambo replied to The Great Drinkell's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
We need two new strikers ideally if Holt''s going bearing in mind Wilbraham has been released too. I''d personally like to see Fletcher & Rhodes. -
Lambert confirmed as Villa manager
Lambo replied to paul moy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Can we not do a "Colchester" and now view Villa as our rivals due to them taking our manager though please? Cheers for everything Paul, I thoroughly look forward to us beating you next season. -
I love Dave McNally

...that Holt and Lambert are going, honestly.Norwich City will suprise a few people next season with them both gone. Holt is clearly the biggest ego in the dressing room and his departure may improve the team spirit. We''ve got a great group of young talented players in Howson, Pilks, The Bennetts, Ruddy & Vaughan will be like a new signing too. We''ve got a strong squad still, we''re in the best financial position we''ve been for a long time to replace and rebuild and the real catalyst for our recent success is still here in Dave McNally, he brought both Holt & Lambert to the club and he''ll replace both, his past record at Celtic and Fulham speaks for itself, the bloke knows what he''s doing round a football club hence why Fulham are still a Premiership side. There are plenty of other quality strikers around and despite everything he acheived there are other quality managers around as well as Lambert. All is not lost people, it''s the beginning of an exciting new era at our football club.OTBC

Swansea aren't hanging about!!!

Clever appointment by Swans. He was very highly thought of by their squad during Martinez'' tenure there, knows the club and the system and will command the respect of a great majority of the squad straight away. -

He took over at Porto after they''d finished 3rd in that one horse league as Benfica and Braga both finished above them and gave it a small revoloution. ;)That said, it''s daft to even speculate AVB, never.... EVER.... gonna happen. -

No... Paul Ince won that division at a canter with MK Dons then jumped to the PL with Blackburn. Look how that turned out... -
Interesting Goreham tweet...

Hughton managed to form something of a team spirit in a dressing room that contained the ego''s of Joey Barton, Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll and get them playing. I think he can handle our squad. -

WBA are getting former Schalke and Hoffenhiem boss Ralf Rangnick as their new boss. Quality appointment by them.

Represents too much of a gamble for me, no PL experience compared to a Hughton (admittedly he''s not got bags of experience), we''ll take him from ya when he''s acheived something with yourselves. *joking*

Apparently Holt''s transfer request was all regarding him being rotated with Moro, why''d he go to Villa when he''s got Darren Bent & Gabby Agbonlohor ahead of him in the pecking order plus our new replacement may well not chop and change the side as much leading to more regular starts for Holty.

Why would he leave Champions League football to come to a relegation dogfight? -

It''d certainly be a interesting appointment. Was always a leader on the pitch. Suprised he''s not ventured into outright management already. -

Hughton or Poyet... I wouldn''t be unhappy if we do appoint Culverhouse though either. -
Last I heard he was relegated to the conference with Lincoln.
You can''t say that the club''s ambitions don''t match Lambert''s, but it would be fair to say that the club''s finances don''t match Lambert''s ambitions, but that''s no ones fault. I''m sure the clubs ambitions are to win the Premier League and Champions League repeatedly until they rename the competitions in our honour. Spending money we don''t have isn''t ambitious, it''s reckless.
So so true. Great post!

I like Charlie, one of the few Journo''s i do have an element of trust in. His reply to my tweet after he said he thought Holt would join Lambert tickled me too.

Bundesliga and Serie A FTW! In Germany despite the fact Bayern have by far the most spending power 5 different clubs have won the title in the past 10 years. Along with teams such as Schalke, Hamburg, Gladbach & Leverkusen all being challengers at times. Serie A has also become a lot more interesting since the departure of Mourinho from Inter. Next season i''d say there''s potentially going to be Juve, Milan, Inter, Napoli, Roma, Udinese & Lazio all there or there abouts for the title. It was only in the final 3rd of this season it became a two horse race between Juve and Milan. Juve went the season unbeaten but still never looked dominant at any stage. Our League? I actually think next season could be quite good. If Everton continue their strong end of season form you''ve potentially got 8 sides all capable of mixiing it up with one another.
