  1. While I did agree with him that commercial ventures should be exploited to the maximum (ones that have minimum outlay to maximum profits, not the kind that the board has been pursuing), he has the sound of a used car salemen arthur daley about him. Worked with the saracens doing unknown, unknown clubs up north assisting with a dog show and more unknown 120,000 stadiums in america doing unknown things. Anyone worth their salt would be reeling of the biggest successful projects and club names they had done consultancy work for for the free PR, not vague hints. My guess is his work with them was providing building materials as per his company. I can''t imagine the profit to ground maintenance cost ratios being very good at all on the types of events he was suggesting that could be attracted to carrow road, and the indian investors things sounds very fishy to me....
  2. What about using our name as a marketing tool. Like Gate''s Gaylord''s or Branson''s Bumbandit''s until they invest millions for us to change it! Or Delia''s spit roasters until she leaves. Imagine the press coverage :p Agh, gonna have nightmares tonight over that mental image!
  3. There once was a man called GunnyWho thought needing skill to be funny. While a legend it''s true, his tactics were poo,and now we are flushed down the dunny.
  4. Good new that he has the option. The way I see it, avoiding relegation is the main goal of this season. Given that transfer''s in the January window tend to be higher both in terms of fees and wages due to club desperation / optimism than in the close season part of me thinks that if we can get away with avoiding relegation then it''s better for Norwich to survive on loans with no signings. If Roeder can pick up some quality bargains in the January window great, but not expensive mediocre stop gaps with the limit funds available that wont do us any good long term, and take away for the summer budget. Much better to save the money for the close season to give Roeder a bigger war chest for a promotion push next season when he is more likely to get better quality players for less money without the January panic buying that often leads to poor decisions. Then again, it all depends on avoiding relegation, and giving Roader the option to buy players in the window that he feels we need either as cheap injury cover or quality bargains before losing them to other teams before the close season.
  5. Agree completely also. Was slightly hesitant when he was first announced (probably due to the complete failure of Grant at man management) but am happy to say that he is most assuredly saying and more importantly doing the right things. Obviously needs both time and money to rebuild the club to its former glory which unfortunately will take quite some time, and hope some of the more fickle fans don''t turn on him if he does not bring immediate success. I was completely ashamed of what I read in the EDP about some of the abuse that our own fans were hurling at him though, especially taking into account his recent success with a team he inherited that were at a moral lowpoint with too many sub standard players.
  6. Hate to be a new poster and have my first post be an attack on the OP, but this post annoyed me to such a degree that it finally made me crack and stop being a lurker here for years and actually register! Delia may be an embarrassment sometimes (not for me personally as I find her antics amusing, like a real supporters, but I can understand why many may feel that way), but having a major shareholder who actually loves the club she has invested her time and money in is a very rare thing. I know many other supporters of non elite clubs who would dearly give much to have a board whose main purpose is to do the best for the club and not see how much money they can cream off. It''s all very well screaming that we need to oust Delia and Co, but what about the long-term picture. Looking at it from her perspective with all the money that she has invested into a losing / non profit making venture when she could have invested it in much more profitable ventures (money makes money remember), I wouldn''t be surprised if she just washed her hands of the fickle NCFC fans if any campaign of this sort got started. I would in the same situation, not a good idea to bite the hand that feeds you IMHO. So she sells up, what you think the changes are of getting someone buying the shares that actually care more about the club than money, pretty remote in the extreme, and there are very very few crazy Russians out there who just like to burn / need to launder money. Which do you thing is best for the long term future of a club, the majority shareholders priorities being club then money, or money then club? WO is another matter (I''m undecided, no point in getting rid of him if we cannot attract anyone better), but no way should the failing of the tactical side of the team be laid on the Smith''s doorstep. You could argue that the close relationship between the Board and the Manager maybe clouding the appraisal of Worthington''s performance (one that I, and I doubt anyone else here is in a position to judge honesty), but I always think it is a bad idea to throw the baby out with the bathwater! I''ll probably be called a blind Delia supporter or secret NCFC employee or some such rubbish, but someone who plops millions into NCFC expecting and in all likelihood getting pretty much none of it back I feel deserves some blind support. P.S I haven''t lived in East Anglia for a long time now so havn''t been brainwashed by that oh so unbiased EDP (assuming it hasn''t changed, as if!) Forgot to add, hi everyone, have enjoyed reading the opinions on here for years.
