  1. It should be remembered that the first season or so under Farke, they were trying a play a system that the players were not good enough to play, but as we all know it did eventually all come together - but it does not look like that here. There seems a complete lack of confidence and understanding as that comes from the manager. While I have sympathies for Wagner losing key players, he now has that look about him that he doesn't really have any answers and players will be trotted out giving the usually cliches of working hard on the training ground and giving it 110% (sic). Everyone will be queuing up to play us right now. Promotion is out of the question as we not only have relegation from upon us, but administration form. I'm sure something will be done to stop that from happening, but we need to hit the reset button, but with whom and what league remains to be seen.
  2. I reluctantly wanted Farke out because our and his EPL record was very poor indeed. However, upon reading MB's piece in The Athletic sometime later, where the fall out was explained in detail most notably where none of Farke's transfer targets were met for the last EPL campaign and was given for what somebody at the club told me was 'The worst intake of players they had ever seen', I began to realise he had been stuffed, notably by Webber and the club as a whole. The article also made clear that Farke told Webber the players were not good enough and he was proved right. I think I've posted before where I wanted Farke to resign after his second promotion because he wouldn't be supported - again. His stock with fans was absolutely huge at that point and could have forced the issue but that was - and still isn't - Daniel's style. Plus he had signed a nice juicy contract after all. Unfortunately he was doomed because Webber was never going to take responsibility for the sub EPL purchases made, so Farke was always going to be the fall guy despite any misgivings Delia & Michael had - Webber was their man. I wonder whether if they regret it? The only crumb of comfort going forward is if the new Sporting Director can get everyone onside with a philosophy that works under strict financial restraints and treats the fans and public with respect. One Stuart Webber is one too many, so I'm sure he will learn the lessons of what his predecessor failed in many departments and offer a brighter future without arrogance and petulance.
  3. Until things are settled off the pitch, things won't get settled on it.
  4. Farke handled himself impeccably and I expected nothing less. The man - at this level at least - is a winner. He certainly out managed Wagner yesterday. I will be intrigued to see how much Farke will be supported financially when Leeds make the Top Tier. I'm sure they won't do what Webber did a buy a lot of sub standard players and instead get his targets. We will then know how good he really is and what could have been.
  5. I think Knapper is the only ray of optimism going forward. I really hope he has a really fixed idea of what he wants to make this club have an identity and be successful, though I hope he is going into his job with his eyes very wide open. Selling Sara or Rowe would be nonsensical, though I can see at least one or both sold in the summer depending how things go.
  6. Agreed. If Sara & Rowe were sold in the transfer window - which I don't think they will - the club would be in a relegation battle if Gunn's injury is long term. I would expect at least one or possibly both them sold in the summer. The club is in a very unsettling position right now, both on and off the pitch. Promotion is absolutely off the table and one can only hope the new Sporting Director has some progressive plan to get an identity for this club again and if that means sacking Wagner, so be it, though I think that is unlikely. Norwich City are like a box of Virgin Wines - Two good ones, mixed with varying degrees of mediocrity. For those fans that don't like the EPL and want to stay in The Championship, then it looks like very good news indeed.
  7. We should lose 3-1, so we'll probably win 1-0...
  8. I'm probably quite old school in this. The law of averages means that many footballers or sportsmen in general over the years have lost people close to them. But you have to get on with it. Todd was paid an extremely high amount that many of us will never see and for that, you have to have a high mental strength. Big money, big characters. Asking for 'a couple of weeks off' like a High School kid would not have been tolerated at many clubs. Norwich City to be fair gave him that time out, but it wasn't a free pass. I liked the guy, but I got sick of his cryptic BS on social media he continually played the victim. In 10 years time he may look at things differently, but the only person who can be held responsible is not Webber, Farke, Smith or whoever but Todd himself. He isn't the first talented youngster not to fulfil his potential and he won't be the last. He's like Danny Mills in reverse.
  9. More questions than answers here. Maybe it is simply that after 10 days training, he just wasn't right and that would have been Farke's call. He sounds too lightweight for me.
  10. The only reason Max was here for as long as he was, was because there were no suitable offers for him after relegation despite the club actively trying to sell him. Ditto Todd. The club thought they would be easy sales and were most bemused that wasn't the case.
  11. No way Josh has done enough to justify that - or anywhere near it - so far. Rowe could be proper money if his form continues, but a move is a little early. Sara will be a nailed on sale if promotion isn't forthcoming.
  12. The club thought he would be sold - as was Todd - after relegation, but no credible offers were forthcoming. That should have been a wake up call that you can never assume your best assets will be picked up.
  13. On the contrary. It is reasonable to suggest that majority shareholders who neither invested (expect initially and have been paid back) or attracted outside investment for a very long period of time has been a negative factor and has held the club back. We'll never know of course, but if you pitched the idea to any compatible club that they should have individuals that are the same, I cannot imagine many fans who would get excited by the idea.
  14. That is debatable. While D&M have never been in it for the money, hanging on to their position when they have been out of their depth for many years could be classed as self interest. As for the HMS Canary, it currently has a few holes that have been patched up by MA, as Captain Webber is AWOL and nobody yet to take his place. The ship is certainly heading for uncharted waters.
  15. This does highlight that the failure of selling Max and Todd after relegation, which the club - somewhat naively in my opinion - thought would be a given. Their combined sales when they were eventually sold was a modest £8.5M, whereas the figures being bandied around at their peak as we all know were significantly higher, which would have helped the club quite considerably.
  16. That is something I've feared for a while. How would that play out with MA? Could administration benefit him or not?
  17. It is likely Norwich City will remain in the The Championship, which would mean that the club would have to be very careful on wages as no EPL cash would be forthcoming, when traditionally we pay high wages for Tier 2 for a variety of reasons. A trip to League 1 would be unthinkable, whereas a return to the top tier would be interesting in whether our American friends would want to the club to make more of an effort to stay there - or not - compared to D&M.
  18. Quite why Zoe Webber would be entitled to 'Bonuses' considering the financial position of the club is morally wrong. As far as the 'takeover' goes, are we going to have 3 years of our American friends and D&M circling each other like a pair of dogs, where fighting or humping cannot be ruled out, metaphorically speaking.
  19. I don't think he is going to spend tens of millions, but hopefully he will spend some millions and bring a positive attitude to the club instead of the parochialism that currently exists.
  20. That's basically the long and short of it. I'm not sure if there has ever been another club in the history of the game which doesn't like the league it is supposedly trying to get promoted to, but I'm prepared to be corrected.
  21. That's one thing that always baffles me. Most - or a significant minority - of Norwich City fans I would argue are happy to be in The Championship., which ties in with The Stowmarket Two. However, one season in the second tier with Chase and all hell brakes loose. Football has changed since the 1990's and football no longer had a place for modest local businessmen such as him, but his ultimate replacements gradually changed the ambition of Norwich City to a level they were happy with, rather than the support base. My concern by yesterday is that the initial Wagner 'bounce' of last season faded quickly and the same thing could be happening again. With the club going back to 50K buys and freebies, much akin to the John Bond/Arthur South days of the 1970's and a protracted takeover process of sorts, every City fan has a right to be concerned.
  22. My old local. I remember how much the 'Northern' clubs would complain about the price of a pint. If memory serves me correctly, an additional till used to appear on an away game of which, one suspects, the money bypassed HMRC... Had many a good night here and is the one very few pubs that if it was still standing - and run properly - would still do well.
  23. Invest, not buy. I’m still keeping an open mind on this one, but it would never surprise me.
