"More than 9,000 of the richest people in the UK collected more than £1m each in capital gains last year, exploiting a loophole that could result in them paying tax at a rate as low as 10%. HMRC data shows 9,000 people paid just £5.1bn in tax on £33.7bn of capital gains income in the latest financial year available. That works out at an average tax rate of 14.8%, lower than than the basic rate income tax of 20% that people pay on salaries of between £12,501 and £50,000. " meanwhile " Jeremy Corbyn has said he will target tax dodgers if he becomes prime minister at the general election as he said billionaires have a moral obligation to pay their fair share. “So our tax plans will affect the richest 5% of our society. We will be chasing down tax evasion, tax avoidance and tax havens because at the end of the day if you’re doing some very clever wheeze, which somehow or other is avoiding your levels of taxation, you should be paying. Go further away [and] what happens then? You’ve got an underfunded school, hospital and public services as a whole.” I know which side of that argument I am on

And still they lie "A complaint that a government advert extolling the benefits of universal credit was misleading, and thus “dangerous to the health and financial security of disabled people”, has been upheld by the UK’s advertising watchdog. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) took out a six-page advertorial in the Metro in May claiming to “set the record straight” on myths about the controversial new system, kicking off a nine-week campaign costing £225,000. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/universal-credit-dwp-advert-government-asa-watchdog-a9186711.html Thankfully, as with the claims about brexit and the Tories proposed budget increases to the NHS and schools, there are those willing to challenge these lies. And expose them for what they are.....lies Maybe some of the bigots will eventually find out what the DUP found out. A liar will always lie....even to those closest to them And Johnson is that liar "

Yes, stuff is edited...........Match of the Day is very tightly 'edited' but that is due to the amount of time available for each game it is not so as to change the result - as was done here a piece of crude misrepresentation, reminiscent of doctored photos from the days of Stalin and this is from someone numpties think is capable of 'running the country' someone not even trusted by his own family or ex wife............. a man who has been sacked for lyi,g, has cost millions in wasted vanity projects and been shown to be incompetent at every level in public office

A quote from elsewhere pretty much sums up the division in the country Those who can see this clearly and those blinded by constant tugging of their forelocks to their 'betters' " What a contemptible barst**d Mogg is - he and his ilk have deregulated the fire regulations and refused to update the building regulations, both of which helped create the situation in the first place. It was also the Tory controlled local authority that passed over responsibility for the substandard management and refurbishment of the block to greedy cronies whose only interest was to profit from local authority housing stock. " I wonder how many crumbs have fallen from that table down to the likes of Swindo, Ricardo and Hand Cranko ".. making big money by gambling on currencies rising and falling, buying up crashed state assets like what happened in post USSR Russia and tearing away 'red tape' protections for workers, environment, and exiting before EU Tax Avoidance Directive comes into force on 1 April 2019. Or at least I could if my name were Jacob Rees Mogg, brought up within this philosophy using my father's book as a blueprint, or one of his far right wing cronies. Farage, Johnson, Gove, Redwood etc have been planning this for a long time in conjunction with US interests like Mercer, Koch brothers, Bannon. Also see James M Buchanan, economist. " And however blindingly obvious it becomes the thickos still think that this is all being done to pander to their small minded bigotry. Whereas those behind this understand that better pay, housing and medical care cost money. Their money as they see it. The UK being a member of the EU costs them money - as with above as safer working conditions improved environment protection costs money. Theirs. It is no wonder that there is so much contact between the Tories/Trump. Who better to advise them on how to plunder state assets than those who made fortunes out of 'privatising' their country. Why try to make money by making and selling things when you can simply make money by stealing wealth held in common by the populace. School and hospital grounds, state run services that have a huge legacy of land, council owned property and housing. Taken and then rented back to halfwits like Ricardo and Swindo. You could perhaps understand the thinking behind supporting such theft if you were a multi millionaire who has benefited from all this - but the average toey voting forelock tugger is reliant upon state benefits (pension) to get by on. The same pension that is paid for from the taxes paid by immigrant labour. How did we manage to produce so many thickos ?

As warned earlier "The Conservatives have been accused of releasing a misleading campaign video after doctoring footage to falsely suggest that a senior Labour figure had been unable to answer a question about Brexit. The clip, posted by the Tories on social media, showed an interview with Sir Keir Starmer, the shadow Brexit secretary, in which he appeared to have faltered for words when asked about his party’s Brexit policy. In reality, however, Sir Keir provided a full answer to the question he was asked." And I doubt this will be the last. It will be an electoral campaign that will be taken up by so many having to counter the lies of so few. Doctoring footage suggests that the depths these liars will sink to has only begun. Just as with the brexiteers when it was shown that their claims about a post brexit UK were little more than lies, we know have the Tories trying to attack their opponents through blatant lies. Which begs the question that if what they have lined up is so good why not bang the drum for that ? Why try to distract by lying ? Perhaps privatiising the NHS is not a vote winner.

"always be free" not if the Tories get their hands on the NHS, it won't "This poll shows clearly that the public understand just how big of a threat a US trade deal is to our NHS. And it shows that they’re firmly against the idea that our NHS could be sold off bit by bit to Donald Trump and American private healthcare giants.” https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/news/almost-half-of-brits-think-johnson-is-lying-about-protecting-nhs-from-trump/28/10/ Can you trust Johnson ? Ask the DUP, ask his family or even ask his ex-wife. If they can't, why should you ?
  13. the inevitable - get a grip as to Stoke then look who beat them, WBA...Swansea seem to have picked up so some you win some you don't as to their plight being the same as Sunderland then the warning is not to play in red and white stripes...as Southampton will testify to and " It was 30 years ago this week that the Potters sacked Mick Mills and put another former England international in charge. But the late Alan Ball failed to save them from the drop in May 1990. " If Bally had have kept them up it would have been by a narrow squeak ( ).... and what happened to that other chap ?

here we have the 'stick insect' making yet another of his absurd bleats, and up pops anothet idiot to affirm the stupidity of Tories " Let's hope the Tories carry on with this new approach of being honest about the level of contempt they have for the majority of the electorate. " Anyone with the slightest idea of fire in a building will be well aware that it is the smoke that kills. Leaving an area with a window that would allow access to air to try and get downstairs with no knowledge of what was below would not be thought the best idea. Yet we have this odious cretin Rees-Mogg making out that he would have been able to escape....as he had more 'common sense' ! From the 20th floor you aresole ? This from the man who thought foodbanks " rather uplifting" and "shows what a compassionate country we are - and their increased use is not due to austerity but " it is that people know that they are there and Labour deliberately didn't tell them." ,as has been shown on this thread and the previous, there are those who do not take a reasoned view of things but like the loonies in the Middle East will only accept what they are told by their 'betters' and in the latter's place it is absolute she-ite (shi-ite ?) fed to them by well paid religious nutters, which leads those loonies having to try to defend the most absurd positions, much as with the brexiteers a quick glance at the stuff from today where Johnson is trying to hide the investigations into Russian infuence in brexit the fracking ban is really only going to be for as long as it helps with the election the huge sums claimed for nurseries turn out to be 8p propective MPs told not to sign up to specific pledges on protecting the NHS from privatisation, trade deals or tackling climate change Johnson lied to MPs that they will be given a vote on extending the Brexit transition period to avoid a crash-out no-deal at the end of 2020 and this is just the one day........the lies will continue and the thick will continue to defend those lies, however blindingly obvious that they are lies cue RTB/Crank

The problem is the right cannot stop themselves from lying - any wonder, just as with Trump, they don't want this sort of stuff out in the oen "The former Boris Johnson aide who was behind a Facebook ad that broke the social network’s funding disclosure rules previously worked on a fake grassroots campaign pushing for a no-deal Brexit, the Guardian can reveal. Alex Crowley, who left No 10 in September, oversaw the previous “Mainstream Network” Facebook campaign alongside employees of the lobbying firm run by Sir Lynton Crosby, the Australian political strategist who helped run the last four Conservative general election campaigns. His new ad claimed that Labour’s tax plans would cost “an extra £214 each month” for everyone, and was posted under the name “Fair Tax Campaign”. But despite using clear political language, including the name of a political party, Facebook only became aware of the advert and removed it after being contacted by the BBC." https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2019/nov/05/ex-johnson-aide-behind-banned-brexit-facebook-ad-worked-on-fake-grassroots-campaign and this is what the election will really be about, trying to combat the well organised campaign of lies and misinformation coming from the right - which has not relented since before the referendum and those behind it are not throwing huge sums at it just to pander to the small minded bigotry of the brexit nutters their stupidity will be swept aside just as it was with the DUP and farmers in the midwest, USA

it did not have cross party support the support was for it to be scrutinised at the third reading when Johnson realised that scrutinising would be for more than a day or so he pulled the bill as he knew that, like starting up a car and running it before a sale would not be the best idea if you knew the head casket had blown what you would not then want is the prospective buyer to lift up the bonnet that was what the above vote was about.....looking under the bonnet

or "Boris Johnson’s government is under intense pressure over a parliamentary special report on alleged illicit Russian activities in Britain with eminent former security and cabinet officials demanding that it stops blocking publication of the document. The high-level intervention comes as the security and intelligence agencies confirmed that all measures necessary to protect sensitive information have already been taken and they have no objection to the report being made public. The inquiry by the Commons Intelligence and Security Committee is believed to have looked at claims of Moscow’s attempts to influence the Brexit campaign and Russian money going into UK institutions including sizeable donations made to the Conservative Party. remember the Tories telling us all how the minimum wage would destroy the economy ? or how introducing the NHS would destroy health care in the country ? an equal age of consent would lead to the sexual abuse to teenage boys ? " The Tories will try to scupper a government ban on cigarette advertising tomorrow triggering a furious row over their links to the tobacco industry. At least five Conservative frontbenchers have taken free perks from tobacco firms during this parliament, including tickets to prestigious rugby and tennis matches." " Some Tories argued that a ban could result in an increase in smoking in domestic homes - exposing more children to secondhand smoke. " to look at progressive legislation and socil change is to read up on decades of Tory regressive and bigoted though, and action something they are now attempting to turn back as they seek to cut wages, work conditions and safety, reduce holiday and sick pay - oversee schools, hospitals and police budgets cut you either agree with the above or you oppose it - there is no 'but they make the trains run on time' clause, as evidence from history shows where 'touching your forelock to your betters' leads to die on your feet fighting, or live on your knees grovellin' mumbling that 'master knows best'

" Nearly half of all Americans support impeaching President Donald Trump and removing him from office " " Fifty-five percent of Americans disapprove of Trump’s job performance, including 45 percent who strongly disapprove of it, according to the poll " " Fifty percent of Americans say they lack any confidence in Trump having the right goals and policies to be president " " There is also bad news for Trump in the poll when he is matched up against either former Vice President Joe Biden or Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, both of whom are regarded as the frontrunners for the Democratic presidential nomination. Biden has a nine-point lead over Trump in polls where the two men compete directly against each other (50 percent to 41 percent), while Warren has an eight point lead (50 percent to 42 percent) " and the sh it has yet to hit the fan when voters are shown what this orange faced buffoon was up to in accepting outside influence to manipulate the US election.... as well as much else seems that dyed blonde haired leaders are in for a rough ride in the coming months as far as investigations go

I had already predicted you would reply as such and will predict that Farage's six hundred, a sort of charge of the sh,ite brigade, will provide much diversion during the run up to the vote be it revelations of previous **** offences, fraud or violence we shall have to wait tosee as with the expected comments that suggest they think that Alf Garnett was a far too tolerant, liberal minded leftie and out they shall spill like turds out of the nightcart racing down a bumpy hill
