I'd be interested to see what the options available were on this poll as the question seems to have been "what are your hopes for the ownership of your club?" Which seems pretty vague and would likely have had multiple options (including a no opinion one) that would them be grouped according to what narrative skybet wanted to push. Also there would likely be a series of questions which led up to this that could frame people's response much better.

Yes, 2 prem loan spots but you can't have more than one from the same club. -
So… the season opener - Liverpool.

Interesting read, especially seeing how little they know about us, one of them is claiming that it's basically the same team we went down with last time (-buendia)... -

4 or 5 new faces? You've highlighted 2 perceived weaknesses, what other 2 or 3 roles would you be looking to fill? We are definitely improved over last time in the prem and would probably say we are overall stronger than last season, despite being weaker in one position (which may be covered in large part by formation/tactical tweaking) and possibly a touch weaker in another. As a squad we are in better shape and better balanced, especially if/when Tzolis arrives. -

Hanley is fit, just been isolating, but cantwell is a doubt apparently so I'd go... Krul Aarons Hanley Gibson Dimi Gilmour Sorenson PLM Rashica. Dowell Pukki -
Transfer Rumour Thread Season 2021/22

Is having one player excelling as a defensive screen as important this time as last season though? If (and this is a big if) we are moving to having 3 CMs and only 2 AMs (forgoing a true CAM for two floating wide AMs coming inside andd swapping positions) as looks likely from the signings then we would essentially have 2 sitting back most of the time with a third dropping back slightly further through the defensive phase. In other words we have one sitter with 2 either side, one of which will go forwards to launch/support the attacks. That's why we've signed players like PLM and gilmour who have similar profiles to McLean and rupp (though at a higher level) and would explain our extended focus on Billing... Yes an excellent CDM would fit well in this, but it's less vital as a good CDM (which I believe we might already have in Sorenson) will suffice. -
Was it really our first choice line-up? By my reckoning, if everyone was fit and available there would be at least 5 different players on the pitch at the start and quite likely a different formation and we had no wide players available to try and change the game... Yes it was a bit of a wake up call but only in that the 3/5 at the back option is probably going to be less useful than we thought so it doesn't really change my view going into the season in so far. This preseason has been even worse than the curtailed one last season in terms of disruption, hopefully though that means the season itself will be less so

****The Official Lapps Match Thread v Newcastle *****
cornish sam replied to Bill's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Reallt looking threadbare today, Newcastle have named almost as many subs as we have on the whole squad! -
Thatust be why we sold Emi then, we couldn't sign anyone better so we had to get rid of him to lower our bar!
