1.
we are far from being a one man team but we are keeping a striker that will get over 30 goals in one season, the most composed striker in this division, or is Holt the best.!!!hahaha!!! a lot has gone on in regards to beckford and today it has been put safely to bed. Leeds can carry on doing what they have been doing best and thats winning most games and keeping ellnad road a fortress for over a year now. Enjoy charlton looking over your shoulder wont you.? Leeds have been top since October and will remain top for the next 3 months until we are automatically promoted. Just think not once you have been above us this season. But carry on dreaming. Oh and I cant wait for our new faces to come in. Youve done your bit of business.!!!
Yes, Holt is the best striker in this division.  Check out the stats you love so much.
 2.
Having joined in with the banter and build up it''s only fair to come back to congratulate you on your teams excellent win today. Think we gifted you the openings, but your lads had to put them away and they did it with aplomb so there''s no complaints here. Second half particularly we were a bit of a shambles. I said prior to todays game I thought you had enough for second, but the way Leeds are going right now you could quite easily take the title. Football''s all about the ups and downs, normally more downs than ups, and its a painful night tonight. Hopefully once the compensation issue is sorted out one way or the other things between the clubs can settle down a bit. Anyway, once again, well done, enjoy the win - although I''m pretty sure you don''t need me to tell you to do that!
Nothing personaly, but I hope you and the Kentucky Fried Chicken Stadium disintegrate as long as you have Cowling the bumder in charge.
 3.

I heard on the radio this morning that Colchester supporters did not actually take to Lambert and did not like him. I thought I had mis heard until I saw this comment in the Colchester evening news. Yes Mr Cowling I agree paul Lambert did do a great job during his management stint for the U''s, and Maybe he could have left with a little more feeling, but as I remember he had to endure some quite unkind remarks from some sections of the "so called" U''s supporters. So who can blame him for taking the chance to advance his career at Norwich. ''Now'' I see that those same whingers are starting on our new manager Mr A. Boothroyd. So thats a turnup for the books and explains a little more.
Its called bitter, sad and jelous mate..........a bit like Howling himself!
Bitter and sad.......... pot and black come to mind!
Carlsberg don''t do Supporter Society Presidents...
 4. I find it amusing to think that if it were the other way round, and Saints were cutting their losses on a similarly useless player and we were the nuggins to take them on, there would be uproar.Bye Semi.  You were stupid.
 5.
I got in from a party last night around 3am and decided to watch this ridiculous show prior to going to bed only to discover that my Sky+ recording stopped early, just after our first goal. To say I was pissed off would be an understatement. Why does that bloody happen?!
Get you party boy...http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00q3f9t/The_Football_League_Show_2009_2010_09_01_2010/45 mins or so.
 6.
Yup, fair comment. I''m not necessarily criticising Chris Martin. I''m just not going to praise him up for an area of his game that isn''t his strongest. As it goes I think there could be more to come from Chris Martin but sometimes it''s like you''re a bad person for suggesting any of our academy products are less than perfect.
Haha, absolutely right.  They''re football players, same as everyone else who comes through our doors and gets paid their wages.  If they deserve a punt up the bumhole, they should get one.I do agree re: Martin, for what it''s worth - I think Martin could be the real deal if he just introduces a tad more dynamism to his game.  Like I say, I don''t want him charging about like a nutcase - a full-on poacher is a rarity in the modern game, especially one so young and with such strength;  but if he could get a touch more flexibility in his positioning and running he could be a complete striker, Shearer-esque (albeit at League One/Championship level).  He''s got it all there, and I''m sure a big part of his performances this season has been down to following tactics from the management team, but yeah, there is surely another level to his game to come to the fore.
 7.

It''ll take a lot to displace Holt or Martin, but Oli was clearly signed to be the next in line, and he''ll do well there. Keep lazy boy Martin on his toes.
Chris Martin isn''t lazy but he is the least hard working.
For my money, he works as hard as anyone else - people just seem to have some pre-concieved opinions about him. It''s pretty clear Lambert would not stand for laziness.
Pre-conceived opinions? Like what? Would you say Chris Martin puts in the work Holt and Hoolahan do?
Maybe not but how many strikers do you see work as hard as them too? Most strikers come across as lazy but to be honest if your going to slag the boy week in week out when he is 21 and has scored 14 goals he isn''t ever going to impress you is he?
See this is it, it''s almost as if people take it personally. I''m not slagging the boy. As I''ve said on here (countless times) I''ve liked Chris Martin as a player since I saw him play as a youngster. He''s got talent. But I''m not going to sit here saying "he worked his socks off" etc etc when he hasn''t.
For my mind, I don''t want him running his socks off ala Holt.  Getting into position 3 yards from goal to sidefoot in an easy chance is just as important as chasing down every loose ball, every tired defender.  If all the front 3/4 were doing that we''d never have anyone to poach those loose balls and knock in those cute crosses along the 6 yard box. 14 goals is not to be sniffed at; Mr. Martin has really done his bit where it counts.
 8.

Leeds certainly don''t have the best home record in the division.  Perhaps currently Norwich don''t either. Colchester''s home record is P11 W9 D1 L1.  They have currently dropped 5 points at home but from only 11 games, and ther next home game is against us on January 16, so we can soon right that one. Huddersfield''s home record is P12 W9 D3 L0.  They have dropped 6 points at home from 12 games.  However they still have to host the 4 best teams in the division us, Leeds, Charlton & Colchester. Our current away form is good, but not startling.  Colchester away will be a really good benchmark for us.  Go there and win and without tempting fate I think we will definitely go up automatically and we will catch Leeds. It is obvious you are worried S permboy and with good reason. Everyman and his dog know''s Leeds will wobble, they''ll implode.  I can see it now, a play off final defeat against Colchester, losing to a last minute goal.
twats like you is what i was referring too, show a bit of respect to your league leaders
Get a grip.  You''re on a Norwich fans messageboard, and you demand ''respect''? I''d laugh if I didn''t feel so sorry for you.

 10.

http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=104&fid=297&sty=2&act=1&mid=2123346942Is Lambert even on a proper contract?
Yes, a one year rolling one.
Where is your evidence for this Chimp? Did you look at the link which I posted yesterday??? He is not on a one year contract.
The EDP article I linked to yesterday says a one-year rolling deal.
 11.
We will raise £34.5m if we sell Carrow Road, resulting in paying all of our debts. Obviously we have to pay around £1m a year in rent but surly this is a good option, thoughts?
This would be the single worst thing we could do.  The equivalent of one of those 3000% APR short term loans.  Would sort out the immediate situation by risking our future.
 12. I''m sure they will.  Meanwhile they have a month to let Newcastle return again and again with stupid money.
 13.
Pearson would be a very good man for them to target and I would love them to take him off Leicester.  Just can''t see either Pearson or Billy Davies viewing that Burnley is a better option than where they are though considering both have their teams in the Championship play-offs.  Especially Davies who will possibly be thinking that he can get Forest in to the top two. I still think Burnley should be making Mark Hughes (who has been there and done it with close rivals Blackburn for many years) their number one target!
Agreed, but I don''t see what would lure them.  I honestly think Burnley are going to have to go for one of the perennial names mentioned when these stories come about.  Coppell, Curbs etc.  Curbishley would be a decent appointment - he''s a good manager with time on his side.
 14.
We don''t need another first choice striker. We have three strikers who are going to get 20 goals each this season already and who compliment each other really well. What we need is some back up in the event one or more get injured. Breaking the bank for such a player would make no sense but bringing in a young guy who does not expect to walk straight into the first team does. The other thing is by all accounts he is quite pacy. The one glaring gap in our squad earlier in the season was pace. We now have Johnson, Macnamee and Cody to bring off the bench if a bit of pace is required.
Absolutely.  The Stockport fans I''ve been chatting with believe there''s a handy little player in there who had his head turned by Premiership/Championship interest.  6 goals for the League''s lowest scorers isn''t actually that bad, to be fair.Again, I''d love to see Barnard or similar here, but we are the top scorers in this division (possibly English football, not sure on Rochdale''s stats) - we need backup ''just in case'' rather than a big scorer who will sit on the bench.  They won''t come here for that, and we shouldn''t be paying for them to do so.
 15.
MR_Chimp, do you seriously believe Norwich are bigger than Wigan? Who is more ambitious? Can we outbid Wigan for players? Can we offer players premiership football? Would a manager choose Norwich over Wigan? Dont think so mate. Wigan, Burnley etc are a premiership team because they have earned that right, they are not there by fluke or mistake, the same goes for Norwich, we are a League One club, not through a conspirecy or bad luck, because we deserve to be there. If we had a bad couple of seasons and done a Luton and ended up in League Two or the conference would you still consider City to be bigger than Wiga, Burnley etc???
I think that yes, we are bigger than Wigan.  The other points have nothing to do with that.  Leeds, Forest, Saints etc. are all much bigger than Wigan.
 16.
Wigan were a non league outfit till 1978, not that long ago, are they a smaller club than Norwich then mate?
Yes, absolutely.
 17. Curbs would make sense.  Safe pair of hands, knows the division inside out.  Hmm.
 18.
http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=104&fid=297&sty=2&act=1&mid=2123346942Is Lambert even on a proper contract?
Yes, a one year rolling one.
 19. Damn.  I guess our Asda just wasn''t good enough.
 20.
This is a fact...my mate just saw lambert get off a plane at burnley international airport.
Did he go straight to Asda?
 21.

Americanos blue jeans and chinos
haha he is probably about as much use on the pitch as the 49yr old Scouse lead singer of FGTH would be... what a joke of a signing... may as well of planned to keep hold of Cureton!
You condascending twat. You know nothing of this lad.
I know he has only scored 7 goals in his entire career so far. Most of his appearances have been as sub however so maybe he does have some potential.  This signing may make you happy but it does nothing for me.  We have two young strikers in MacDonald and Daley who need to develop in order to make the step up to regular first team action and could well do without a 3rd in my opinion.  We need to be signing a proven striker at this level and at the value for money asking price of £250k for Lee Barnard City should be pushing the boat out to ensure that we are signing a player who can step up to the mark now!
You see, you''ve made the exact same point as before, only in a way that doesn''t instantly get people''s backs up and is conducive to reasonable discussion.  It''s not too hard is it, Smudger? ;)It''s a very fair point, to be fair.  If we have a bit of cash floating about for a striker I would like to see us mixing it with the bigger boys for a Barnard or maybe trying to grab a decent Championship loan - Gary Hooper or someone similar.  That said, I''m sure Lambert has seen something in the lad.  Look forward to seeing what it is!
 22.
Post on the Burnley Mad site saying it''s going to be Neil Warnock and that betting on him has been suspended!
To be fair, I''d love him to be him for selfish reasons, but it would be a pretty decent appointment.  Don''t think there''s much in it if they''re serious about getting a ''young, hungry'' manager when dear old Colin has said himself that he saw Palace as his last job before retirement.  Then again, he was happy to be linked with Sheff Wednesday earlier in the week...
Well if ''Norwich Mad'' are saying so....who?
 24.
All those claiming it is a 12 month rolling contract then please post a link to your source. I can''t find anything other than he signed a "rolling contract" from news reports of when he took charge here.  I seem to remember Lambert mentioning something that he could only be here for a dozen or half a dozen games if things went badly and hinting that he was pretty much serving here on a game by game basis when he first took over also.
I have.  Can you link to those quotes from Lambert please? One thing that has struck me, and reassured me, is the idea that Burnley are looking for someone young, hungry, after a challenge.  While Lambert fits the bill on the first two characteristics, he already has a challenge that he seems to be relishing right here with us.
