1. Drury was okay, luckily the winger he was playing against wasn''t the quickest.  Having Lappin track back helped a lot as between them they were able to thwart most attacks from pools right.
 2.
I find it odd that everyone thought Jamie played well, even Lambo...........and yet you...............
He won nothing that was put his way and you can count the passes he complete on hand.  For a pro footballer to be bent over gasping for breath after 50 minutes in is not a good sign.  This was just before we score the second and were having a few corners so I was about 10 feet away from him!
 3. Whoops.  McVeigh would''ve scored a 7 had I remembered to put it in!  Daley did chase a lot but I was left with the impression he could probably have run quicker and won the ball, it seemed like he was stuck in 2nd gear to me.  Hartlepool''s defenders looked relatively immobile to me.
 4. As this was the closest game of the season for me at about 30 miles I thought I''d give my post match report.Firstly, make no mistake this was a battle I would say the ball spent about 70% of the time in the air.  However much to my surprise we weren''t the shrinking violets that we usually turn out to be in away games, we actually got stuck in and gave as good as we got.  Having got to the game about 5 minutes before kickoff (a few too many beers in a near by pub!) I wasn''t aware who was starting so had to find out as the game went on.  First noticeable change was the keeper with Forster starting, I have to say I was quite impressed with him, he won everything in the air and was quite brave at going into crowds.  Saying that I think he only had one save to make the whole game. The next change was Nelson who I thought had a really good game, the only way to describe him is no nonsense!  Nothing got past him but his distribution and game plan was simple, get it as far away from goal as quickly as possible and it worked.  His goal was top draw, he''ll ache tomorrow if he didn''t stretch well as I didn''t think people of his size could be that acrobatic!Other than those 2 changes we were the same as the Wycombe game, that worked so why change?  We started off pretty well putting some good passing moves together but as the game progressed it became more of a battle of who could header it the hardest, the pitch was very narrow so there wasn''t a lot of space or time on the ball.Once the second goal went in we looked a lot more confident  and composed and started to play really well, at this point Hughes was getting his foot on the ball and starting to make things happen. My only criticism was that Cureton was on for far to long, he looked exhausted by around 50 minutes which surprised me as he did nothing all game.  It was good to finally see Norwich not get bullied on the road but in truth Hartlepool were a very poor side that offered very little attacking threat.  The jury is still out for me until I see us turn over more teams in similar type games.Forster 6 - did everything that was asked of him but had little to do.Semi 6 - looked ok at the back but did not get forward much/if at all.Askou 7 - solid at the back, some good headers and blocks.Nelson 8 - took his goal well and and was solid at the back.McVeigh - tried to get the ball down whenever possible and put some good crosses in.Hughes 7 - very quiet first half, came to life once he scored which was well worked with Holt and coolly finished.Smith 8* - my man of the match, don''t think there was a blade of grass he didn''t cover, this kid has a hell of a future if he carries on like thisLappin 7 - a good game, supported the midfield/attack and tracked back well when needed, seems to be a lot better under LambertHolt 8 - Ran the pool centre halves ragged, this guy has an awesome work ethic.  Nice touches and link up play.  Unlucky with a diving header but should of squared a ball to Daley rather than shoot himself near the end.Cureton 5 - Really can''t see what he offers the team, is slow uncomposed and clearly not match fit, should not of come out second half.Adeyemi 6 - got stuck in when he came on and looked lively.Daley 5 - for someone that''s supposed to have lots of pace he didn''t beat any player in a race for balls over the top.  Got the impression he couldn''t be bothered.Cody n/a - only got about 2 minutes but got a great reception of ''England''s number one''!All in all a good day out.  Next game Carlisle!
 5.

Anyone travelling make sure you get a ticket in advance as it''s all ticket for Norwich. Away supporters get less then a 1000 allocation.
I understand you can now pay on at the gate with 200 tickets left.  I hope this is right as I going, and its a long way to go for nowt!
And now for that in English!! I understand you can now pay at the gate with 200 tickets left.  I hope this is right as I''m going and its a long way to go for nowt!
Where did you hear this?  A mate and me are going as its the closest game all season for us but were just going to sit/stand in the home end as we''d left it too late to order tickets and get them sent up to us!
 6. I was going to suggest this.  I''d partner Cody with Holt for home and ''easier'' away games then for harder games play Hoolahan off Holt in a hole between attack and midfield, that way he''s free to roam and won''t leave the left side exposed like when he plays on the wing.
 7.

Norwich is a real pain in the backside to get to!  Now being exiled up north I can see how bad transport (road) links are.  I actually came back this weekend for the Wycome game and it takes as long to do the 90 miles between Norwich and the A1M as it does the second 130 odd miles north bound!  The A17 and A47 are aweful roads that really need to be dueled all the way, unfortunately because of the cost that is never going to happen.
Not our fault you live in some northern sh*thole pal...personally I think we should dig a trench on the Lincs border.
Lol.  What a mature and informed response, something I’ve have learnt to love and expect from the average pinkun poster. Can’t really see how you can argue with my point, the rest of the country is connected with motorways and decent train links, Norwich simply isn’t, hence people say it is remote.I would suggest living somewhere else before writing off an entire region of the country.

 9. The transfer window has nothing to do with anything that has been mentioned above! It was created to please the EU as EU law states labour is allowed allowed to freely move between member countries. This would have meant getting rid of transfer fees and contracts as footballers would have been treated as workers like u and me. This would have destroyed football. A compremise was made and the transfer window was born. Blame the EU for this mess.
 10.
What a complete and utter disaster. Never in my wildest nightmares did I think this would happen, I can barely function I''m so angry.
To be honest after number 3 I''m just finding it funny.  It just doesn''t seem real.
 11. Just when I thought it really couldn''t get worse than last season.
 12. Quite pleased with this, saw him make his debut in that Leicester match mentioned on the home page and he put in a blinder.  It looks like he''s in covering whilst Rudd is on England duty and Steer is out.  Good call, now for some strikers.
 13.
I''ve always considered Mcveigh to be a clever player and if he can get most of what he had back i''d risk him.
I agree but we also have Hoolahan in the same mold, I''m not sure we could play them in the same side as they are both small, very small!  It would however give us a bit of depth, we clearly missed Hoolahan in the last few games of last season.
 14. If we can keep him for next season that will be a massive plus providing we have some decent strikers for him to feed (him and Cody running of Lee would be deadly).  Like people have already mentioned he did it in this league for Blackpool so there is no reason why he can''t for us and it''s clear we are building a big side around him so that should hopefully offer the cover he needs to shine.  If we can keep Clingan as well we may actually have a shot at a half tidy team.
 15. *between them.Damn this forum needs an edit button! :P
 16.
I think it could be because they don''t know anything and just love trying to make themselves look important by pretending that they do. They even start two identical threads on the same subject in an attempt to double the illusion. Best advice I can give is simply ignore them and they just might go away.
Spot on, we had exactly the same thing last close season with the Cullum saga and look what happened there.  The fact that the 2 threads on this subject have over 6000 views between is quite frankly ridiculous but shows how desperate we are for some good news.  Unfortunately this is just another run of the mill rumor which has absolutely no evidence behind it.
 17. If I remember rightly though half this board moaned that Worthy got a years payoff when he was eventually sacked.Onto the debate in hand, I think we need an experienced manager but believe Gun will get it as he is the cheap option.  If we do go down I''d like us to look at somebody with a proven track record of promotions/playoff finishes in league 1, so at least we have somebody who knows what it takes to get out of it.  Give him a one year fixed contract (unlikely I know) that way we are not massively tied and see what he can do.  Unfortunately I have to keep referring to League 1 managers as ''him'' and ''he'' as my knowledge on that league is limited at best.  Looks like I''ll be having at least a year to get better though! : /
 18. This is all ifs and buts though.  There is no reason not to consider that the goals he scored at Barnsley wouldn''t have been scored by a different player if he wasn''t starting.  You can more accurately point the finger at him for the numerous missed chances in a yellow shirt which could arguably have won us another 3-9 points making this whole debate irrelevant.  At the end of the day blaming those 2 goals is pointless we have not been good enough, blame any of the players who have conceeded the 8 odd penalties we have conceeded or blame Marshall for not saving them, the reffing decisions which have ruled out a couple of ''good'' goals the list is endless.  Bottom line is we are poor and are where we deserve to be, but it makes for an exciting few weeks! ;-)
 19. I love the way this has turned into a Mac vs Pc thread from a simple IE8 issue.  As a professional that has worked with both platforms I would say both have their own merits.  Before my last job I had never touched a Mac apart from the odd class that I had to teach however once I had to use 2 on a proper production workflow, I really did quite enjoyed using them, the software packages on them integrated so well which doesn''t happen on a Windows platform.  However, I beleive that is also their greatest weakness as it is such a closed platform your choice of software compared to Windows is very limited. As said above Vista haters usually fall into two categories those that have never used it or those trying to run it on out of date hardware, its a perfectly good OS and will do the everything the average user wants it to do.  The problem with Windows is a few technically incompetant people get it and can''t work out whats going on, break it and then moan about it.  9/10 times this is user ignarence on not knowing the OS, they then go on and moan about it to all their friends and family and is cascades from there - people like band wagons and something to moan about - look at this forum!  When I got stuck using a Mac, rather than moaning about it I usually found a simple Google would solve most of my problems.Like many others on here I have an iPod touch and think its a great peice of kit, way over priced  for what it is as obviously it carries the standard ''Apple Tax'' (got mine at a very cut down price), however, iTunes is the biggstest pile of ..... ever.  The fact that anyhing i* is tied to it is very annoying when all I want to do is drag and drop onto it, the fact that I also cannot take stuff off it and use it elsewhere is quite frankly criminal. - I''ve paid for the stuff I should be abe to use it on what ever I like!Anywhooo.  Back onto the origninal topic yes, compatibility mode will fix the problem most times, IE8 is a step in the right direction, fellow web devlopers will know how much of a pain IE6 was and to a lesser extent IE7, to who ever above said they never had any issues with IE6, that was because the sites you visit have had good developers and therefor your will not notice its shortfall of the browser, usually you have to build 2 versions of a site, one that works in IE and another that works in everything else! Firefox is my choice of browser because of its speed and addons although IE8 has closed the gap significantly and is getting a fair bit of use.Anyway don''t judge my spelling as I''ve been on the beer since 5 and the above makes sense to me!PS on the topic of football.  I reckon we might just stay up! ; )
 20.
I find it strange that he has us down to lose to Sheff Wed at home. This is one of our best chances of three points IMO.
I think they have beaten us on pretty much every occaison we have met in the last 3 years.
 21. I have to agree with pretty much everything that has been written in this thread.  One thing that does keep getting mentioned though is sell big buy small.  This is nothing new with this club and has been the trend for years before the Delia regime came into place.  The difference now is the last few managers we''ve had buying small do not have an eye for a good player like previous managers.  If I remember rightly most of our european team were made up of cheap cast offs and our own kids.  If you look at the last 3-4 years at the rest of this divisions transfers there are many which could have been classed quality cheap signings, we just never seem to be anywhere near them, however we all have a degree in hindsight!  - This is not a defence of the board, I''d like to see them gone, I''m merely pointing out we have done this for years.
 22.
Hopefully D''Urso will now be suspended/ relagated to the lower leagues!
Come on BC be fair lower leagues shouldn''t have to put up with him either!
 23. Oh dear.  If Gunny seems so intent on bringing the the old boys back how about Bellamy, Earny and Green?  I''d suggest Ashton as well but I believe he''s injured.  People have told him Eadie, Iwan and Flem have retired right?
