1. Shyster is spot on with how lined up although at times in the first half it did almost look like a 4-4-2 with Chris Martin on the left and Wes upfront with Holt. I have to agree with the comment of playing McNamee on the right when he''s a left footer. The one time him and Wes swapped wings it bore fruit so I was surprised when they changed it back. One thing is clear though and that is that 4-4-2 does not suit us when McNamme and Wes are in the same team as there is no natural balance. A better class of opposition would have exploited this today.
2. Another northern exile here, so just back. I have a completely different view of the game to you! I thought we looked tired, lethargic and lacking in creativity! If we had been playing against a decent side today I think we would have lost comfortably. Our main problem was the centre of midfield which I thought were well off the pace and second to every ball that was going. The second half we were getting sucked deeper and deeper. I thought Holty was brilliant and put himself about and hounded Oldham well and was rewarded with a deserved goal. Forster''s save in the second half was exceptional and I though Doc defended well. Overall a good result but the performance just wasn''t there for me - a sign of a good team as they say! Funny how people see things differently!
3. "Tangible Fixed Assets anyone? - Carlisle, Hartlepool and Stockport......places of character." Spooky, that''s all the away games I''ve managed this season! Probably liked Hartlepool the most as it was the closest. Off to Oldham next week. :P
4. If we remain undefeated that will be a good run but I can''t see why we can''t take all 9 points.
5. Certainly wouldn''t. As I''ve said in a previous thread we are the form team of this division and if we''re worried about millwall away we may as well not bother turning up to any away games next season if we go up.
6.

RobhinoPlease Robhino.......... What ???
We were on the verge of signing P.Viera but he chose M.City because they paid him £10 more a week...money talks [;)]
Probably for the best, not sure he''d be getting in the team as Rusty has made that holding role his own! ;-)
7. Might be a preview/speculation of the accounts before they''re published. Either way I don''t expect it to be exciting.
8.
European squads and World Cup squads manage on far less than the 50 players on the books of the top clubs. They only use how many? 25 or 30?
You can''t really compare an 8 game international tournament over a month to a top 4 prem side who could play around 60 games over the course of 8-9 months. Although I think they''re jessys moaning about playing a couple of games a week.
9. Thank god we got in at 0-0, that sounded a poor half. I''d certainly think about getting Hughes on for the second half.
10.

I hate saying this but I agree with what Blah copied from me!![:D] Wiz there is no new investment yet. This is purely debt restructuring, find the lady work. Answers prepared before the questions. So don''t go giving yourself another nasty turn of excitement!![:D] Go back to hex''s and leave future telling to Mystic Meg.
As you''re a respected poster on here Butler, I''d normally agree with you, but its the quote in red, coupled with THAT rumour of mine which has got my hopes up: Those reasons could involve trying to secure extra finance as part of the club''s financial restructuring, something which looks likely to be clarified at the Canaries'' annuual meeting next year
Surely that could be something as simple as a new bank loan or shifting our existing ones elsewhere?  Ideally I''d like nice weathly person to chuck some cash in but I don''t think its likely in the current climate. : /
11. Look fine right now in Fire Fox (3.0.15 - really need to update!) here.  Have you got any weird addons installed?
12. Have to agree with the original post, as disapointing as a defeat is its in a cup competition we have no chance in winning. It was annoying that we didn''t show up second half and had the ref had a decent set of eyes to spot hand balls and blatent pushes it may have been different but we should have played to the whistle. Hopefully this is now the wake up call we needed to realise its not simply a case of turning up and the win magically appears as we''re ''a big fish in a small pond''. Having gone to the league game there I thought we were lucky to come away with the win as the game was strangely very similar, its just that today they turned pressure in to goals. I expect to see a few changes made for Tuesday as far to many players had an off day today.
13.
Have mentioned this on the other Russel AMrtin thread, but have noticed that his loan finishes on his 24th birthday... you know what that means through the Bosman ruling...? Less cash to pay to Posh if a permanent move. Gotta keep and eye on Lambert, he''s no fool!!
According to the article on the home page he''s still got 18 months on his Posh contract so I don''t think that will play much of a factor.
14. What I found annoying about it was that it was as long  if not longer than the highlights of the game!  I''d have liked to have seen Forsters save rather than that!
15. On current form I would fancy our chances in any of those matches.  To be honest if we can''t beat those we wouldn''t stand much of a chance if we went back up into the Championship! :)
16. Me, the mrs and a mate are thinking of going as we''re in Manchester that weekend for a gig, but I''m really concerned about the tickets not arriving in the post.
17. Problem is as mentioned on a different thread they are only 3 points adrift as its such a poor league this year.  Any other year and they would have been miles behind.
18. This build up has gotten way out of control, with the way people are going on I''d have thought we were playing in the Champions League final against Real Madrid or something.  Its just another (winnable) league 1 game that happens to be on the telly against a team who like us are in this division for a very good reason.
19. Just got back as well so I''ll pop my report in here then!Well just got back from a very weird and frustrating game.  The whole team seems to have caught Hoolanatitis!  This is a game that really could have ranged from 4-0 to a 2-1 defeat. We started well and played some nice passing footy, Carlisle had a brief spell before we scored and went on to dominate the rest of the half.  Second half started as the first and we played some nice following football.  However during these spells we created several goal scoring opportunities only for the player in possession to try and take it round an extra player or pass it when the ball was begging to be walloped at goal from about 6 yards out.  Several players were guilty of this not just Hoops but his influence seems to have rubbed off on everyone else.  We are not Arsenal we can’t simple walk the ball into the net! This seemed to spur Carlisle on as we should have been well clear at this point, the last 35 minutes were nonstop Carlisle pumping balls forward.  Not sure where the midfield had gone at this point but we were incredibly deep however, the never say die attitude that has been installed into the side worked wonders at the other end of the pitch and we weren’t breached and clung on for a 1-0.Individually the only player that stood out for me the whole game was Jens who was an absolute rock. Doc had a shaky start and gave away a few free kicks in bad places but also put in some very good blocks later on.Francomb for his league debut he did okay.  Was caught out of position a few times as he loved to bomb forward.  He was singled out by Carlisle who always placed a big player by him as he seriously lacks strength.  Most of their attacks were aimed down their left.  He did make some very good recovery tackles but I feel he is more one for the future than a first team regular at present. When they were on form Russell and Smith bossed the midfield and would be a partnership I would definitely try and keep together.Forster pulled off an excellent save at the end to keep a clean sheet.Overall it was pleasing to come away with a win having not had a played that great and taken chances when they were there.  We certainly have some steel in the side now and I can’t remember the last time we wouldn’t crumble after a bit of pressure. One last word, our support today was fantastic great numbers and noisy throughout, feel for everyone on a bus back to Norwich but at least they’re taking an away win home with them.
20. Making the trip from Darlington with me mate.  Should only take a couple of hours on the train.  Looking forward to the beer festival as well.  That may be all I do if Royal mail don''t get their act together and get me my tickets!
21.
Now after 5 years of service, player of the season in 2006, and came close on a couple of other occasions, Dotherty has been thrown out! Nice way to treat players! Not! So Nelson is better is he? How many player of the season awards will he win? How about zero! So the Doc might not be in the best form right now, but all players go in and out of form. The way Lambert is treating players is starting to get on my nerves! Big time!
I''d imagine they would have performed to a similar standard this season, however, I''d bet good money that Doc is on at least double what Nelson is so needs to be shipped out. It''ll be interesting to see where he ends up, he was not  good enough for Prem -> Championship -> League 1.  It''s no coincidence that we became defensively poor around the same time he joined the club...  Personally I''ve agreed with nearly everything Lambert has done so far barring the repeated starts or barndoor.
22.
Imo, tthe officials were appalling! Holt had zero protection all night.
Quite right.  I loved how Holt got elbowed in the head in the second half yet they got the free kick?!!
23. Have to agree that we looked good until Hughes and Drury went off.  The ref clearly needs to get some control of those dirty * otherwise we''re gonna end this game with about 8 players.
24. I think its great that they''re banned from talking to the media.  How many times have we heard them say we must perform better, we owe the fans more etc.  Its about time they started talking on the pitch with performances and results than making excuses and false promises in the press.
25.
Law of probability suggests that he will score soon and I hope it will be today. Funny.how I get the feeling that some posters wouldn''t like it if he did score. They''re too comfortable in their barndoor/banjo jibes. It''s all been said before but he was a very good striker and there is no doubt that Roeder destroyed his confidence and self-belief. If he can rediscover that then he will be a major asset in this league this season.,
I have no problem with him going on a scoring run but there is no evidence of it happening.  My fear would be him scoring today and getting a run of 5 games and not then scoring again until the fifth.  However, we seem to be winning whilst he is in the side even though I''m yet to see what he is contributing so can''t really complain.
