I really don''t buy all these theories of Lambert using this situation to improve his transfer kitty and own contract and DM having to persuade him to stay. The club clearly stated that they would not grant permission for him to speak to Burnley and Lambert clearly said he was ''happy'' with the club''s statement. As far as I''m concerned that was the end of it. The meeting between McNally and Lambert before the press conference yesterday would have been McNally telling Lambert to not comment on the speculation. Burnley''s release of the approach to the public had two purposes. 1. An amateurish way to please their fans into thinking they were aiming high. 2. To unsettle Lambert in case our board did give him permission. I have to agree with the main points of this thread. There is no way we can predict when the cold weather will hit. In my short 28 years only the last 2 years and once when I was at primary school has snow stopped anything. I''m sure we just used to get on with it! On the whole Christmas schedule thing. As a fan I love it. I don''t get this whole fatigue thing. These are professional athletes after all. I''m pretty certain I remember stories of the ''good old days'' where they used to play 2 days running.

Pre season I was hoping for a mid table finish, now I think we could make a serious playoff bid providing our injury list doesn''t get any worse. From what I have seen I don''t think there are any teams to really be fearful of, we''ve done the top 2 away and although we''ve only taken 1 point I''d have to stay we pretty much matched them. My only concerns are not keeping Barnett for the rest of the season and our bench. Tudor-Jones, Nelson and Johnson are not game changers at this level. On the plus side we still have 5-6 players to come back from injury.

As a canary up north I am severely out numbered and it does amaze me the fans Leeds have where I am as its still pretty far away from Leeds. Anyway back ''home'' you clearly have had different experiences with Leeds fans to me as one of my best mates, brother in law and work mates are all Leeds fans and I''d say the banter has been no different to that with any other fans.

Likewise I''d have cody on the bench over oli any day. I thought last year he did ok when was asked to play. I''d like to think his loan has been arranged with a view to play for us next year as oli clearly isn''t going to judging on the season so far.

Funny enough one of my best mates and my brother in law are Leeds fans. They seem to break the norm as I can have decent banter with them. I do enjoy telling them they were first place losers last year! Looking forward to taking £20 from my mate and his bro next summer at his wedding when we finish above them!
