2 goals tonight against Tours FC in the Coupe de France...a team in the Ligue 2 relegation zone, 18th out of 20 -
From what I saw vs PSG on Weds evening TV NOTHING has changed. Lightweight, poor touch , no presence at all. And still prone to meet a worldy save when he does get his one chance, this time a three yard header.We''ll be lucky if they do want him for anything like a decent price -

In 1995 we were 6th wth 20 matches left . We won 1 in 20 took 10 points out of 60 and went down.
In 2012/13 we were 7th on Dec 15 with 21 matches left.
In 1995 we took 9 points from the first twelve of the 20 match slide. This season we have taken 8 points from the first 12.
Both seasons feature the same things. Boring negative run of home draws in Jan and Feb , away day no shows.
Negative managers, key players injured or not performing. Over reliance on one defender staying fit.(Newsome/Bassong)

40 away games without a win, two seasons worth of rubbish..manager has got the team set up all wrong -

Agree that £ 30 is a rdiculous price.
One thing about the Reading ''generosity'' over prices is that their game is live on TV whereas ours is not.

Swansea could play a big part in the relegation battle as they play 4 of the bottom five .
The difference is that we have a far harder run in.
Suddenly 4 of the bottom five are looking good against anyone in the division
We need to dig out a performance against teams on form when we clearly are on a down.

This campaign starts to have the feel of 94-5 all over again.
Comfortable at one stage, looking good even ( 6th at New Year), a woeful F A Cup exit (at Everton), then a number of decent away performances with little or no reward and zero good fortune ( West Ham Leicester Tottenham, Leeds amongst others ).
A single home win to make people think we are safe (3-0 over Ipswich in 94-5), then a slide into disaster, with a home game against Villa to finish.
Hopefully it won''t go as badly wrong this time
But I wouldn''t rule it out as it stands, with a tricky April to come.

Description of Ipswch''s efforts today...Salt and boiling water !..........Referee Hegley explained: “I turned up at the ground about 12.30pm and immediately spoke to the Ipswich groundsman, he highlighted a number of areas of the pitch that were of concern to him. “I looked at it and some of it was under thick frost, he said he could work on it so I gave him 45 minutes until 1.15pm – where he put large amounts of salt and boiling water in the hope that it would soften it up. “Some areas did soften up but unfortunately it became inconsistent where there was still large amounts of frost and soft areas and the safety of the players running at full tilt – getting a stud in one area which stops nicely and then the next area where they slip - the safety of the players is of paramount importance to me. -
One more to add to the mix...just after City lost to Millwall to end that brilliant run to the top, they went to Brighton on a freezing day and were outplayed for the first hour and 1-0 down till 80 minutes. Really thought the season was about to fold, but Holt and then Doc''s last goal for City turned it around in the last ten. As we had Southampton the following week ( who beat City comfortably at CR ) the win at Brighton was vital to keep City in the lead... -
Percy Varco 65 games...47 goals All time City goalscoring legend. Grant Holt 65 games ( plus 1 sub ) ...41 goals . THAT IS HOW GOOD HE IS.. -
A very pro-Millwall report in the Times stated that we were very unimpressive considering we were at full strength compared to the decimated Millwall team who bravely grabbed a point against the odds. -
Holt....leader, focal point of the team and biggest goal threat. Simple really. -

I did the same as Holt, except I stayed away from everything till just before 5...it was the last of the promotions to be mentioned...and a real shock, given how unlikely it was to be settled on Saturday ! -
Of the ones I attended Leeds at home for the result and atmosphere... Brentford home for winning with 10 men and Lambert gambling with three at the back...Yeovil away in the Cup, best possible tonic for the 1-7 and realising that Holt was a bit special...Paulton away just a brilliant day out.... other favourite moment on TV Yeovil away in the league, Docs reaction when he scores the equaliser ! -
Pity the players are acting like that as well. Outfught in every department, two miore soft goals conceded....only one team out there looked prepared to give their all. Unless they get going again we could struggle to get another win this season. -
As a Hampshire teacher who chose NOT to travel today after three days off I appreciate your concern. So nice of you to pick out teachers from the millions who didn''t get to work owing to the worst snowfall in 30 years. Of course, us teachers made our own decision not to work, it wasn''t head teachers who closed the schools following LEA guidelines. OTBC -
So many happy memories...one personal favourite was the brilliant solo effort away at Plymouth in 2005 to rescue a point from nothing and make a long journey home a lot easier. While Hucks was in the team there was always hope for a moment of magic like that.....deserved member of an NCFC all time best eleven. -
Agreed...we looked so good while he was on the field and for about 20 minutes I thought we were going to win easily against a below strength MK ....kicking both Drury and Hughes was their way back in...and tryng get Holt injured as well. Sadly, in the end we could not cope.....
