1. Let me preface this by saying I love Wes. Our longest serving player by far who destroyed defences in League One and the Championship and has proven he is a genuine Premiership player.However... I just think under Hughton he''s never going to shine. At the tip of a diamond with two strikers and two combatative midfielders he is the business but playing in a 4-4-1-1/4-5-1 is not his forte, especially away from home with long balls, no support and crowded out by the opposition all too easily. If a Championship team offered a couple of million I''d say sell but probably not to one of our Premiership rivals mainly on principle.Again, I love him as a player but he''s not really getting any game time and would be nice for him to end his career by playing week in, week out. If he were to stay with us until the end of his career then great!
2. Still a long way to go and, in all honesty, Hughton is fulfilling his remit as manager on paper. The Worthy protestations were a result of the team - in certain opinions - performing vastly under expectations.
3. Am I the only one who remembers people''s avatars more than their names? Never ceases to confuse me when people change their pictures and there are posters like ''Wings of a Sparrow'' that I just think of as Muse. Also was it Morty who had the photo of a lady with some *ahem* guinea pigs. Walking Man with The Scream, Jas will always be Leon McKenzie scoring and so on.
4. I stand corrected on Camel. I''m getting older and my memory is not what it used to be....
5. I don''t disagree with any of your points, Nutty; my main concern is simply the ratios/proportion has shifted between these different groups and characters. And a lot of really good posters have gone AWOL. As a case-in-point, I can never think of you Nutty without thinking of your main sparring rival Bly. Is he still around? I haven''t seen him/her post in donkeys''.Mr Trucker, if memory proves correct, Camel Dung was indeed a Col U fan but was on this forum because he worked for Archant (it was also the time when Norwich and Colchester were in the same league as each other)
6. This has always been my favourite forum - never posted on Wrath and stopped posting on the NCFC one when I was still using dial-up. In fact this is the only forum I post on on the entire internet. There are a great many intelligent and reasoned posters on here and I have read countless posts that made me think or made me laugh out loud. I don''t want to name names because it''s really unfair on those I might have forgotten but there definitely are many posters who seem to have disappeared. Even the ''trolls'' used to be fairly original and entertaining to a degree in the shape of Smudger, Cluck, We8WBA etc.Now the site seems awash with sock-puppets and little private in-jokes or threads about absolutely nothing. As I said, there are lots of good posters left behind but they are becoming heavily diluted.Did it all stem from the KTF vs WO time? Was there a crack there that has never healed when sometimes things got very personal between posters?
7. Afraid so, Til. Personally I have more respect for any local fan (even those from Ipswich) than a glory-hunter. I grew up right on the border between Norfolk-Suffolk and enjoyed plenty of banter between us and Them. However this banter was reasoned and tongue-in-cheek compared to the arrogant, condescending Arsenal and Man Utd ''fans'' in my school.
8. Better an Ipswich fan from Ipswich than a Chelsea or Liverpool fan from Norwich.
9. Look East''s sport has always been: a) massively pro-Ipswich and b) absolutely awful. I gave up years ago when Shaun Peel used to use the sport as a platform to get as many awful puns as he could into 45 seconds covering 8 clubs.
10. I wouldn''t just say bridges had been burnt but spat on, defaced, torn down, burnt and then had the ashes urinated on
11. Slightly premature but I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments. Merry Christmas one and all; be you canary, scummer, sock puppet or Wiz
12. Libra vs Man CityAshton vs Newcastle (Safri''s stole the show but Kluivert had equalised with about 2 minutes to go)Jackson vs DerbyJackson vs PortsmouthRoberts vs Birmingham P/O finalAll 5 at Portman Rd!!!
13.
Can we have some sort of "Cody of the year" trophy awarded alongside the Barry butler trophy?
[Y]
14. Especially after some of the chanting we gave him when he was Wallsall boss
15. No because so many of the regular posters are starting to drift away from the sock-puppet-infested board here and the sock-puppets will be quiet
16. The whole ''I want Norwich to lose'' has now gone completely full-circle and is simply just a poor self-parody of itself. Wasn''t funny nor interesting to begin with. It''s the new Asda.
17. I think there are a very, very small number of Norwich fans who want us to lose games. It''s just the power of the internet which seems to magnify it. Most are probably sock puppets and/or Ipswich fans anyway. Can this myth of loads of Norwich fans wanting us to lose please be knocked on the head?
18. I get what you''re trying to say - their are probably politics, bitching and friendship circles in every profession on the planet - but the whole thing is completely unrelatable psychologically and lifestyle-wise - to the vast, vast majority of us; we aren''t multi-millionaires who only have to work a few hours a week. It''s not always possible to just compare work-places because they''re so far removed from each other. They might get grief from the crowd but no more grief than police, teachers, nurses, taxi-drivers, ambulance crews, prison officers, soldiers etc etc.The adulation they receive when doing their jobs properly is probably far in excess of many others. The money they earn is probably far in excess of many others.
