  1. Three teams promoted last season, now rooted at the bottom of the PL. My bet is that three of them almost certain the be relegated. The three will probably sack the managers who worked minor miracles to get them up. A few managers later nothing will have changed ( after all they all can’t get Colin at the same time) clearly every season the gap gets wider and wider. It’s almost getting to be impossible to stay there. while some clubs like Chelsea continue to total waste money with no improvement, others newly promoted have to survive on the weekly wage of a couple of Chelsea players waste. Lve football but absolutely hate what it has become.
  2. If there was no need to sell, then why were two players openly put up for sale just as the window opened? Webber spoke openly about that himself. Always been a selling club, will always be a selling club.
  3. After they went three up, after some really good football, what did they do then? Go for the jugular, no they started to play around in their own goal area. Which they are that good at. That is where this very entertaining game completely eased off for me.
  4. Sadly no one will ever make a Grant Holt. Best thing Gunn Senior ever did was bring him to Norwich
  5. Reminds me of the young Sterling before he left Liverpool for Man City. If he carries on in this form he will command a very big transfer fee. Big question, as always with such young players, keeping them away from night clubs, betting shops, and of course greedy agents!!
  6. Remember the best Centre forward ever here. Ron was bought fromLuton for £35,000. Was fantastic here. Then sold to Southampton for £55,000. Best header of a football I’ve ever seen. Over the years little has changed in the mantra of our club. Begs another Question, what on earth would a player Like Ron be worth in today’s silly market place.
  7. Not yet quite as good as Emi, BUT in time he will be. Need as least another full season from him. But know City’s mantra anything could happen if the offer was good. BUT TODAYS GOAL WAS FANTISTIC……….
  8. The Daily Mail reports today that our average season ticket at £635 is the most expensive in our division. Bearing in mind what an average season we may well have, poor value. Taking advantage of a captive audience, with nearest league club 50 miles away. SORRY DID NOT SEE EARLIER POST ON THIS SUBJECT.
  9. Fact is that when SW made it clear that two of our players were up for sale, doesn’t put you in the driving seat to get the best price. If these two are as good as some think, then other clubs would approach us first. It give the appearance of being a fire-sale, which is just what it is.
  10. I thought we did well to sell him for the amount we got from Newcastle. He had great ability going forward, but rarely used it. When he did it was then a pass sideways, of more often behind him, and the momentum of his pace going forward was lost. Never really cracked on at Newcastle.
  11. Its what all ex manager do Lambert bought some in from Colchester. Bought in Russel Martin who I think was with him a Wycombe. If you bring in player and staff you have worked with, it’s the only way to know an individuals true character.Just watching them from afar will never ever tell you that.
  12. Sadly football as we know it, died the day the Russian bought Chelsea.
  13. At the point of Daniel Farke being appointed manager at Leeds, I wish him well. He delivered to us the best football ever seen by a Norwich team, an absolute joy to watch. Frankly I could never understand why other Championship clubs did not hire him then given his excellent records here. It brings up the Question what have we gained by sacking him in 2021. We all know Webber should have bit the dust not Farke. Webber even admitted he sent Farke to war in the PL without ammunition. So two managers later, we have gained nothing, back to where we were before Farke arrived. Same at Leeds, they sacked a manager, Marcelo Bielsa, adored by Leeds fans, not an easy thing to do there, in February 2022. Three managers later what have they gained, nothing, back in the Championship where Bielsa found them. It makes me think that people in charge, as sporting directors will sack a competent manager, to take the heat of themselves.
  14. I think that some time ago Webber thought that there would be a queue of clubs after him. He did say at one time he wanted to work abroad. Those days have well and truly gone. He should now be of garden leave, not still having every say in recruiting , when clearly his heart is not in the job at hand. He has been given too much of a free rein . As far as his wife still working here after he leave is beyond belief. That would be a total conflict of interest to say the least.
  15. Gone are the days, when we called the new river end the Justin stand. Build with the £1m Forest paid City for him. If things carry on as they have in terms of performances, the present stands will be able to cope!
  16. Bournemouth manager sacked for keeping team in PL against all the odds. Sheff Weds manager sacked after getting team promoted against all the odds, after the heavy semi defeat v Peterborough. Love football, hate what it’s become!! .
  17. Not sure about moving on. more like moving backward!
  18. I’ve often wondered how much say a player has on transfers. Suppose Declan Rice want to stay in London with Arsenal, who offers less for him than Manchester Utd. As money is everything in the mad world of PL football, could he insist on joining Arsenal, or could West Ham insist he joins the club who offers the ostrich money. I bet somebody on here will know how this works.
  19. They and Coventry certainly prove that in the Champs money is not everything. These teams display a togetherness that we have not seen here since Farke left. Their combined spend is probably less than 50% of ours. Lambert and Farke never had much to spend, yet achieved more than any of us thought possible.
  20. Frankly he has done nothing extraordinary. Why would he be in demand.
  21. Neither stood a chance with this awful squad they inherited. while we happily sell out best players it will never change.
  22. If as the Boss you continue to sack the people you yourself have appointed…….time to look in the mirror! Even if the mirror is held for him by Zoe. He is so far up D&M rear part, he is here until a completely new owner is in place.
  23. So Would you ever consider going back to play under Webber, who sacked you rather than shoulder the blame. No I thought not
  24. Over the recent promotions and relegations in recent years, it has been very obvious to me that there is no way this could continue. it seems to me that has been Webbers game plan all along. Perhaps that was the task he was set by the owners. I think perhaps it’s time, we realised, with the current business model in place, where we are now tenth is where we will stay . You can change the managers as often as you like, but as long as our business model only allow us to buy cheap and sell high, there is very little they can do. Its only when we look back what a miraculous job Farke did under those conditions.
