1. Fozzy reminds me a little of Mulryne. Wants to get the ball down, and pick his pass. Something we havent had for a while. While he isnt Premiership class, as one poster just mentioned, he is a huge improvement on Hughes, Ethuhu and Robinson.
2. Awful performance from everyone, so hence the low ratings. Marshall - 5.5 - made one top save in the first half, but otherwise their only shots on goal seemed to go in. Semmy 5 - caught out of position time and again. Had good first half, linked up with Crofty a couple of times, but final ball was a big let down. Shackell - 6 made 2 outstanding goal saving tackles second half, but was at fault for one of their goals. Doc - 5 Didnt play as well as Tues night Henry 2 Useless. Didnt want the ball, didnt run, didnt show for it, and the few times he got the ball, he lost it. Fozzy 5 Ran a lot, wanted the ball, but got a stupid booking, and tried to play offside for the Campbell goal which didnt work. Rusty 4 Ran a lot, then got sent off. Didnt see it at first, but just seen it on TV. Horrendous challenge. Croft 6.5 Only person to come away with credit. Did well in 1st half, but then switched wings to accommodate Henry, which was strange as Henry was gash. Second half he was lost. Evans -5 Couple of good moments with the ball close to him, but was kept quiet all day. Dion 5 Competed well, but effort only goes so far. Hopefully this is a one off, but coming on the back of the Hull game, I am a little concerned that the wheels of our recent good performances are wobbling!
3.
I don''t think it matters how many goals Earnshaw scores. Look how many goals we conceded last season. Neither he nor Hucks does defence. Big problem. Hucks is undroppable. Bigger problem. They cannot co-exist in a promotion winning side in this day and age. Sad maybe, but true.
Eh??? You what?? The strikers/forwards are there to create and score the goals, the defenders are there to stop them.... you dont have a go at Shacks or Drury for not getting 20 goals as season do you??
4. (The REAL Billy jones) Someone we should have signed. This kid is going to be a star. I know we are getting Otsemobor, but Jones would have been ggod competition for the midfield.
5. Anything less than £6m in todays market would be a bit of a letdown. We should be doubling our money. Last season only proved that he scores goals wherever, despite spending half the season injured.
6. I think he would have been great on a free, but having to pay cash for him for a 31 yr old ... mmmm. Had a great season last time round, but was it a one off?? As much as I would love to see the green hair again, I dont think its in the best interests of the club long term.
7.
Laughable - Gallacher or Carroll?    Carroll every time,  how can anyone turn their nose up at him?  He is good enough for any promotion chasing side in the champs;    Name me a prem keeper who has not made several high profile blunders. Talk about wet sham fans being arrogant! He may not be the best fit for us but he is a viable alternative.
If you are happy with mediocrity and liability as your last line of defence, then great. But Masrhall, Warner, Lewis, CAmp, are more than viable alternatives. Every keeper hasd made bluinders - who hasnt. But it gets to the stage when you are looking at signing a keeper who can have a whole video dedicated to them, then its time to stop and think. I dont think this is arrogant. I only want the highest calibre of players at my club........
8. I would rather have Lewis Carroll. This keeper is useless. More mistakes than a dyslexic''s spelling test.
9. It was ill advised, but honest, and you have to respect him for that. Lets face it, we arent the biggest club out there, and he is ambitious. Lets hope he makes it come true with Billy Sharp alongside him and we are challenging next year.
10. I think some of Dions''s most positive contribution will be off the pitch. His influence, dedication, enthusiasm and professionalism rubs off on the younger players. Nothing but great news, and Shacks will continue to improve next to him, which will be brilliant news for the long term
11.
You can add Dean Windass to the list.  Nearly 40 I believe but still knows where the net is. Steve Howard is the new Dean Windass imo, except that O''Neill walked and Worthy didn''t.
Dont you have to have played for Norwich to be considered an old boy?
12. Selling a guaranteed 20 goal a season striker (and one that missed 3 months of the season at that) is football suicide. When we have sold people in the past, Bellars, Sutton, Robins, Ashton - they are bloody hard to replace. If we are serious about moving the club forward, then selling our best asset is not the right way about it. I can see people''s reasoning behind it - get some money to strengthen other areas of the team, but I dont think we would be able to get the personnel we need in to not only replace Earnie, but with the left over money. It would be like having a Ferrari engine in an Escort Cosworth, but then selling the engine so we can get nice windscreen wipers and hub caps. In regards to him not scoring with headers - its stating the obvious. I reckon we should be looking at other target men / strikers who can hold the ball up. Izzy McLeod from MK Dons would be good. Someone like Billy Sharp, but he is destined for the Prem. Maybe Luke Varney, Nicky Maynard?
13. Whatever..... see careers of Mulryne P., Nielson D., Libbra M., Crowe D., Hayes P., etc etc etc... Dont think we will be kicking ourselves over this, but on a personal note I wish him best of luck at Burnely.
14. Good luck to Burnley - they will get a player who will play well for the 1st month, promise loads, and then disappear
15. Im at work today...I''ve just read that Dckson own goal thing too. 30 yardS? Is this right? Cannot get access to any commentary here.
16. Cheer up mate! It wasnt that bad. With some tweaking, we could be a lot more effective. What was worrying for me was the "pass and move" style as employed by George Burley''s teams. Its simple stuff, and something I havent really seen us do since the 2003/4 season. It gave us a bit of a lesson going forward, whereas we seemed to get lucky. We rely on Hucks a hell of a lot, and Dickson getting forward, and Earnie to get a sniff in the box. With a little more guile on the training ground - passing  and movement - we should be a decent team next year. I think (actually more hope) that Grant is playing people out of position to aid their development, and make them better all round players. If you slate him for playing them out of position, then praise must be due for changing it round after 20 minutes, no? ~But if he sincerely believes that Martin is a right midfielder, then I am little worried. We do have some quality players here - Earnie, Hucks, Martin, Etuhu (when he wants to play), Safri, Dublin, Shackell. We need a good keeper, another good midfielder, and we arent far away from doing something. This summer will be crucial for seeing which way the club develops.
17. Basicaly we should keep Rossi and get rid of Ryan.
18. More to the point, what about improving our team with the players who wont be wont to be playing there next season. What about Healy? Maybe he would be a success this time around. I didnt rate him here last time, but its obvious that he can score goals at this level. Frazer Richardson, good midfielder, and Kevin Nicholls. Agree that the Leeds fans deserve what they get, but its still a shame to see a big club to dwindle like they have.
19. Actually I forgot Warner made one hell of a save yesterday one handed going to his right. Maybe 7. Heh heh!
20. He hasnt had one FULL season yet. I think the best judge is pre season, what signings he has made, what tactical changes, and see how we go from there. There is a cart load of horse poo at this club that he has to get rid of (Thorne, MLJ, McVeigh, Henderson, Gallacher, maybe Croft or else why would he have got Chadwick). When we get those off the wage bill, and bring new players in, hopefully we will have a better idea. I still have massive doubts over Chris Brown though, Lappin + Fozzy havent exactly sparkled throughout, and Warners not that good, so the jury is out for me in terms of GRants judgement of players. Would love to see some proper quality brought in here , but it depends on how much is going to be released for this. One thing is for sure, there will definitely be some changes over the summer.
21. Warner 6 - handled some shots well, but I have seen 5 yr old who can kick it better than him. Distribution was useless Hughes 5.5 two steps forward, then two steps back. Unfortunately that the goal came from the right, and he got caught out a couple of times again. No surprise there, but didnt really get forward that much. Effort as per usual Dublin - 8 Superbly marshalled the defence. Couple of dummies and backheels  showed that the first two yards were in his head. Still won most in the air also. Shacks - 7 Quieter version of Dublin, came forward more, but one terrible back pass almost put us in trouble. Drury 6 Coped well - closed his man down for the first time in god knows when. ALso offered going forward. Martin - 5 Right midfield isnt his place. Couldnt be bothered for most of first half until he was switched with Hucks. Looked better, some good little through balls, but then got a knock. Fotheringham 6 Put in some good tackles, covered a lot of ground. I am not sure why CJF gave him low marks. I thought he played alright considering. Switched to left mid after Lappin went off. Service from set pieces wasnt bad either. Ethuhu 6 Hit and miss. Had his work cut out, as we were chasing a lot of the game. Put his foot in, got forward. If he can take this form into next year, he will be a force. God, I cant believe I just wrote that after some of his earlier performances this season.....! Lappin 4 Never got a touch, didnt want the ball. Hardly got it as a result. Huckerby 7 Couple of good runs, skinned Bale on a couple of occasions, as was our most dangerous player all day. Earnie 5 Not his fault - there were times when he was dropping deep into midfield to retrieve the ball. No service, and didnt look 100% sharp. Pumping high balls up to him wont really help his cause also. Subs - Spillane 7.5 Loads of promise. Got stuck in, made some intelligent passes, big tackles, and covered a lot of ground. Cant wait to see his development next season. Renton 6 Willing and enthusiastic. In all - typical end of season performance. Wasnt anything to play for, Saints have the playoffs to get to. We''re not going up or down. Frustrating as we controlled lots of the second half without really creating too much. Draw would have been a fair result.
22. Good a job as Adam has done, I think it is time we got someone else in. He never closes his man down, and consequently the right winger always manages to get a cross in. How poor have we been at defending set pieces recently? The one thing I would say in Drury''s favour is that with Hucks not too defensively minded, it can be a little overwhelming for him. Dont think Lappin is the answer - I would prefer someone better in that role. Cant think of any targets at the minute, but I am sure some posters would be able to recommend.
23. Am I the only one praying and hoping to God that Worthy gets the job full time, and actually pays money to take back some of the dross + rubbish he bought here. Oh - and Jason Jarrett is there.. bet he cant wait to team back up with a guy who rated Andy Hughes over him. Good luck to Leicester. They need it.
