  1. At midday there was apparently just a limited amount of Norwich club wembley seats left and there was none available for boro! Club wembley at the bobby Moore suite was sold out and they have allocated another area in the stadium (around blocks 204 & 205) to accommodate the demand. You can speak / book tickets with wembley direct!
  2. Nelson was brlliant tonight, keeping Lambert (leading scorer in the league) very very quiet. He still wasn''t very cultured but I would rather that than a defender messing around with it at the back creating panic. IMO he was MOM and you cannot blame him for the loss of this tie. I am not a huge fan of his but what has been said is a tad harsh - especially when you werent there. He is no world beater but he did a job tonight and lets see what happens in the next game.
  3. Thought it was harsh we lost the game as we controlled the 2nd half and limited them to nothing until the final seconds of added time where we switched off when we should of cleared the ball. Having said that I thought the defense was imense, with doc and in particular nelson standing out - limiting two quality attacking players, Lambert and Lalana to looking very very ordinary and not threatening at all. Martin played well but got less effective as the game went on, Hoolahan started the game badly (his usual crimes) and got better and better and then got substituted which puzzled me as the game was stretched at this point with Southampton chasing the game and he was looking dangerous with deft passes and silky runs. Holt lacked the edge but still ran his socks off as he always does. Russell must also be credited for a sound display working tirelessly, breaking up play, starting moves and generally pulling the strings. Apart from the first 20 minutes I would say we were the best team in quite a dull encounter (not like the league game) but it is a little worrying that we control a game so well, the defence are sound and solid and we still concede two goals and end up losing the tie - it must come down to concentration - I do think we switched off and was preoccupied with what happened to Holt prevoiusly at the other end and thinking the game was already closed out. Credit must go to the fans (about 700 I would guess), you did Norwich proud singing your hearts out. Unfortunately I couldnt be with the yellow army this time as a friend of a friend of a friend (Adam Lalana) (name dropping i know) got me free tickets next to the dugout - couldnt turn them down! So I had to control myself somewhat throughout the game. So going back to the game I would say Nelson was MOM (7.5) with a very sound performance making just two mistakes all game - the penalty (which you cannot blame him for at all) and a booking for a late challenge which was stopping a very dangerous situation (which you cannot blame him for). I was not a great Nelson fan and was a little nervous when I saw him on the team sheet tonight next to doc but he definitely proved me wrong tonight. Goodnight from Bournemouth! OTBC
  4. Thought it was generally a good performance in tricky conditions. The result could have gone either way in a game with two dodgy looking defences at times. They had chances in the first and were the better team and at times they were playing like they were the away team, counter attacking, in the second I thought we were the best team by far. Its a pity both their goals were due to us standing off and not closing the player and ball quick enough! Despite this their second was a great goal. FORSTER 7 Solid, great save in the second half. Seem to always make me nervous though when he''s kicking the ball. OSTOM 6 OK but frustarating at times, felt he should get into 5th gear a few times and use his pace against their full back. Sideways passing. DOC 6 Got better as the game went on. in the run up to the first goal could of  attempted a 50/50 to win the ball but dropped off and they subsequently scored. ASSOU 6 Solid and no nonsense at times (which is not a bad thing). Too one footed but dealt with everything OK DRURY 7 MOM Sound at the back and looked good going forward, linking play very well. Excellent crossing, picked out Holt with a glorious cross which we nearly scored from. Tireless. RUSSELL 6 Good performance, solid. Broke things up and kept things ticking. SMITH 6 At times lacked a bit of pace and out muscled, but worked hard. HOOLAHOOP 7 Played well, looked our most dangerous player at times. Creative and linked things together well. Sometimes wants to do a little too much. Influential. LAPPIN 6 Good left foot but crossing not upto speed today. Again thought he was lacking pace at times which causes problems or makes attacks break down too often. HOLT 6 Not his greatest game but worked his socks off. Could of done better with a couple of chances and was really unlucky with a glancing shot that flew just wide. Felt he got a bit aggro a few times which works against him later. One time thought he was going to headbutt the linesman as he was eyeballing him so close after a bad call - got a good telling off by the ref and immediately after calls didnt go his way when on another day they would of. Captain fantastic. MARTIN 7 Great feet! Won one pen should of got another. Clever - both times just drew the man in, he pokes the ball away as they lunge. Just missed out on MOM in my opinion. Good performance. SUBS Didnt do much in the time they had apart from hughsie great follow up on a Martin (i think) shot.   Thought Southampton were a lot better than against Brighton the other day. All in all an ok result. They would be close to us in the league if it wasnt for the points deduction. Thought their attacking trio of Lambert, Connolly and Lalana looked good - can see why some of the big boys like Lalana. Off to dry off and have my dinner, goodnight!
