  1. The person in charge of digital media, culture and sport used the terms "downstreaming movies" and "tennis pitches". Putting her in charge of something is another reason Johnson should go. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2022/04/22/nadine-dorries-mocked-downstreaming-movies-tennis-pitches-comments/
  2. You obviously don't read Jim making stuff up. What do you think about the content of the post from WOTB?
  3. From WOTB. A very good summation of the situation and until you get this you'll just spend hours ranting. He's doing a job which he said he'd leave this summer but was asked to stay by people he deeply respects. He probably added some caveats to him staying such as him going up some mountains and giving Neil the day to day running of the club.I just don't get all the hate for him. He's not the messiah by nay means and he's has definitely made mistakes, just like at every single other football club in the country.100% there would have been a different reaction to this article if it had been released this time last year.
  4. I'm sure you might be able find some pictures of Stuart Webber with a big shiny trophy for winning the Championship.
  5. "But it's very difficult coming into this environment in January and hitting the ground running after not playing a lot of football. And that is probably Todd. I thought he came in and done very well. "He needs to be consistent in his habits, consistent in his behaviours. I know he wants to play every week, but I've also got another 24,25 players who are very good and deserve to play as well. "I don't have a squad of 25 but there are only 16 I'm looking at. I have a squad of 25 and I could play any one of them, to be quite honest with you. "The competition is very high and he needs to embrace that and keep working as hard as he can to get his chance." The full quote shows that he is just desperate to play as much as he can, nothing wrong with that. https://www.dorset.live/sport/football/football-news/signing-mid-season-consistent-habits-6982323
  6. He can't control his own MP's, one of them said "each time Tories are asked to defend the indefensible, "part of us withers". The rule about calling him a liar was suspended for this debate, it should be gone permanently.
  7. And here's some more. https://www.ft.com/content/60cedff7-79a8-4595-8ba0-84de2457db1b Growing number of businesses are deploying to the Netherlands to do business with Europe
  8. I wonder what the Minister for Brexit Opportunities thinks about the poor people of Newark? You can't blame Goodlife Foods they're just following DOT advice and bypassing Brexit issues by setting up in the EU. https://www.cityam.com/110-jobs-lost-brexit-supporting-newark-in-shock-as-largest-employer-shuts-up-shop-and-heads-for-mainland-europe/ Local media and residents in the English town of Newark, as well as its local MP Robert Jenrick, are said to be shocked and disappointed by the decision of food producer Goodlife Foods to shut up shop and move its entire production to mainland Europe. The decision is likely to result in around 110 job losses, according to local media. Goodlife Foods, which supplies products to supermarket giants like Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Ocado, is the town’s largest employer.
  9. You watch Eastenders for the meaningful dialogue?
  10. It's judged a bit like the UEFA co-efficient. The better teams do in thier own leagues and in Europe means that they have greater status. A top team in France would mean more points than a top team in Cyprus.
  11. I can see you strutting you stuff on the catwalk at the Vivienne Westwood show.
  12. Amongst other criteria players have to have played in a top league for a number of years, international call ups also count towards thier points. Since 1st Jan 2021 players have to have been granted a Governing Body Endorsement.
  13. The OP was talking about buying players in order of priority. I was pointing out that it rarely works like that. Your example is about selling a player.
  14. Yes, but as Man City showed last season (when their priority was a striker) you can't always get what you consider your priority. My point was more about people understanding that the transfer window isn't as easy as insert name of a football computer game here so complaining when we buy some other position doesn't mean they're not trying to get what they consider the priority is. I think the point the OP was trying to make was that we are linked with a player for £5m who isn't a CDM when our priority is a CDM. The suggestion being that we should by a CDM first.
  15. It's our main priority but not necessarily our first signing. 😀
  16. There's a 24 yr old at Bournemouth who has done a job in the Championship and in Holland, very creative, wouldn't cost much.
  17. Priority has no bearing on the order players are signed during a transfer window. Try not to have a tantrum if we buy a player for another position first.
  18. Quite a couple of quotes from different sources. At the start of last week the Conservative party included a child molester, a serial adulterer and compulsive liar, a morally bankrupt financial whiz-kid and a bully who sends immigrants to Rwanda. And this from crossbench peer. He then read out the diary entry on the radio. It said: “Tuesday 12 April 2022 will be forever remembered as a dark bleak day for British public and political life. “It is the day Boris Johnson became the great debaser in modern times of decency in public and political life and of our constitutional conventions - our very system of government. “The moment was captured on film for ever. Just after 6pm Johnson in a panelled room at Chequers, clutching a prepared statement which he reads to the cameras for Vicky Young of the BBC.” Lord Hennessy wrote in his diary that after the PM claimed to be speaking in a “spirit of openness and humility”, “if there were **** on the Chequers estate, they would have crowed at their very loudest at this point as the Prime Minister sealed his place in British history as the first law-breaker to occupy the premiership - an office he has sullied like no other, turning it into an adventure playground for one man’s narcissistic vanity. “Boris Johnson has broken the law, misled Parliament, and has in effect shredded the Ministerial Code which is a crucial part of the spinal cord of the constitution. “And the great weakness of the system is that the Prime Minister, the wrong-un in chief, is the guardian of the code and with it the supposed protector of accountability and decency. “The Queen’s First Minister is now beyond doubt a rogue Prime Minister, unworthy of her, her Parliament, her people and her Kingdom. “I cannot remember a day when I’ve been more fearful for the wellbeing of the constitution.”
  19. Andrew Bridgen goes all out to beat Johnson to the 'Tory of the Year' award. https://twitter.com/search?q="Andrew Bridgen"&src=trend_click&vertical=trends
  20. That's an impressive 83% improvement on your outlook on life. You should try this book, you could get to 100%. https://www.amazon.co.uk/You-Matter-The-Human-Solution/dp/B09NYB8FMF/ref=sr_1_1?crid=I3X5PVWXSQHP&keywords=delia+smith+you+matter&qid=1650185025&sprefix=delia+smith%2Caps%2C320&sr=8-1
  21. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sporting_director The presence of a director of football acts as an intermediary between the manager and the board and may relieve pressure on a manager by handling aspects away from day-to-day coaching, allowing a manager to focus on on-pitch performance. The director may also help to stabilise the club – many examples exist of director stepping in as a caretaker manager on the departure of the manager. The director – often an experienced football figure – may also positively advise a less experienced manager or the board of a less well developed club.
