1. In general terms, managers often have their own scouting network who go with them from club to club whereas scouts for an academy system tend to work for a club regardless of manager.AN won''t have had much of a scouting network whilst at Hamilton Accies and his initial task at Norwich was to achieve promotion with much of the squad that he inherited.Without a comprehensive scouting network it is common-sense to target British-based players as you can quickly find out a lot about them. Once those avenues become exhausted you then look to loan players from foreign clubs before eventually taking a gamble on signing foreign players that you might not have known much about and so take longer to perform due diligence.A lot of clubs have very limited scouting networks and are heavily reliant upon agents recommending players to them.
 2. His style of play reminds me of Jason Roberts.
 3. I have said in the past how every Premier League manager is going to target getting ball in from the Norwich left then attack the space around Martin.1st Palace goal - Brady wasn''t in the left-back position. Bassong had to cover but failed to stop the cross. Martin covered an area of the goal where no opposition players were going to be threatening. Whits was left on his own with 3 Palace players to defend against. Ruddy shouldn''t concede goals at his near post.2nd Palace goal - A Palace player was allowed to make a run completely unchallenged. Martin should have been more aware of where the opposition was and won the ball but was too slow and went to ground. Whits should have been helping. Ruddy shouldn''t concede goals at his near post.3rd Palace goal - There were 5 Norwich players wide on the Norwich left (like school football). Palace simply played the ball inside. Martin should have either been quickly in position to make a challenge or stayed to cover. He did neither and instead ran out too late and jumped with his back turned leaving a simple pass for a goal.
 4. Brighton Yellow,A) The Growth Triangle is part of the area plan agreed by the Joint Core Strategy. The Joint Core Strategy is the local councils working together (including Norwich Council, Broadland Council, and South Norfolk Council). Within the area plan for the Growth Triangle it states how land for a new stadium (NRC) and community amenities etc. will need to be provided. The details have yet to be decided so there are great opportunities for NC to see what could be possible. There are other possible partners to consider such as the company who have been looking to build a new arena in that area, new civic centre, new hotel (not one in the corner of a stadium...), a new leisure building:http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/video_4_500_seat_arena_mooted_for_outskirts_of_norwich_1_3789400B) The Norwich Area Transportation Strategy Implementation Plan is also an agreement between the Joint Core Strategy (Norwich Council, Broadland Council, and South Norfolk Council). The new Postwick Hub is being built and the NDR has now been given the go-ahead. Public transport to the growth triangle is to be improved with a rapid bus system and many more direct bus links to other parts of the city and county. There are also sites reserved for new railway stations to help meet future demand. There are major transport changes planed for Norwich city centre to be implemented after the NDR has opened (construction of the NDR is due to start this year). These include closing some city centre roads to cars, closing some car parks etc. If NC are to stay at CR for the long-term then they should secure a lot of parking for fans.
 5.
A slightly larger Stade Oceane (Le Havre), this 25,000 stadium only cost about £56M in 2012.......
That is a great suggestion:http://extranet.tourismeweb.com/_uploads/4F5539393A3536664C4B/PCUNOR0760006407-2.jpg
 6.
I would say the Arsenal ground maybe on a slightly smaller scale (and not the same prices for tickets !)
That is a great example but it seems some people would rather a stadium with a hotel in the corner and some roof pillars restricting some views of the pitch.
 7. Have a look at the pitch facing design of the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux. There is a flat terrace area that can be used for functions. Have a look at this video to see what is possible. I am sure Delia would love it:https://youtu.be/X9YIaVJBHhc?t=28s
 8.

Other than CR which stadium designs do you like that are between 30k and 45k in capacity?
The capacity at CR isn''t between 30k & 45k?
Not yet...
 9. Other than CR which stadium designs do you like that are between 30k and 45k in capacity?
 10. I think Norwich City should stay at CR in the short-term and delay spending a fortune on a new stand. Now that the NDR has been given the go-ahead, and considering all of the changes that are planned to happen to Norwich once it is opened, NC should now start holding talks to see what is possible in the growth triangle.NC should hold talks now before the best locations are taken and before the council have had a chance to decide upon the community amenities that it will be providing. If NC leave it too long before getting involved then many of the great opportunities will be gone.If NC start talks now then land could put aside in the BGT for the club to consider in the longer-term.It needs NC to get together with the councils, UEA, rugby club, Aviva etc. and say "What can we do together to give Norwich something really fantastic for the next 100 years".
 11.
Tom hasn''t addressed what would happen to Carrow Park and the CSF land.. they are a charity don''t forget
They could retain the site or move to a new stadium site with a lot better facilities, or do both.
 12. ricardo,Regarding that route between the Castle Mall and Broadland it is to become a core bus route with a rapid bus service.Part of the plan involves most of Prince of Wales Road becoming bus-only in both directions and bus priority measures along the route. Once the NDR is opened the council want to restrict cars going into the city centre so more people will use the Park & ride at Postwick. There will also be fewer cars along that route because the NDR will mean that not so many people will have to come into the city along Yarmouth Road (to use the inner ring-road junction by Sainsbury''s).A lot of fans currently park cars along Yarmouth Road going into Thorpe St Andrew. The council will put a stop to a lot of that roadside parking because a far greater priority is going to be given to buses along that road. A lot of those fans will have to use the park and ride at Broadland (but it is closed on Sundays and evenings...).The plans mean that it is going to become a lot more difficult for people to find parking spaces near to CR stadium BUT the bus services between the Castle Mall and Broadland are going to improve.Consider too that there are going to be other new public transport routes to get to the BGT from many parts of Norwich.
 13.
A few years ago the club compiled a survey of how supporters got to the ground. It was found that most either walk or or use a combination of public transport and walking.
Public transport would still be available if NC moved to a new stadium, so how many people in the survey actually walked all of the way from home to CR and back?
 14. LDC,The reason why Norwich City is so important to the city is not because it plays at CR. It is because it is the only professional football club in the whole of Norfolk. Norfolk doesn''t even have a top class rugby or cricket club. The sporting focus would remain on NC regardless of whether or not it plays at CR or a few miles down the road.Regarding the history of CR it is a part of NC history which includes The Nest etc. CR stadium itself isn''t very convenient for many people on non-matchdays so NC have outlets in the city centre. The outlets are not just there for retail purposes. They are to give NC a better presence right in the heart of the city centre. They could continue to do so even if the club moved to a new stadium.
 15. LDC,Once the NDR has been built, the plans are to go-ahead with a big increase in the population, city centre parking closures, city centre road closures to cars, increases in parking charges etc. The long-term future is that CR will become a lot more inconvenient for a huge number of fans. In addition should the CR capacity be increased by 8,000 (and be expected to fill it) then it would add to congestion and parking problems.A lot of people will then start having to use the park and ride schemes (which involves additional journeys to get to CR). A major problem with that is they are shut for Sunday and evening matches. There are major problems ahead for NC if they stay at CR.However, if NC want a lot of stadium parking, next a lot of the new houses and big businesses employing lots of people, close to the NDR, and with good public transport links... that could be possible in the growth triangle.
 16.
the plans to make Prince of Wales Road bus only, I''d love to know where this is documented - other than in your head.
In the Norwich Area Transportation Strategy Implementation Plan it says:"Buses only in both directions along Prince of Wales Road" and "Rose Lane two way for general traffic". It states how these (and other measures) to re-route traffic away from the city centre are to be implemented after the NDR has opened.
 17.

lake district canary,The local council are planning to "significantly restrict" general traffic in the city centre once the NDR has been opened. This is to include closing some of the car parks and increasing the number of bus-only routes etc.
I''m sure the people at the council who are responsible for constructing the new 600 space car park on the corner of Rose Lane and Mountergate will be disappointed once they learn this news Tom.I''d hate to see all their hard work, as well as £7million go down the drain once they "significantly restrict" general traffic.
Planning permission for that car park was given in January but the NDR has only recently been given the go-ahead. A lot of the changes are dependant upon the NDR being opened. The council would like to build homes on the current Rose Lane car park. There are already plans for hundreds of new homes on the other side of the road (St Anne''s Wharf). The council will be looking to make most of Prince of Wales Road bus-only in both directions etc.. (which means quicker bus journeys to/from Broadland). The council want a lot more people to use public transport (by discouraging the use of cars). Part of the reason is due to air quality and that the city centre roads wouldn''t be able to cope with the planned growth in the population of greater Norwich. That is why I was against the NDR.
 18.
If he joined WBA then he could probably commute from where his family are settled in the north-west.
Just to add that Lambert has taken a wage cut to join WBA.
 19.
Stuck in a mind set sounds like you, Lake. You refuse to acknowledge there could be any positives to a new stadium or any negatives to staying. When this started, it was presented as a suggestion, something being considered. Then the attacks came so they were rebuffed. I''m not 100% sure, but I don''t think Tom has said the Broadland idea will happen and he''s all for it. He seems to be giving reasons why it could happen. I don''t recall him saying it will work, only that it very well could work. He hasn''t said this is our only hope for survival, but one that deserves serious consideration. Has he even said he himself wants it to happen? The attacks on him suggest he has, but I don''t think he has. Maybe i missed it.
You are right!I was against the NDR as it is going to lead to many thousands of new homes leading to worse traffic congestion in the city centre, and the council will then deter cars from going into the city centre. My concerns for NC staying at CR in the long-term are :A) NC doesn''t have much land remaining to develop so the potential of the club is becoming limited. That would put the club at a disadvantage under the financial fair play rules and make the club less attractive to future investors.B) The cost of increasing the capacity.C) Congestion and parking problems putting people off from going to matches and hiring the facilities.D) There isn''t much at the stadium for the local community on non-match days. However, now that the NDR (& Growth Triangle) have been given the go-ahead (less than a couple of months ago) there are numerous opportunities that could be of great benefit to NC.NC now have the opportunity to start with a blank piece of paper to come up with something really fantastic for their long-term future. It could be as simple as ''X capacity stadium that could easily be expanded in the future, lots of parking, good transport links, some pitches etc. for the community department to use'' etc.NC would be foolish to rule it out without even discussing all of the possibilities in detail with the council, UEA (and other education), Aviva, other sports clubs etc.
 20. lake district canary,The local council are planning to "significantly restrict" general traffic in the city centre once the NDR has been opened. This is to include closing some of the car parks and increasing the number of bus-only routes etc.
 21.

NC have sold the car park at CR that is behind the Jarrold Stand so probably own less than 50 parking spaces at CR.
What a ridiculous incorrect statement which just highlights your lack of knowledge. There must be about 200 spaces at the very least.
Norwich City don''t actually own the main car park at the back of the Jarrold Stand. It has been sold to a housing association.
 22.
Have you seen the size of the rugby club? Tiny in comparison.
It wouldn''t be at the current rugby club site.
 23.
...have a gravel car park for about 50 cars at best are going to be provided
NC have sold the car park at CR that is behind the Jarrold Stand so probably own less than 50 parking spaces at CR.The site for the new rugby club stadium hasn''t yet been specified. If NC were involved from an early stage then there would be far greater opportunities for a huge amount of parking at a new stadium.
 24.
The site you are talking about would be smaller if it didn''t include NCFC and therefore both the builders and the council would not look to include NCFC where possible.
Have a look at the depth of the Barclay Stand. You will notice the distance from the edge of the pitch to the back of the stand isn''t actually very big:http://www.rgcarter-construction.co.uk/wp-content/gallery/leisure-stadia-arenas-norwich-fc/the-barclay-stand.jpgConsider too that the council/developers will be having to allocate land for local restaurants, bars, retail etc. for local people to use. The stadium could have some of those so saving the council/developers some land.
 25.
A rugby club that could only use facilities when not being used by NCFC. A pitch that would get churned up for a relatively small rugby club comparatively.
Swansea City have been playing good passing football and yet share a pitch with Ospreys Rugby Club.
