  1. As hiss move to Birmingham seems to have fallen through, let''s use the Murphy windfall to bring back the Dutchman.
  2. You should check out the u tube clip of the 59 cup run. The song ''The Ballard of Crosan and Bly'' is the bet Norwich song ever. It''s old as you tell by the reference to £1000 a week wages. I was born the year after the 59 cup run. My father in law who is 80 today went to several games and it sounds amazing. Thousands travelling on public transport in the middle of the week. I think the song does it justice.
  3. Super Hooper''s goals are gonna blind you, Like they always do. Sometimes he''ll score two. And super Hooper hates the blues To the tune of abba, if you needed for one minute telling.
  4. Check out QPR not 606 for this video spoof. If a QPR fan added it to there site then well played, you have a superb sense of humour.
  5. As a City fan of 40+ years I am delighted that the shirt launch has a bit of hype about it. The whole RVW ''be afraid'' picture is brilliant. Our club have done a great job of taking a new product and a new asset and marketing them effectively. Oh and I think the new shirt is quality.
  6. Perth Glory, Australian A League. Small crowds standing on the terraces among dozens of UK exiles in West Ham And Dirty Leeds Shirts. Old school chanting including vitriolic verbal attacks on the keeper. They play in Purple shirts and I have no conflict of interest that you get supporting another English team as your second side. Down side, home games are a 20,000 mile round trip.
  7. Check out Clubline Footballand search for green and yellow shirts. I rate the Errea Neath. A bit like watching Brazil.
  8. Interesting comeback, but given the Government are committed to increasing health spending and Labour have said they would cut it, it is a strange choice. Having straight that I wouldn''t have Osbourne as a canary. I disagree with Ed''s politics but his football philosophy is spot on. How many other MP''s have dissed their rivals in a Parliamentary Debate.
  9. Just checked him out on U Tube and he''s GH''s Finnish twin. He clearly winds people up, judging by the 2 handed pushes in the chest from defenders. And the goal where he takes out the defender off the ball to get a clean run on the cross is quality. My favourite was the shot from 35 yards that was so powerful it went through the keeper like a cannonball. Difficult to tell from a couple of mins of clips, but if it''s a accurate reflection of what he can do I''d have him ahead of Hooper.
  10. Anything that is critical or extracts the Michael from second rate teams from inferior county''s. I did think ''we don''t play you anymore'' until the proposal of a meaningless friendly. The snake pits flags include ''the best supported team in East Anglia'' and ''East Anglia''s Premier League Team''. How about ''We Are Norwich Cutting the Mustard''
  11. I can''t believe I''m not the only City fan that had a twinge of anxiety over the possibility of a points deduction over the signing of Paul Lambert. I also know that we would have handled it with a lot more distinction that QPR. Funny thing class, you''ve either got it or you haven''t. If you haven''t, no amount of money can buy it.
  12. Remember the guy that let in 7 on his NCFC league debut? He has just saved 2 penalties in a penalty shoot out after the Hyundai A league Grand final finished 2-2, in front of a crowd of over 50,000. His team Brisbane Roar have an unbeaten run of 28 games, the best in world football. The team with the second best unbeaten run is Barcelona
  13. Given that they stopped playing in Green and Yellow 108 years ago and we adopted the same in 1907, is anybody else ticked off that man u are now wearing more of our colours than their own.  I appreciate their desire to protest against the owners, but imagine we had to do that, Blue and White, its unthinkable.
  14. A great deal of credit should go to the person at the club who ordered that the standing rule not be inforced.  At one stage in the second half I sat down in the Snake Pit and was told by the Steward that I didn''t have to today.  Inspired.
  15. Suprised you even heard the booing there are so few of them there.  They are supposed to be bringing 2200 on saturday, maybe they don''t like to go to 2 games in a week.  I''ve just checked how many season tickets they sold this year.  11,298, almost half as many as we did.  Its true what they say.  It''s grim up north.
  16. Ever noticed how this system creates edits all of its own.  My relative was Lord Mayor of Luton.  I''ve tried to find the photo of him I had without success.  He looks a lot like Ghengis Khan.
  17. Norfolk Lutonian suggests you hail from bedfordshire originally, as id my father. Great grandad was Lord of Luton I believe.  Scary Lokking begger as well.  Oh I almost forgot the George and Dragon, now a Mcdonalds.
  18. Last home game i popped alone to my favourite pre match pub for a pint only to find the Cricketers Rest had closed.  This was a proper Norwich fans pub and I hope someone reopens it soon.  It got me thinking about other pre match pubs I have used over the last 30 odd years and how many we have lost.  In the late 70''s early 80''s i knocked off work at 12:00 on a saturday and popped along to the Coach & Horses opposite Debenhams Now a Pizz restaurant).  Then for while I drank in the |Cricketers Arms on City road whci was turned into some sort of office, as was the Pheasant Cock, my favourite ever city pub, especially as it looked tiny from the outside.  Anyone remember when Man U thought it would be a good idea to attack the pub, not realising how many it had in it.  I aslo used to drink in the Kingsway and occasionally the Clarence Harbour, even though it was reaklly an away fans haunt.  Finally I moved on to the Ferry Boatwhich was a great boozer until the new neighbours took exception to a bit of music being played.  My favourite day in the Ferry Boat was on a day against some team in blue.  I large group of scummers came down the opposite bank and gave it the big ''un.  Somebody managed to launch a glass to the far side with devastating effect.  Not Big and Not cleaver, but very, very funny.  What other favourite match day watering holes have we lost?
  19. I''d be interested in finding out if lambert is a fan of Mohamed Ali. We seem to Rope a dope some of our opponents.  Let them run themselves out and then kill them off.  We certainly are floating like a butterfly at present. Is Paul lambert a candidate the ''The Greatest?''
  20. favourite trip on a club cabbage coach was I think, a trip to cardiff which we lost 1-0.  There were 2 coaches and the headlights on one failed.  This resulted in the second coach driving back up the M4 what seemed like 5 yards behind the other to cover the fact it had no lights.  At the end of the M4 we were met by an engineer sent out from Norwich to fix the fault.  They chose to do this outside a local pub (I thought it was called the Denham Express, but there is no pub of that name now).  The locals were delighted to have a couple of coach loads of friendly fans turn up, (yer right) especially when we tried to access the disco taking place down stairs.  Things were tense for a while before some idiot fixed the coach and we had to continue our journey. The moral of the story seems to be, if you do have to travel with CC and you want a drink on the way home, take somebody with a working knowldgge of auto electric with you. Great win today.  Hail Paul Lambert, hero of the Revolution.
  21. I assume you are a canary passed in OZ.  Where abouts are you? I have a mate who lives in Singletonin WA and I know there is a guy that runs the NCFC Australia based supporters club in Melbourne.  I travel a lot to Australia as you will see on the canarys Abroad Page.  Always up for a beer with a fellow yellow if you are.
  22. I have tried to see what Colchester fans were thinking about this issue.  I found one listing for a U''s fan forum and there wasn''t one. (there was a city one though.) The other one I found hadn''t had a post on it since 8 December.  Hardly a hotbed of Football is it.  No wonder lambert left.
  23. As I understand it, this is the first initiative of its type at any football club, and any money raised will go to strengthening the team. It might not be everybody''s cup of tea but some of the criticism seems to be uninformed and unfair.
  24.  I just wanted to hear what people thought.  Made a change from some of the mad rants we get on here.
