  1. I can certainly see Watford going down, but do they really think Swansea and Sheffield will join them?
  2. Maybe this is what Alan Bowkett meant when he said it was getting easier for Premier League clubs to steal our young talent?
  3. Rule 20 says - you can''t induce an employee of another club to leave - unless you have that club Chairman''s permission and the conditions attached to that permission. It sounds like the "breach" is a technicality, we asked, and received permission to talk "provided compensation can be agreed" He meant - before you talk, we meant after we talk. Cue Storm in a Teacup...... no way we need to be "careful" in the future
  4. "I would be very surprised if compensation was over £400k" Good guess, and very close = $425K + $75 K fine apparently..
  5. " odd that thre hasn''t been any Leeds fans on here today though isn''t it?. maybe the penny''s dropped! " Maybe it''s Sunday.
  6. "In my analyses, the only clubs that really have a chance to succeed long-term in the Premiership in the coming years are clubs that have large facilities, large catchment areas and solid support. Given the circumstances that NCFC are in with facilities and catchment area, they probably best fit into the CCC. Over-investing in players just to get a short stint in the EPL does not make sense. Leeds will once again be a powerful long term player in the EPL due to the criteria above. Not an insult to your club but resources vs. opportunities....that''s management in its purest form. Wednesday is another club which will eventually be a long term player in the EPL along with Newcastle. Big clubs...etc." Well Joe you are describing Division 1 pre Premiership. But now, you would need to find a (EU law legal) way to get a salary cap in place, and then see SKY payments drop. Given those then yes, revenues would follow ground capacity... and "big" clubs - like Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle, Leeds shoud succeed. And if that means it takes NCFC 20 years to pay down their debt, but at the same time field a competitive team in the CCC, I''d take that... However without a salary cap everyone is sailing off the edge of the same precipice..... new investment or no investment. Alan Sugar I think said it well. Something along the the lines of "why give us more money, we''ll only piss it all away""
  7. So where did the "JOE" investment thread go. A hoax?
  8. Oh great - investment banking by bulletin board. Nothing against you Joe - I don''t know you from Adam - but this hardly seems the right forum for these discussions?
  9. What I don''t get is why it is the club''s responsibility to make sure that 25,000 citizens of Norfolk are unable to walk from the ground without the danger of motor traffic. It''s not like the issue is random and unknown. It happens once every two weeks on a Saturday afternoon and somewhat less frequently on a Tuesday evening. Time for the Norfolk Police to pull their finger out and get on with the job they have already been paid through taxes to do
  10. And also missing the team bus for an away game.... a pretty stupid thing to do that one.
  11. To allow them to benefit from parachute payments would be outrageous, and I''d hope for deal on that to be part of any CVA that they have to get before they can play on. As these payments are guaranteed future income due to the club, it''s only reasonable that the creditors benefit from the distribution of those funds. But you can just see them wiggling out out all of that on an technicality ...
  12. Its a commercial site.. so being down so often is poor customer relations. Remember, part of the rational for getting rid of the newspaper was the better service that could be provided on-line. So time for them to step up to the plate.. (Yank term that one)
  13. From that same web site, the Adidas kits of 1981 - 83 were the last ones to be worn without any on-shirt advertising.
  14. He could be brilliant. We were so lucky to have a string of quality forwards - Boyer, Reeves, Fashanu ... I also played against him once, after getting skinned multiple times knew that he was probably much more likely to be a professional footballer than I ever was :-) He also was attacked by our center mid during that game - well he almost was - all the punches missed their target, I think Justin was junior heavyweight boxing champ at the time. Look up Norwich v Liverpool for one of the best goals you will ever see. RIP Justin
  15. "The recent 10-point deduction imposed after Palace went into administration looked to have thrown them into a relegation battle. Instead, the Eagles'' form means a play-off place could still be obtainable" By the way who write this stuff for the BBC. That''s right up there with the comments about Ipswich''s 9 game unbeaten run - almost all draws - meaning they we the form team earlier this season.
  16. Looking forward to continuing this banter next season in the Championship. Just need to make sure Charlton and the rest stay behind both of us, so thanks Leeds for beating Colchester. More of the same please.
  17. Well if you have only got a 10,00 capacity ground, 5,000 regulars and Norwich are bringing 1,900 "officially" you wouldn''t need to grab more than 3,000 casual supporters to fill up the ground. Still even if 8,000 to 2,000 (it won''t be) apart from boos for Lambert, I figure our lot will outshout their lot. And all conducted in good spirit too unless some idiot(s) are out to cause trouble.
  18. Why would it be madness if the interest on the loan is $1.6m? Isn''t just like re-financing your mortgage?
  19. And I have been equally well informed by someone not even remotely interested in the club, nor having any contact with anyone who works there, that what you just said isn''t true. We''ll see. I personally doubt it.
