1. and i love this club more then the wife, ask her who comes first. I know an NCFC fan who loves Ipswich more than he loves his wife .... [;)] On a far more serious note - can I just be clear?  Is there now planned to be a protest at all 3 remaining home games, beginning on Saturday?  Is that the intention?
2.
I agree - he is a good squad player and I have no wish to see him leave during the summer.   Is the real question Andy Hughes - is he an enema?   Coz when he plays teams run right through us   I''ll get me coat...
And let''s not forget Carlos Robinson, the Welsh windbag... full of Taffy promise when chatting to the press ("we owe them one; we''ll put one over them on Saturday; time for the lads to stand up and be counted", etc etc etc) but consistently delivers so little on the day.  When I first saw Robinson at Carrer Rud, I thought he looked OK; quite comfortable on the ball; maybe even worth the £50K (just). But as the weeks have gone by, I''ve noticed how much he dances around in space most of the time, with his knuckles just inches off the turf (I kid you not; just watch on Saturday if Worthless picks him again). He reminds me of my ol'' Dad on the dance floor when Rock Around the Clock gets played - not a pretty sight; indeed, a rather pathetic one, especially as he thought he looked good... It''s the same with Robinson I fear - he''s always got a helpful comment for his team-mates ("Scr*wed up big time there, Flem", that sort of thing) but doesn''t exactly lead by example. His so-called ''passing'' last Friday was in a class on its own. I just worry that Hooosie sees Robinson as the man to copy...  [;)]
3. "Worthington signs players that work hard, are well disciplined  and that have good energy levels, passing ability is not one of his priorities i''m afraid. That is why we can''t pass the ball well as a team, that is why we rarely take a decent corner and hardly ever take a decent free kick". Throw-ins are a joke too, your Lordship. The team does waxworks impressions when Drury or Fleming stands on the line with the ball.  Frankly, the basics just never seem to get better - except hoof-ball, of course, at which they have all become proficient...[:@] I remember a comment about Bardsley (on loan to Burnley from Man Utd) from one of the TV commentators last Friday - something like: "Just look at the way he passes the ball and then moves straight into space... That''s drummed into all the players at Old Trafford in training every week..."  So simple. Yet, by contrast, when our team passes the ball, they so often seem to think that''s ''job done'' and leave it to the next man.... So, no fluidity, no build-ups, no incisive one-twos (let alone threes...) !!! Give me strength !!!
4. Safs probably felt just like Hucks did against Ipswich - confused, if not gutted, by the manager''s decision to leave him on the bench - and was then unable to shake off the blues when he was finally given a run (just as Hucks was).  The manager''s "tactics" and "man management" skills (to the extent they exist at all) defy belief, frankly...[:@]
5. The jury''s still out for me, in any event. I haven''t really been that impressed with Earnie, even when he''s had the ball - and, not surprisingly, he gets knocked off it quite easily, too.  Whereupon, he usually sits there, holding his hands in the air, hoping the ref will give him a free kick (which rarely happens - they''ve probably sussed out Earnie by now). As my old teacher used to put in my school reports: ''Much more needed if he wishes to be a success in life''.
6.
I have already voted for him!! /Lars, a Norwich fan in Sweden! (Please visit our site, even if you don´t understand much:-) Ok you can see that it is a Norwich site anyway... www.svenskafans.com/england/norwich
Hey Lars! Thanks for giving us the link to your website.  By repute, Swedes don''t have much of a sense of humour, but 1. Anyone chosing to support the Canaries right now must enjoy having a good laugh; and 2. With Svenskafans Forum members called Brendan O´Callaghan (how the hell does an Irishman read your posts?) and Delia''s G-String, there''s obviously more to Swedish humour than we realised! Welcome on board!!  [:)]
7. No, Roy - unlucky, Roy, unlucky.  If those first few shots had gone in, Roy, we''d have probably been in with a chance of a point, tonight. ... but then we lost Drury and I was forced to change the 5-4-1 formation, Roy.  Story of the season: injuries, Roy, injuries. Pathetic, Roy, pathetic? I don''t agree with you there, Roy.  I know I could have brought on Safri and kept the same shape....but Earnie, Roy, Earnie.  We''ve paid a lot of money for him, so I can''t have him sitting on the bench all night, can I Roy?   OK, so maybe Steve Cotterill did make lots of notes and give lots of instructions to his team during the game, Roy, but did you see the way I stood there and chewed gum all night with my arms folded, Roy?  That was passion, mate, raw passion... I had to keep cooling myself down with a swig of water, as you''ll have noticed, Roy. Incidentally, Roy, we''ll be taking the next game as it comes...  Still in with chance of the playoffs, Roy, as the fat lady hasn''t finished singing yet, Roy. Roy? Roy?  Hello?  Where''s he gone? That''s disrespectul and unprofessional, that is, Roy, bu**ering off and leaving me to talk to myself. That''s not in the book, Roy....
8. For a Golden Oldie like me, I''d have to say that Terry Bly has got to right up there with the best; but I also agree with others that ''Hovering'' Ron Davies was also out of this world as a header of the ball.  I''ve never seen anyone better in the air (not even the late lamented Peter Osgood) and although it was often the weight a medicine ball, especially in wet weather, it simply flew off his head.
9. Always gave 110% in my view.  His best just wasn''t always good enough, but he put in some good performances for us early on.
10. ... said Nigel Worthington today. Funny that - no mirrors in his house, then?? [;)]
11.
its fly be.... jas :)
Would that guarantee 2 wings every game ???
12. Does Horsefield enjoy playing on the right wing, do we know? Wouldn''t want to get him here under false pretences, would we?  [;)]
13. Wiz said:  I understand from the Pinkun that the Smiths refused to do a press interview, or accept questions from the press on their recent statement either.  Why?. IMO, it''s because they didn''t write the press statement themselves, although they will have signed off on it....  It''s been crystal clear for some days now that they have got a PR firm advising them on how to deal with their little local difficulty (more wasted money...) It goes like this:  1. Roll out Mr Nasty (Barmy Kipper) and try and create a distraction - just like Tony B Liar does with Fatty Prescott when things get tuff, and like Maggie MilkSnatcher did with Skinhead Norman Tebbitt...  Unfortunately, that back-fired spectacularly, so call on Plan B: 2. Postpone the NCISA meeting.  Couple that with 3. Issuing what they hope is a placating statement (but no awkward questions, please...!) 4. ''Do another Tony B Liar'' and let it be known that they now wish to "draw a line under this most unfortunate episode" and encourage everyone to get behind the Club (which we are anyway; it''s just the manager we want to see the back of...) 5. hope to goodness that the boys ''get a result'' on Saturday. (They''ll get that, all right.  Leeds looked awesome last Saturday).  It will be interesting to see what step 6 will be, following next Saturday''s stuffing, but we know it won''t be what we want, because we don''t have the Club''s long-term interests at heart, do we?  And we can only think one-dimensionally, can''t we - unlike Kipper and Co... [8o|]   Give me strength!!!   [8o|]
14. Thanks CJ - the info seems to reinforce still further that the ''faith'' in NW really is blind to the facts and realities of the situation. Perhaps Delia et al are trying to get him into the Guinness Book of Records - in the ''longest ineffective/most unsackable manager'' category.... [;)]
15.
Stability “A degree of stability has been achieved at Norwich by a lot of hidden and unheralded work - we now need your help to maintain that stability.” Quote from Delia Since Nigel Worthington became manager the following players have left the club: Abbey, Coote, Dalglish, De Waard, Derveld, Forbes, Holt, Giallanza, Jackson, Kenton, Llewellyn, Mackay, Marshall, Marshall, McGovern, Mulryne, Nedergaard, Peschisolido, Roberts, Russell, Sutch, Walsh, De Blaasis, Benjamin, Crichton, Easton, Emblen, Hayes, Libbra, Nielsen, Rivers, Roberts (another one!), Briggs, Bromby, Healy, Heckingbottom, Sinclair, Southall, Brennan, Cooper, Crouch, Edworthy, Francis, Hammond, Harper, Svennson, Ashton, Bentley, Crow, Helveg, Jonson, Stuart, Davenport, Marney and Wright. That’s in excess of 50 players in just over 5 years. Getting on for a whole XI departing every year. Since Nigel Worthington became manager the following players have joined the club: Abbey, Drury, Holt, Peschisolido, Benjamin, Crichton, Easton, Emblen, Libbra, Neilsen, Rivers, Roberts, Briggs, Bromby, Healy, Heckingbottom, Southall, Brennan, Cooper, Crouch, Francis, Hammond, Harper, Huckerby, McKenzie, Svennson, Ashton, Bentley, Charlton, Doherty, Gallacher, Helveg, Jonson, Safri, Stuart, Ward, Colin, Davenport, Earnshaw, Etuhu, Hughes, Jarrett, Johannson, Lisbie, Louis-Jean, Marney, Rehman, Robinson, Thorne and Wright. That’s around 50 in just over 5 years. Again, virtually a whole XI arriving every year. Over those 50 or so signings in 5 years over 30 have come AND gone. Take the case of Ryan Jarvis – when he first broke into the side he was regarded as one of the brightest forward prospects in England. He has not progressed at all – but then what chance did he have – since we first played him we have signed Crouch, Hammond, Huckerby, McKenzie, Svennson, Ashton, Bentley, Jonson, Earnshaw, Johannson, Lisbie and Thorne. That’s 12 forwards who have jumped ahead of Ryan in the pecking order. When do you think he will get the message? As I have asked so many, many times before “if the club believes in stability why do we continue to employ a manager who clearly does not”? Why don’t you explain that Delia and Michael? (nb: I absolutely do not guarantee that these lists of transfer dealings are exhaustive)
Nor, dare I suggest, is changing the manager after FIVE years rocking the boat and creating instability.  For the maths freaks, that''s means that NW has had more than 1,800 days [ONE THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED DAYS] in charge.... [:@]
16. Would I ever back Worthy 100%?  Nope - not now.  It''s gone past the point of no return for me.  Sorry, Worthy.  Thanks for the good times - but time to go now....
17. BUT, if the phrase ''things improving on the pitch'' simply means week after week of dire, tedious football - even if we do grind out some wins (to quote somebody well known to us...) - is that really what want?  I don''t think so.  Because, even if that approach were to achieve promotion again (a somewhat forlorn hope, as things stand) we know that, under the same ''leadership'', we would be doomed to immediate relegation again.  We''ve got to aim for better than that and, IMHO, that means a change at the top - now.  In other words, a new man with a new backroom team, new ideas, a different management style and a more effective style of play.    We see it being achieved all around us in this division and elsewhere, and with far more limited resources than NW has had at his disposal.  Why can''t we have some of it?  [8o|]  I believe the Stowmarket Two see Worthy as ''trying his best'' (and he probably is) and they respect him for that, but IMO it''s blinding them to the shocking results being achieved (21 wins in 75 league games) and the impact this is having on fan/Board relationships.
18. ... and how many of those managers had such a poor ''win to total games played'' ratio over their last 2 seasons - namely, 21 wins out of 75 games, which is 28%  i.e. not even one win in three - and that''s just in the league games... Talking of stats, I also noticed that we have only just exceeded the number of goals this year in 37 games that we scored in 38 games last year in the Premiership (45 this season, so far, compared with 42 last season).... I don''t call that ''success'' either..[8o|]
19. Great fun!  Never was a Playdoh man myself - until now!
20. Did you ever get a reply, Link? If so, I must have blinked and missed it.  [;)]
21. There''s still hope, LGT!  Hughes has agreed to have talks about his contract at the end of the season.... So, if he''s not getting involved in such things right now, nor would Bowen. The manager comes first!   [:)]
22. Your Lordship:  When you say that "Bowen is a coach, not a manager. Stop going on about him for gods sake" you must surely recognise that everyone has to start their managerial career somewhere (cf Worthless in Blackpool...).  IMO, Bowen''s the man - none better.  I''d be prepared to take the risk (which I see as minimal, compared to the huge potential upside) and have him as manager as soon as the Board can get their sticky mitts on him....  [:)]  His career to date has had ''success'' written all over it.  Why should it change now?????
23. From the NCISA website regarding yesterday''s postponed meeting with Munnybagsby and Donkeycaster:  We, at NCISA, were informed by Neil Doncaster that the date of the meeting was to be deferred in order to allow more officials from NCFC to attend. We categorically deny claims made today from ‘a Norwich City spokesman’ that the meeting was deferred to allow all of the NCISA committee members to attend. Whilst all committee members will now be in attendance for the meeting scheduled for 13th March, this was a request made by the club and was not the reason given to us for the deferred date. So now we have ''spin'' from the NCFC Board for reasons best known to themselves...  Did they really believe for a minute that NCISA would just take it ''on the chin'' (to borrow a phrase) and not clarify that it was the Club which had kicked for touch?  What a sorry state of affairs when it comes to this. What trust can we have in a Board which sees the need to ''spin'' such stuff, even about the date of a meeting and why it''s had to be changed?  Talk about a siege mentality.  It certainly puts a new slant on the phrase ''Fortress Carrer Rud''.... Public relations?  They don''t know the meaning of the word. It''ll take a long time for things to improve after this little problem (Worthless and team) goes away... [:@]
24. USAcanary said: I think there are a lot of people who want worthy out yet do not like the idea of protesting at the game. You can tell by the general atomosphere at the current games that the vast majority are NOT HAPPY with what going on. I took a straw poll around me yesterday at half time - spoke to 5 in front, 4 to my right, and 5 behind me (those to my left had all gone for beer...).  Although none had been to St Andrews or to the pre-match protest, ALL of them wanted Worthless out. Most of them booed at half time at the AWFUL performance. They''ve had enough but won''t go protesting, just yet. Some said they might do so at the next home game.  The guy behind me keeps match stats every week.  We had 3 (repeat) 3 ''shots'' on goal in the first 45 mins - the closest was about 8 yards wide of the post..... Said it all, really. All agree there''s ''something'' wrong'' in the Club and that only a change will do now.   I''m clear that the WO feeling is not just widespread - it''s spreading.
