1. I''m convinced that Robert''s Green ''inevitable'' departure this summer would have been factored into the transfer budget. The he went and did the dirty on the Club by stubbing his toe - big time... The thing that really got my goat last season was amount of money Wiorthless clearly wasted on loanees such as Rehman (remember him??) and others - which was as close to having a big bonfire of five and ten pound notes as we saw all season.  My blood still boils over the waste...
2. I see that Delia has a daily World Cup recipe column in the Guardian.  Is she more likely to be raising a few extra bob for new players or for Worthless''s payoff, do you think?  I sincerely hope it''s the latter bit am not holding my breath.  With so many managerless clubs up and down the country showing absolutely no interest at all in winkling Worthless out of Carrer Rud, and no players or coaches showing any obvious signs of wanting to work with him, it has all the hall marks of stalemate. Whatever happened to the Plymouth/Stoke/Sheffield Wednesday ''perfect storm'' that would see him whisked away to Yorkshire that was so confidently predicted on this forum a few weeks ago?  The Pulis to Stoke piece seems to be falling into place, but Sturrock has already made 3 signings for Wednesday... hardly the actions of a man expecting to leave.
3. Hey BT. The thing at the bottom of your key board is called a space-bar. Just for info - you are allowed to tap it at the end of each sentence as well as after each word. I felt I had to read your entire (very interesting) post in one breath - but went quite light-headed in doing so.... [:)]
4. We know where we''re at - and we''ll take it from there...
5.
Didn''t Worthy take us to Play-Off Final and win us a Championship, all in his first four years at the helm? Christ, people have short memories.
Yep - and ever since then, his trousers have been round his ankles... He''s proved beyond doubt in the past 2 years that he just doesn''t have what it takes at the higher levels..... Taxi to Division 1, anybody???

7. A- (minus).  He''s gone so stale, only he (and the Board) cannot smell the stink of rotting aspirations...
8. Isn''t this a case of mis-spelling?  What Worthless is pursuing (as always) is a FUTILITY player - but I thought we had enough of these already... e.g. Hooooooooooooooooooooz, Etuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, etc. Of course, the general situuuuuuuuuation at Carrer Rud is as futile as ever. Ipswich, Palace both clear out their stables, but we insist on keeping our donkey....  [8o|]

10. From the BBC website: Hull City manager Peter Taylor is emerging as a leading contender to succeed Alan Curbishley at Charlton. But Charlton don''t seem interested in winkling out Worthless from Carrer Rud - funny that... [;)]
11. Lets give Worthy some credit though, at least he doesn''t blame the ref, linesman their families and dogs for losing as some managers do.  No, your''e right; he doesn''t, Saint - he just blames  the state of the pitch, the number of injuries and the rub of the green (''if the ball had gone in, instead of hitting the post'', ''if we''d scored first, it would have been a different matter'' etc etc)......
12. "It was always going to happen at some stage, but it''s better to be clapped out of the front door than kicked out of the back door." Charlton is a club the NCFC Board admires and tries to copy, so maybe they should take another leaf out of its book.... Taxi for Worthington!!!
13.

My favourite part of that article was, "I told the players, the chairman and the board in July that I was looking for automatic promotion, and the play-offs as a minimum, so we''ve achieved the minimum of my expectations and now it''s time to finish the job,'' said Boothroyd. I wonder if Nigel said the same??
He may well have said the same, Saint C (and charmed the Board by doing so) - but Boothroyd has the competence and the tactical skill to actually deliver it.  Quite a key difference really... [:''(]
Palace 0 - Watford 3.  I rest my case, m''Lud... [;)]

15. He used to do what they called ''Football Entertainment'' with 2 blokes called Worthless and Foley, although I have heard tell that it wasn''t entertaining very often. In their day, they were apparently a great act: [*] The 3 Stooges [*] ...  People found them [<:o)] [<:o)]  hilarious  [<:o)] [<:o)] mainly because they thought they were being serious....!!!  Do you know, they actually managed to get 25,000 people laughing recently when QPR scored a goal at Carrer Rud... That took some doing, I can tell you! Sadly, Livermore was last seen mooching around Colney, wondering when his P45 is going to land on his desk...  Worthless had just given Foley the boot and left Livermore with the distinct feeling that it was only a matter of time before he went too... Foley''s OK though.  Apparently, he''s gone to join Wilson, Keppell and Betty, now that''s Betty''s left.
16.
Seems to me since yesterday''s announcement re Foley the spot light has moved away from a poor finish in the league, long ball style football and the miserable season in general. Was it the intention from Worthy and the Board to try and divert attention away from that?
Yep - and it''s back-fired spectacularly....  Gesture politics of the worst order which puts the Board in a very bad light indeed. The Board must think we zip up the back... It''s the organ grinder, not one of his monkeys, who we want out...  [8o|] I see that Worthless is now drawing up a shortlist of replacements for Foley.  He should be spending his time dusting down his own CV.... Incidentally, if he''s that good, how come no-one comes knocking on the Carrer Rud door for his services????

18. The only coach the Board seem interested in is ''Worthington''s Mystery Tours''....  (Driver: Andy Hoooooooooooooz)
19. Here''s a couple for a kick-off (taken from the Pink''Un: 5 August 2005). Worthington:  “I have got a solid squad with plenty of options for each position. [8o|]  I am really pleased with the players that have come in to join the people who are already here. They have got good experience, they know what the league is all about - and they will give us good energy levels as well which is important at this level. Overall I''m delighted with what I have got.  There are no excuses."  [8o|]
20. Hopefully, there''s someone they REALLY want as coach, but he''ll say ''Get shot of Worthless first....''  We can only hope, but don''t hold your breath..  All this token gesture stuff is just about ''placating'' the fans, but it won''t wash. The Board were obviously deck-chair attendants on the Titanic in a previous life....

22. ...  in January I put my fantasy football head on and planned for both the Premiership and the Championship - tactically, technically and financially - I''ve tried to cover all the aspects".  Adrian Boothroyd - yesterday. If only we had a manager like that.... They''re out there, Delia.  You and your mates just need to be willing to look... [8o|]
23. He''s safe all right...  Anyone on a 12 month contract and having the Stowmarket 2 as his best friends is certainly ''safe''... [:@]
