The story about 3 years ago. The Chairman and the Manager of the Town were stopped by a police officer for speeding after a match but were let of. Someone commented "they could not even take a point of a police officer"

What has been gained…….nothing!

Fair comment BUT the gap between the 1st and 2nd Tier nowadays is massively more than the days of the former managers you refer to. -
I would "guessestimate" the attendance to be between 250/300 but could be way out. A pleasant evening, understandably more relaxed than an AGM, and good to see several youngsters asking questions. It was noticeable that the questions "hardened" after the interval, I suspect due to some regular old PinkUn posters wanting to display their frustrations !! I did think Zoe came out with a typical piece of modern day jargon. Instead of saying we borrowed £20 million pending the remaining broadcasting monies being paid, she said we anticipated them. Mind you I see Man Utd's debts have risen to £725 million and someone is likely to pay £100 million plus for Declan Rice so to be fair the Board at Carrow Road they still possess a degree of sanity.

So according to Zoe we will make an appointment imminently

Surely it is in Stuart's best interests to keep ticking over in his notice period to enable him to give him plenty of time to pursue all the possible offers for his services and it is basic human nature that his wife supports his goals. So it is quite understandable that there has been no rush to find a replacement and the combination is acting in a completely legitimate manner. Having said that from the Club and supporters viewpoint it is far from satisfactory particularly as the departing SD is recruiting players for next season and may even join one of our biggest opponents. Even worse there will be more delays because the CEO now does not think she has the capabilities to find a suitable new SD. For us find us in this shambolic situation I am afraid it is the direct responsibility of the aged owners. As I have already said elsewhere we desperately need an experienced business man to take the helm. -
I came away from this meeting with the distinct impression that the Club desperately needs an experienced leader with business acumen in the style of Alan Bowkett. Zoe seems very much of the modern breed with plenty of corporate talk but seems to be building an ineffective "administrative empire" with no concrete results. A bit like our local councils !!! Rather concerning, she states that Mark is having some useful input at Board meetings yet at the same time is spending time learning from others as to how the game should be run.

First definitive ground expansion confirmation?

Not a clever observation. Til is simply realistic and spot on. To obtain any outside finance we would need to put up some 50% of the costs and then show some proof that we could afford the repayments. We are miles away from that scenario and it simply will not happen in the foreseeable future. After all it has taken the Club some 10 years to get round to refurbishing the Gents in the Regency Stand. Why on earth are we wasting money on studies and architects etc is mind gobbling. -
Purple. As we all know the problem with all football clubs is that as fast as the money comes in it all promptly goes out on team strengthening - well that's the theory !!! To be fair this often as a result of pressure from fans. Of course the burning question is how much is MA prepared to put in ????

In the 2022 Strategic Report there were five priorities: 1) Develop our football teams 2) To create financial growth 3)To develop our people 4)Improve the Club Structure 5) Inspire and support the community Bearing in mind we have failed miserably on all counts, surely there is only one question "Does the CEO think she is up to the job". Come to think of it I might even ask this !!!!

Out of the blue and all at short notice at a new venue. What’s behind it all. Maybe it’s a simple case of Radio Norfolk thinking it’s about time they showed a bit more interest in the huge local following who support the Club. Don’t think we will be short of questions and hopefully we will get some frank answers. On the other hand perhaps Stuart is just looking for a great send off !!!!!

We have seen him quite a bit this season but can't get my head around why he is so highly rated. Hugs the touchline and plays well back finding plenty of space but after several touches usually places the ball inside to a creative team mate. Does not often take on his fullback and open up the opponents defence. Obviously is acting under Pep's instructions and wonder if his role is mainly to be a readily available outlet. Somewhat overrated but is good at falling over !!!

Seeing these two very poor sides competing for a place in the Premiership makes it quite frightening to realise how much we have declined this season. Most of our sides over recent years would have thrashed either of them. Compared with us both sides neither have the money or support to compete with us. Where has it all gone wrong ????

An indication of our ambition?

It was Farke who developed our Pukki style of attack which was the quick quality ball on the ground for him to run on to. Deano and Wagner were not really in to this style of football plus they did not have the likes of Buendia to feed him. Additonally, as has been regularly mentioned, Pukki was never ever going to get on the end of high crosses coupled with the fact that we never attack in numbers hence traditional wing play rarely gets us anywhere. With the Pukki era over we are now back to can we find "another Grant Holt" with a total overhaul. Obviously this will take some time and I am far from convinced that Wagner is the answer and there is the danger that money will be spent in the summer transfer window but by the year end "another Manager bites the dust". At least the players will continue to laugh all the way to the Bank. Looking ahead it would be a great help if the Americans make up their minds sooner rather than later - or have they understandably got cold feet !!! -

Hernandez had a lot of possession yesterday and in space. Unlike many in the side he has a bit of pace. But rather sadly I cannot recall him hardly playing a decent ball in to the box. -
We should be building a side around Omobamidele but now

According to "THE BOOK" Ron Davies Debut 7/9/63 Left 7/5/66. Hugh Curran Debut 29/1/66 Left 18/1/69. Manning Debut 23/9/67 Left 7/3/69. The moral of the story - Nutty is usually right !!!! -
Sounds like Dowell will be leaving

According to several members of the Scottish Press he has already passed a medical and will join Rangers once his contract with us has formally expired. Some comments have already been made that it is a risky signing as he is injury prone. Personally I never see him as making it big time. -
It was only some great goalkeeping that kept them in the game. Apart from Maddison and an ever willing Vardy they did not offer a lot going forward. An entertaining game.
-
My goodness. We’re we that bad.

A neat tidy player but will never make it in the Premiership. Too small and just does not have the physicality and power to compete with big boys. You just had to watch Palace today. Maintained enormous pace and aggression for the whole of the match and their basic skills were pretty good. It does not help his cause in that most of his passes go backwards. He needs a move to one of the better Championship sides - if there are any !!!!
-
Another disastrous Webber signing. Never seems to have any impact on a game and I do not see any potential. It does not exactly help him to be part of a poor struggling team. P.S On a similar point I have just checked with BBC Sport because I thought Idah came on as a sub after 65 mins. Initially thought I was mistaken as I cannot recall seeing him or his name mentioned.

I personally would have gone with three at the back bearing in mind we were already 2-0 down. The opponents were never ever really throwing forwards at us but just playing good sound possession football. The result was that we never looked likely to put together any sort of attacking move and we just defended in depth and barely crossed the halfway line in the second half. For me, Wagner's tactics were simply an attempt to avoid further goals going in against us. Whereas just some sort of more attacking approach might have by some means or other scraped a draw. On the other hand we were pretty awful for the whole of the match.

Worst Norwich squad since..
vos replied to By Hook or Ian crook's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I am as frustrated as anyone with the recent performances against pretty poor opposition. There is no doubt we should have achieved a play off position albeit that this squad is well below the standard of our recent promotion sides who in turn made little progress in the "big money" Premiership. One factor which many seem to be missing is that the experienced backbone of the side has been ripped apart by injuries i.e. Hanley, Gibson, McClean and to a lesser extent Dowell, coupled with the fading Pukki and any side in the country will take time to recover from that. One factor which I do not quite understand is the number of injuries which seem to happen on the training ground, although this is obviously partly due to many of Webber's purchases being injury prone before they even came here. -
We need a complete reset. All the slow build up from the back is getting us nowhere because when a defender eventually decides to move the ball forward they are unable to find anyone in space and we are easily picked off. Sara is promising but he cant do it by himself and there is really no link with our front players. When passes are made they invariably go to the likes of Sargent, Pukki and Hernandez who already have a defender marking them tight and possession is quickly lost. On top of all this our passing tonight was woeful. In his early days Nunez actually showed good midfield talent in that he could quickly control the ball and create his own space, look up and play a decent ball. I know its early days, but it is worrying that Wagner shows no signs of improving tactics on any part of the pitch.

Our Scottish boys must be on a high for Saturday after this performance. With Adam Idah coming off the bench against France and described as "dangerous" - 3 points look like a formality this weekend.
