2.
I for one am not a fan of insurance as a whole but understand the need for it to cover massive costs. Theoretically though, if you added up the money you spent on insurance over your life and compared it to the money you avoided spending by claiming, the former would be more.
That would certainly be the case for the majority and for the average customer, as the insurance company has to add a margin for them to make a profit. However, it certainly would not be the case for all customers. What people pay for when they buy insurance, other legal requirements, is to protect themselves from a loss that they cannot afford, such as a written off car or a burnt down house, i.e. they give themselves the chance to be one of the few who gain more from insurance than they lose (its really just gambling on an event with long odds). If you can afford to suffer the loss, then you do not really need the insurance and should probably avoid purchasing it. Certainly most people should avoid buying insurance on electrical goods at the point of sale. Those products are generally guaranteed for at least a year and will usually be relatively easy to replace if you are unlucky enough for them to go wrong out of warrantee. Or at worst you can go without TV for a while... Most people will insure their homes though as not many can afford to rebuild if their house burns down! Personally, I use Aviva quite often for home and car insurance. I actually find them to be very competitive on prices, and trust me, I know how to shop around. Furthermore, you can be sure to get could service if you have a claim and have been honest when taking out your policy. Also, if you buy through Quidco, you can get very good cashback on Aviva policies, such as £60 on a Car policy and £40 on Building and Contents.
 3. The guy is an idiot. Surely they should have considered the temperatures before voting for Qatar. Oh, but that would have meant they could not accept any bribes...
 4. I think its very important that PUPs remains distinctly connected to the football club. I appreciate that point that the funds are now small chips for the academy and it would be nice if contributors can feel that the funds really make a difference to something. Its got me wondering if the money could be used somehow to support footballing kids at some level in the Norwich area? Like potential future academy recruits. I don''t know if anybody can come up with a way to do this? Perhaps local junior schools could be asked to nominate a promising footballing student and PUPs could assess the applicants and fund the winning kid for a week training course with the football club or something along those lines? Failing something that directly supports the football club then I guess a charity is the only option. In which case Hucks Trust would have to be my number 1 candidate. A significant connection to the football club is probably essential to the future continued success of PUPs.
 5.
Sound to me like Celtic have basically said to us ''try and pressure us and we''ll sell to someone else'' knowing that Hooper has to go now and only accepting QPR''s offers
That''s just not true though is it. The player has a lot of power in this situation. If Hooper says he will only go to Norwich then Celtic can either accept our bid or let Hooper see out his contract. It sounds to me like Hooper wants to join us but if Celtic stubbornly refuse our offer, it depends whether Hooper is willing to see out his contract or if he is so desperate to leave, that he will go to a Championship team and hope for the best.
 6. The absolute must for me is TWO more good strikers. To have less than 4 strikers in the squad would be close to suicide. Goals are essential and always will be. Signing less than 2 strikers could leave us with no options up front if we got a couple of injuries. Who would fancy a spell with Bechio up front on his own and no striker on the bench? We MUST sign 2 strikers.
 7.
We need a song for Big John I think... [8] He played in goal against the scum, Big John, Big John... He played in goal against the scum, Big John, Big John! He played in goal against the scum and never conceded more than one BIG JOHN RUDDY, NORWICH''S NUMBER ONE!
8.
If its blocked by UK ISP''s rather than shutdown like Pirate bay then all you have to do is find a Proxy and bookmark it, job done. Piece of piss.
Pirate Bay is not shut down. Its still easy to access via proxy.
 9. Seems like they complicate the process much more than necessary. It should not be hard to create a randomisation algorithm with and number of rules to take about of the problems they mention. I don''t think it would even be that difficult to program. No more than a few weeks work for 1 guy and then in future season''s its just a case of updating the ''rules'' where necessary.
 10.
The guy has just had a bad experience with his current club and contract. Why would he jump into talks with a club he knows nothing about during planned holiday time?
...especially when chances are he has heard nothing official about it and its probably all rumour as far as he is concerned.
 11. Saying we should forget about Lambert because it was over a season ago is a bit like saying forget about Kevin Muscat because that was many years ago. We don''t forget about stuff like that. If somebody sh1t on us they are going to be a rival for so long as we compete with them.
 12.
We have two cathedrals and dozens of churches, and footballers are known for their piety.[A]
Somewhat ironic that we also have the highest proportion of Atheists in the country, isn''t it?
 13. Of course everybody hopes RvW has a season like Benteke. It can only be good for us. If he moves on after a great season we will rake in a huge transfer fee which will allow us to buy in another like him - maybe even more proven than RvW is at this point. If he stays after a great season then even better...
 14. There''s not another 20 posts just like this one with all the other possible scores are there??? Great call.
 15.
If the club made the buyback scheme more realistic then you could have used that. But last time I looked it was something stupid like a fiver, and you don''t even get the money, I think it counts as a credit against next years season ticket!
FAO morty - OT got your msg but the thread seems to have been deleted. I totally agree. I did actually call the club this morning to ask about buy back as I''ve not been in this situation before. They said I would get 6 or 8 quid. But that would be a credit as a discount, NOT off next seasons season ticket, but off the following seasons season ticket. That''s pretty pathetic. I would like to use the scheme and allow the club to make a bit more money but they should at least offer half the sale price. What would they have sold it for? £40?
 16.

but people who are paid serious money to price up events and risk their firms money rate us as being 16/1 to be relegated.
dearie, dear me   bookmakers price their odds on what bets are placed NOT some absurd idea of what they think will/might happen   we are 16/1 because that reflects how much money has been placed on us to be relegated - against how much has been placed on the other clubs   bizarre how simpletons still bleat this crap about ''the bookies must know something''    the only thing they know is that there are enough gormless idiots who will line their pockets through ignorance
Errrm, that''s b0110x. How do you think the odds are set prior to any bets being placed? Of course there are statisticians working out what odds to offer. Following the setting of initial odds, they may adjust according to bets placed, but initial odds are always calculated by some method or other. And you are calling other people simpletons???
 17. After seeing him at the QPR game I was telling everybody he looked really classy, although I thought he was slightly off the pace due to fitness. Glad to hear the class continued yesterday. Looks like we have a quality player there.
 18. I work at Waterstones. It was on our shelves but has been removed due to lack of interest and confined to the Pulping pile. Nice plug though.
 19.
As for Martin, I hope he gets a chance. Apparently he''s wasted all hai chances, which is a load of BS, but there''s no pleasing some people. Could be the same situation as last season though, gets a bit of game time, doesn''t stand out, falls down the pecking order and leaves on loan. He wasnt rubbish in the games he played in the prem, he just wasn''t spectacular, which is what some people seem to expect from him. Gingerpele you the prem be realistic get rid of this local love fantasy with the guy he was given chance he did preform. we are in the premier league you can''t give a player ten games to prove himself, you simple can''t afford to waste that many games. he was given four game he did nothing went to place did about average. he may have bags of talent but if he can''t be ask like most of the time, then he want be anything
Hi Grant. Can you try training a bit harder please. Not up to scratch apparently.
 20. Nutty, I got a letter yesterday too but it said I have to wait until Monday before I can buy my Season Ticket. Did yours not say the same thing?
 21. Why do people keep saying this? I thought it was made pretty clear that we ended up offering Holt the deal he wanted and he turned it down saying its too late and he still wants to leave.
 22. If his contract was not renewed on the basis that Whitbread demanded too much then there is no case to answer. Lambert may have thought him our best CB but simply could not afford to retain him. So he will be totally in the clear to sign him up at Villa. I just hope McNally got a clause to not allow transfers to Villa for a year as it would be so so sickening to see Holt go there too. Although it would be nice to think Lambert might flop at Villa, I''m pretty sure he will do well. At least he will almost certainly do better than McLeish and he will be seen as a success. Given Lamberts record in Derbies/grudge matches, I don''t fancy our chances much against Villa this season either. So sickening.
 23.
McNally needs a song!     "He said Grant Holt was not for sale, McNally! McNally! He said Grant Holt was not for sale, McNally! McNally! He said Grant Holt was not for sale, he gets students thrown in Jail, Super Dave McNally, Norwich''s CEO"
Although you didn''t say it, I just know that goes to the tune of ''The animals went in 2 by 2''
 24. I heard Tierney had been shagging Morison''s missus. So I''m not sure your plan will quite work as the suggestion was that Tierney would be pushed out. Apparently he could have come back towards the end of the season. You could be right though - Moro could be top scorer next season. We defo need another striker to score a lot of goals though. Personally I hope Holt will still be here reinvigorated by our new manager.
