Didn''t we have Wynton Rufer from New Zealand? -
I''m getting edgy now as well. You are right; it gets your hopes up when we are constantly linked with players and then we sign someone who we weren''t expecting. Don''t get me wrong, I am not arguing with who we have signed so far but it seems to ruin things when it is all over the papers, Sky Sports etc that we are "talking" to someone.
Helveg, Primus & Pennant yes please. Too much to hope for all 3 perhaps but we must think big now we are in The Premiership. (That STILL feels good) -
We''re gonna win the league, we''re gonna win the league. Or to the same tune: We will avoid the drop, we will avoid the drop. If we do stay up, it will feel like winning the league anyway!
Thanks for the optimism Windy!! Feels pretty good mate. -
Who cares if he is rubbish. We should sign him just to sing those chants!! Give him 2 minutes at the end of every third match. -
Don''t worry, thats what these matches are for. We''ll be OK once the season gets under way.
Although it would be nice for us to beat someone 10-1 like Arsenal did at the weekend, but I don''t think we are playing Ipswich this pre-season are we? -
I see that Clint Easton is to sign for Wycombe today. Apparently he impressed in a friendly against Beaconsfield!! Good luck to him, I hope he does well. -
Thats Capitalism for you. We could wait until 2007 when they will be cheap but I can feel my flexible friend calling to me as I type this!! -
Let''s hope he isn''t reading this. We don''t want him too up for it in August do we? -
Dream on -
Could be mate. Unknown quantity factor is important here. He is a goal poacher and those half chances could make the difference next season. Can''t wait. -
Just read on the Malasyian Tour section on this site that we are tracking Ray Parlour as he won''t be offered a new deal at Highbury. I say go for it if we can afford him, a great engine, can score goals, bags of experience and only 31. (ie not a golden oldie mercenary). But will we have to pay his ex wife though as well? -
Didn''t Worthy say he was going to give Zema a chance. Seeing as NW likes to reward a good attitude towards fitness and training, I would say that Zema must have impressed during rehab and therefore deserves his opportunity. Who knows, he may surprise us all? -
The Daily Mail says we are upping our offer to 700,000. I think it will be more like 1,000,000 in
the end but still good value. -
Flick Fleck, I hope to God you are right mate!!! -
Could this also be part of the Celtic interst in Hendo? Part-ex maybe? I would like to see him back with us but his wages would probably be too much, nice idea though. -
Thanks mate!! My heart skipped a beat then!! You shouldn''t do that to already jumpy canaries!! In answer to your question, hopefully yes, with Worthy sat alonside a jet lagged Linvoy Primus. -
I know every match is important, but when was the last time the first game of the season could seriously be classed as a "six pointer"? How important will the Palace game prove to be and the end of the season? -
If Martin O''Neill rates him we should want to hold onto him. He is one for the future and we don''t need to sell players like him. If we hadn''t gone up though, we probably wouldn''t have any choice but to sell. -
Weston Super Mare. 20 miles south of Bristol (roughly). I lived in Sprowston between 1981-1984 whilst my dad was stationed at RAF Neatishead. Went to White Woman Lane school and was hooked on yellow & green from then on! -
Just logged on to the message board. We are back to last night''s posts. Have you invented a time machine? -
A bit harsh to say Malky has NO quality. Great in the air, strong in the tackle and in my mind a born leader. True, he isn''t blessed with pace but we do play deep so maybe that won''t be such of an issue. It can''t hurt his game to be called into the Scotland squad so give him and Flem a chance. A lot is going to depend on midfield battles next season, I''M more worried about Holt getting an injury to be honest.
Regardless of all this, roll on 14th August!!! -
Away to Everton 92-93. We won 1-0 with Chris Sutton scoring at the away end. Bryan Gunn was fantastic that day, but what I really remember was Sunderland fans coming in before kick-off because their game at Tranmere was called off. They really made the atmosphere that day as that used to be a big away end at Goodison and they packed it out.
I remember in that Sutton Utd match when Fleck completed his hat-trick, the Sutton keeper actually shook super Bob''s hand! On a sad note though, didn''t 2 Sutton fans lose theit lives in a car accident on the way up to FCR? -
Parts Assistant at a Vauxhall dealer. Glamorous, eh? NOT!!!!! -
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!! Mario Melchiot yes please though. (Probably Birmingham bound though)
