  1. Thanks. Just what I wanted to hear!!!
  2. ..last year we lost 2-1 at home to Watford. So whatever happens today lets remember where we are now and just how good it was last season overall. I know that we are all looking for that first win but if things don''t go our way against Charlton there is still a long way to go.  OTBC
  3. Drury to crowd:"Thanks for warning me Bothroyd was about to tackle me!" Also: "How many times do I have to jump this to prove I am NOT playing when injured?
  4. I agree in principle but we have to start winning games now. It sounds obvious I know but the longer this run goes on the harder it is going to get. We must get at least a point against Charlton and 3 points is a must against Southampton.
  5. I think Manure will come in for him. Carroll is their No 1 at the moment, whether Howard is injured or just dropped I don''t know or care, but surely he is better than either of them and a long term buy. I watched their 3rd/4th choice keeper, Luke Steele who is on loan at Coventry on sky last night and he didn''t look up to much so I would think they are on the lookout for a new man between the sicks.
  6. I am a nightmare if NCFC are playing. My constant need to check the scores between adverts, I have to know what is going on!  Her indoors even suggested waiting until MOTD to add a bit of excitement to it, (ie:NOT knowing the score until then!!). As if we need even more frayed nerves at the moment. Anyway, I would love this club if we were in the Conference or Premiership, it''s there in the blood. Always has been, and thus shall always be.  OTBC
  7. Great Post mate.  Should be a pinned post, I think we all need cheering up a bit. Thanks for taking the time & effort!
  8. Exactly Zipper. We need to STOP the crosses in the first place. OK, you never will stop all of them but the amount of time we allow the opposition to swing in a quality ball is astounding.  We defended deep last season and it worked because a) we had the Malky & Flem rock solid partnership. b)The quality of delivery was not of the same standard as this season. Hux needs to track back more & help Drury out, dare I say it, but is the great one pulling his weight at the moment?  Also, I would like to see Mullers or McVeigh given a proper chance, this is the prem Nige, a precise threaded through ball could make all the difference with the pace of our strikers. OTBC
  9. It''s all well and good sizing up the opposition in the first half but being 2-0 down at the break makes it too much of a mountain to climb.  Surely Nige knows the oppositions strengths and weaknesses beforehand so why not go for it from the start.  I think we are overawed at the start and too slow to catch on the opponents tactics. This is where communication from the bench needs to come in and get instructions to the players during the game. ie Adapt & Overcome. Hopefully tommorrow will be different and we can all watch MOTD with that elusive first win under our belts.  OTBC.
  10. Come on then Old Boy, let''s have a new thread.
  11. We had this in the summer. The response was a mixed one, but I think he could be worth a look. OK, so he is an ex-binner, but I''d bring Eric Gates out of retirement if he could score for us.
  12. Some things just go straight over some people''s heads, don''t they?
  13. Alright Gloucester!  Blimey a fellow canary only 60 miles away! Suddenly don''t feel so alone, get to many games?  My folks are based at Innsworth so in your neck of the woods a fair bit.  As regards your thread, who would 2 or even 3 million buy us these days anyway?
  14. I don''t think EVERYONE was slagging Leon off.  I think that people just get frustrated with his rushed finishing. He gets in great positions and works really hard, but sometimes the finish isn''t quite there, it will happen for him. As regards to Svensson, he looked tired & jaded in the first few games, but since being dropped he has obviously worked hard and rightfully, won his place back. It would be nice to see him in more goalscoring positions though.
  15. Only because it was reported on Sky Sports yesterday he wanted away.
  16. Why are we so worried about what Ipswich are doing? Let''s worry about us. Can you imagine if a Tractor Boy came on this site (which we know they do)? He would be straight back on their site having a right laugh at our expense. I am confident we will stay up, I also think they will come up so lets look forward to doing them twice again next season. NEVER FORGET: TOP OF THE LEAGUE AT POORMAN ROAD!!
  17. I think this has been discussed previously, would like to see it but I don''t think it would happen. Probably be someone like Liverpool or Villa he goes to.  I like the idea of a player plus cash deal though, which player(s) did you have in mind?
  18. 1. 17th place with a 5 point gap. 2.Leon to have scored 10 goals by then. 3.Greeno to have made his England debut. 4.NW to win December manager of the month. 5.An anniversary celebration to commemerate "Top of the league at Portman Road". 6.Delia to open her chequbook for the january sales. 7.A Guitar. 8.More "press conference at... " announcements. 9.Sven Goran Eriksson at Carrow Road to watch Greeno,Hux & Leon. 10.To still be optimistic.
  19. Isn''t it nice to see how other fans can come on here and have a reasoned debate? What exactly is his point? OK, they beat Warnocks mob 5-1, which is a good result as Sheff Utd have been on a bit of a roll recently, but how does it affect us? Answer, it doesn''t, not one bit. Joker, we are in a different league(literally). PS: I actually hope you come up this year, would be nice to double you again. OTBC
  20. I think we are all a bit disappointed at the way Bentley has performed so far. NW must be as well, but I was surprised to see him left off the bench. Could be that Worthy was letting him know that even if you are a fledgling Bergkamp, you are not bigger than this club.
  21. I am behind them mate. All the way from minute one, was meant as a joke not to be taken too seriously. Just thought there was a bit of a doom & gloom feeling on here today.
  22. Agreed DDiM, Brennan did OK, especially as he was playing in front of a 3 man midfield which looked exposed time & time again against quick counter attacks.  4-4-2 is the answer is this division with Hucks tracking back more.  If Safri is as good a passer of the ball as you say, drop Jonson & put Safri in, then at least we still have the work rate in the team, get Edworthy overlapping down the right & problem solved!
  23. the club should offer half price tickets as we don''t turn up for 1st halves these days?
