After getting promoted in 2005, West Ham finished 9th in the Premiership (55 points) and got to the FA Cup Final where they lost on penalties to Liverpool in what was one of the best ever finals. They were also 8th after 25 games, albeit with 3 more points than we currently have. Also as with the previous two seasons we have got stronger as the season has progressed, which seems to be happening again now. Could we replicate what the Hammers achieved in 2006? I certainly think we can.

I agree. I had noticed the similarities of the League 1 and Championship seasons, how we started slowly but got stronger as the season progressed. I was unsure if we would continue that pattern ths season, but having won 6 out of 9 and only losing one since Spurs it seems that looks set to happen again. We can finish as high as we like.

Leicester allocation

I''m not sure that''s the reason. I remember when we played West Ham in 2005 in the FA Cup I had to move (I''m in block J usually) because they had the full allocation. -
I think part of the problem with Torres is Chelsea''s style doesn''t suit him. Their system is set up for someone like Drogba - big, heavy, target man. Not someone like Torres who needs the ball to feet, played for him to run on to or crossed in on to his head... If Torres was here I think he''d score way more regularly because of the way we play.

Pete, I have Duchenne myself - if you want any help with anything just PM me... -
I would expect the signing on fees and wages to be vastly higher though, what we are doing is more sustainable, if we got relegated.

Away Shirt Personalisation ?
Sing Up The South Stand replied to JJ's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Why are the squad numbers taking so long to come out? Really want to get Vaughan on the away shirt but don''t know whether I can be bothered to wait for the numbers to be released!
Could always get Vaughan on now and get the number at a later date.... -
Got to be honest I can''t see any glaring inaccuracies in that article. The errors regarding Lambert''s name was down to Delia''s exuberance rather than duff reporting.
Some things were taken out of context, like "staying up" was obviously not referring to this season. And the fact we were playing Man City not United.

Just wondering.......

I wouldn''t say they are unfair, could be fairer but that''s about it. 6th play 3rd so in theory that is to give the 3rd best team the best chance. I think they should be, 3rd get''s a bye to Wembley, then 6th play 5th away, with the winner of that playing 4th away... Then the winner of that plays 3rd in the final. -

Someone''s just confirmed to me on Facebook, it is... But blimey, I was near him at Watford and Ipswich as also in the wheelchair areas... And now he''s died. Wasn''t my favourite person, but still that is awful. RIP Richard. -
