  1. If he is good enough for Worthy, he is good enough for me! Just hope that if we do sign him, he will not be put in the team for a week or two until he has a chance to settle. How often do you see new signings at clubs have an immediate impact? Give the lad a chance and what matters if he looks like an 82 bus as long as is strong enough to stop one! OTBC
  2. I Hope not!! No better than what we have already. OTBC
  3. Right on, Magic Eyes - that''s what you need if you sit in some areas of the Barclay! No, seriously, what do we go to Carrow Road for? I go to a/support the team I have followed for over 50years and b/ to be able to see and enjoy the game I love. Yes, I used to stand when it was allowed and sometimes, even now, wished we could stand at times but the law says we must sit. I can sympathise with those fans wishing to stand but not up to the point when our Club could be in danger of losing something which is vital to its very existence. I would plead with the fans wishing to stand to protest in the proper manner by getting the law changed to enable a standing only area provided, then everybody would be happy (hopefully!) I can also sympathise with the fan who has paid £300 - £400 for his seat and then sees only part of the games. I think the Club, having raised this issue by sending letters with other info. regarding standing, should come out and set out what it proposes to do about the situation - then the fans would know exactly where they stand! (pardon the pun) OTBC
  4. Having watched two of the so-called super clubs perform yesterday afternoon, I know who I would rather be watching thru my green and yellow specs!! but we must not forget football is all about opinions and we are all entitled to say what we believe about games and individuals. It does not mean that we are not respectful of the team we choose to support - a lot of the criticism come as a result of disappointment and is not always justified. OTBC
  5. Agree, Susie b - The tension on the pitch certainly had a bearing on the reaction of the fans. The atmosphere in the Jarrold has certainly improved, but any noise generated Saturday was negated by the Palace fans who were brilliant. Having said that, our travelling fans are equally as vocal and I would just hope that with the visits of the more so called important teams, the level of our support will increase. We shall see, perhaps the club could introduce piped crowd noise into the areas of the ground notably silent, ie City Stand, River End etc. We could even record a selection of our favourite songs!! How about it? OTBC
  6. Isn''t it amazing how we all seem to watch a different game! Going thru the team, I thought Green was as usual, superb - Drury, after a very nervous start, did improve and did actually get forward more than usual - Helveg, though composed, did seem a bit out of position somewhat, Flem was Flem, what a player! - Charlton - don''t know yet - he seemed to be struggling at times and a bit of a hoofer, don''t think he is much better than Malky and certainly not as commanding in the air - Midfield, Awol at times with Francis a bit disapointing - Holt, doing what he does best, chasing everything - Svennson - not at his best, winning virtually nothing in the air, should have been replaced by Leon at half time - Bentley - a tentative start with a few neat touches, but didn''t really get stuck in - he was substituted when he had just started to play a bit - Jonson - some neat touches but badly needs games to adjust to the pace, Hucks - well, without his flair and committment, we wouldn''t have got anything out of the game. Edworthy -didn''t understand why he was not put in his posiiton. Neil Adams said Worthy did not want to upset the back four! - Mcveigh - looked quite sharp when he came on. Worthy said he was satisfied with a point and I suppose since Palace played most of the football, perhaps we should be grateful for the point but I found the whole game a bit of an anti-climax after all the hype leading up to the start of the season. Still, I think the team will have a different attitude when they face Man U & Arsenal. Match Officials - Dreadful and need help from a man in the stands!! M O M Wayne Routledge - what a cocky little player - good though!
  7. Anybody see the new Anglia TV Soccer Night last night? Thought it was a bit naff but then with expert? Brazil what do you expect. Also, somebody needs to tell Kevin Piper that we signed one further Swedish international and a Danish international called Helveg!! Whoever does their research? Still, let''s hope they have more to talk about next week! OTBC
  8. A very interesting summary of our team, Who. and thanks for your good wishes, which are reciprocated with reservations (that we finish around mid-table above WB!) I always liked Gary Megson, as a player and a too honest Manager when he was here. I would like to see him have a reasonably successful spell at WB and hope too that we new boys replace some of the regular strugglers in the Prem. OTBC
  9. A great day out for all the family! The Club are to be congratulated on making the ground available to us all. I thought the players deserve a day off tomorrow for their patience and as they all must be suffering from writers cramp! Thank you NCFC OTBC
  10. I have just been watching a re-run of the re-run of The Premiership Years on Sky and realised what a wonderful period of success the Club enjoyed on the Pitch during some of the Chase years. Yes, I agree with much Templeton says and it was such a pity that we did not have a Board strong enough to stand up to the man when obvious cash injection was needed at certain times, ie when we were pressing for title and later when we were trying to avoid relegation. Unfortunately, clubs go through such traumas and lessons are not always learned but the current situation we find ourselves in seems much healthier than the past with a Chairman and Board willing to take a few chances. OTBC
  11. Here, Here Robbo. I do not think we must draw any wrong conclusions from Hucks apparant reluctance to pose in the team photo. There are about 25 others with similar expressions which is an obvious ploy to warn off the opposition!! OTBC
  12. I think Charlton is asking Helveg if he has heard the one about the Englishman, Scotsman and Irishmen cos they are standing right behind him!! I don''t think Hucks is the only grumpy looking one on the team photo, in fact, there are only about 6 of em with a slight inclination of a smile! Praps they are told to be severe looking to frighten off any opposition!! OTBC
  13. I have just seen the Posh headed goal and it would seem that worthy has a lot more work on the training ground on dealing with high balls into the box. I was at the training session on Friday and Worthy spent quite a while putting high crosses into the box and really bollac...g the defenders for not dealing with them properly. We definitely need some height in there and I can see Malky starting on Saturday. Cracking goal from Bentley though. OTBC
  14. I went to see the boys training Friday and the spirits seemed ok. Yes, Worthy was having a go at times but nothing out of the ordinary. Hucks was not training but ran round the field while the others were training. He must have done around 10 laps. When the session finished, everybody looked happpy and relaxed, including Hucks and I ask him how he was doing and he said ''I''m, getting there''. I would think the injury problem was genuine and look forward to seeing him in action Saturday. OTBC
  15. I heard ages ago from a Crewe contact that we had made a bid for Dean Ashton but nothing seems to have come of it? Anybody else heard anything. I am surprised there has been no bids for Dean as he is a quality striker and would be an asset to any team OTBC
