1. I''d try and avoid thinking commentators are all out to get Norwich. Just wait until we get Paul Merson tracking one of our games on SSN on a saturday 3pm KO. He will not be able to pronounce Wes'' name for love nor money. I think you could pretty much include any footballer with a surname of 4letters or more in that. So Holt & Fox should be fine! I think some points that norwich get this season will be when other teams don''t turn up or under estimate norwich''s work rate. Lets hope its alot of times, for our sake. I would rather be in the premiership than any other league, to say otherwise is rediculous.
2. If i thought Norwich sticking 11 players infront of the ball would keep united out at old trafford, i''d advocate it. Sadly it won''t the ref will see to that. fergie time +10minutes if its 0-0, or shock, norwich are leading. (lol!)
3. All true. I think Holty will just take time. He has been our most prolific striker in the last 2 seasons. The step up this time is greater, he will chip in with his 5-10 goals i hope and morrison the same with everyone else contributing. Theres a ''did you know'' stat on the bbc report saying except chelsea and united, norwich have the most goals from different players in the prem. something like 7 compared to chelseas 8 and uniteds 10! Though if you look how many goals they''ve scored, thats probably helps! I would DEFINITELY taken 8 pts from 6 games. The only game i was a bit dissapointed in was West Brom, we didn''t seem to be able to open them up to get a decent opportunity. The stoke game was depressing and more experience would have seen us get 3 pts there and we would be on 10 level with liverpool after same games played. can''t exactly moan about that! The first half of the season and up until March is our most iportant period, we need the points on the board before April. I think the final 3rd of the season is going to be VERY tough with many big teams back to back
4. I saw this. Made me smile. In the first half there was a move where Norwich had broken and hoolahan had it on his own upfront just like david silva for man city when he offloaded it to milner who went on to score. Exactly the same thing but norwich were crowded out as we didn''t have enough people forward or sunderland had more back (man city can afford to lump more forward!) the press went mad about silva''s pass and how good it was, mom etc. Hoolahan doesn''t seem to have made the press, it''s just circumstance!
5. lol he was the ghost goal ref wasn''t he, reading v watford?
6.

According to the itemon the Beeb site, old Whisky Nose thinks Man Utd are hard done by and should be getting more TV money. Unbelievable! Mungo
i watched the clip they had on the website. he''s probably right, from tv revenue ALONE they don''t get enough to compete with clubs who have generous benefactors, man city, real and barca (although they have been doing pretty well recently!) However if there''s one club in england, if not europe and the world who have benefitted most from the influx of TV revenue, it''s Manchester United, being the single most successful club over the last, what, 15years. I suspect what he''s saying is Manchester United are planning on selling the rights to their football games, outside of sky poss 2013 or in the future. Don''t real madrid and barca negoatiate separately to the rest of la liga?
I''ve edited out my numerous typos in the quoted bit.

8. Before i opened the thread i was going to go for 2-1 city aswell. I''m hopeful we will win, i can''t see us keeping a clean sheet (penalty) and can''t see us scoring 3 in a game this season. So 2-1 city, and i might look at who takes sunderlands penalties and put £5 on it.
9. I saw Warnock mentioned the referee in his pot match interview (inevitable). Said he was trying to make a name for himself and that the penalty was always on his mind, and was going to give one at somepoint. I also quite liked his appraisal of Traore''s efforts. Several of my arsenal supporting friends said he was absolute toilet for them but then puts in a cleansheet performance of his life against, wolves? Necastle? something like that. they are now please he is back to his error strewn best. It''s a shame that once again it is all about the referee''s. Need video technology now, surely, its been several seasons now where the ref is frequently deciding games. there''s too much money in the game now, everything needs to be as right as it can be,
10. hah - i always read the PUPs thread last season for tips for my own personal accumulator but as i wasnt registered as a picker i didn''t submit my thoughts. Will endeavour to take part more regularly.
11. Burnley vs Southampton Away win. Southampton won 6 lost 1 this season, Burnley just 1 draw at home and 2 defeats.
12. If the games he has played in Norwich have always ended in defeat it does not bode well for his contribution. However having said that wasn''t it Gareth Bale who didnt play in a game that Tottenham won for over a season? There''s a fact out there somewhere for pub quizzes. From the two games i''ve seen in full that he played in i didn''t feel his contribution warranted him a guarenteed start. I felt other options offered just as much. Lambert clearly thinks he''s quality as he started him in both Chelsea and West Brom (perhaps others but i didn''t see them and i can''t be arsed to check). I think thats all anyone needs to know, the rest is just an individuals opinion. It''s a forum, everyones entitled. even if it is pointless drivel! Like Mick McCarthy''s response to Joey Barton''s comments, "Opinions are like ar*eholes, everyone has one". Brilliant.
13.
"I have absolute confidence norwich will be safe after watching them play. They just need to keep 10 players on the pitch!!!!" I''d be even happier with keeping all 11 on.
opps brain thinking faster than fingers. A combination between having 11 on the pitch or not going down to 10 is what i seem to have got confused about.
14. I don''t get to see Norwich play live much but i was at the Chelsea game. (Chelsea East Stand). It was very quiet - not much chanting or singing apart from at the beginning when they sung "chelsea chelsea" repeatedly. I could deifnitely hear the Norwich fans throughout the game, good work all in the away end. At the beginning holty seemed to just stand offside waiting for something to happen but i did cheer when he almost put Terry in the advertising boards. Overall he, like most of the side played exceptionally well and kept a good side on the back foot during large portions of the game away from home. I was very happy and i dont think 3-1 was a fair reflection of the game. I have absolute confidence norwich will be safe after watching them play. They just need to keep 10 players on the pitch!!!!
15.
You forget the fact that as a human being Ruddy was probably mortified at the fact he injured a fellow profesional and the last thing he will want reminding of is Knocking out Drogba. What if he never goes for a 1 on 1 punch again because of the incident ? All he needs is a bunch of apes singing this dross :)Grats guys
I assume this is sarcastic! i get the feeling there''s probably quite a few players who''d like to knock drogba out and get away with it. At least this time he didn''t go rolling around the floor...
16.
of course we can win! £5 on city to beat chelsea and leeds to beat the binners = £220
haha, awesome bet. Sadly i''m more of a pessimist and although it would be brilliant if norwich beat chelsea, history suggests we will lose 4-0. like te previous 3 trips we have made to stamford bridge (stat from skysports) I wonder what hte odds are on 4-0.
17. I''m going but i will be in one of the home ends with a friend who is a chelsea fan. I get the feeling it''s going to be a long 90minutes!
18. I''m going with 2 friends, of which one is a hcelsea fan so we''re in one of the home sections. should be fun, i might have to go ''plain clothed'' :D I''ll keep a norwich scarf in my pocket. My ticket cost £51 so whoever got it for 50 has had a bargain ;)
19. I saw this, was good to hear their opinion and reasons for why (wait for the end) ?Norwich are guarenteed to be relegated. I didnt think the reasons matched his conclusion.
20.
I wish we were still in league 1, this wouldn''t be an issue.
HAHA. I don''t want to ever be back there again.
21.
WHY HAVEN''T THE CLUB COME OUT AND DENIED THIS?
they dont comment on speculation. particularly hopeless speculation.
22. hehe the author is a binner? or have i got that mixed up. I could see holty signing a new contract for 3 years and then 4 months later taking a step down to leicester who are by no means guarenteed ap lay off place let alone promotion. Would not want to be in the championship this season, very strong. This is so far off it is hillarious read, trying to find the reasons why he would go. "But boss Paul Lambert’s £3million purchase of Welsh international striker Steve Morison from Millwall, one of seven new summer signings at Carrow Road, means Holt is no longer guaranteed a regular place." bwahhaahaha team captain, fans favourite 2 years running and the best part of 60goals in two seasons for someone who like morrison was playing in the lower echelons of football. Might give it a green arrow i think this is an amazing effort of filling column inches with complete rot.
23. They wanted alot for Danny Graham, wasn''t it 3.5 million in the end? I could see him going all David Nugent and having his confidence shot if he doesn''t hit the gorund running and they have man city first up! However he could be a DJ campbell and get 10-15 or so goals next season. Will have to wait and see, getting very exciting now, one week and 2 days to go! WOOHOOO
24. cf25 - your assessment doesn''t seem to tie up with most of the recent reports about him though. Most who have seen him have been impressed with hi sall round play. We won''t see too much of him this season but i hope he proves his doubters wrong. The 20or so mins he will get every other week or so might not be enough for him to get on a roll though.
25. he seemed to be turning himself into a decent midfielder second half of the season last season. Perhaps his off field exploits are behind him, or at least curbed. he famously said this though (or something to the effect) "i am the best midfielder in england".... and then went on to slate gareth barry (quite rightly, hes rubbish) and gerrard. And there in lies the problem, he is dillusional and has an image problem which is esential for commerical activities of any club.
