  1. Please, Archie! How can you call Atomic Kitten a pop group? I thought that pop was short for popular! I''ll let you off if you can a) confirm that you are only repeating what somebody else has mistakenly claimed, and b) if you promise never to do it again in reference to that lot. Our singing at FCR is often better!
  2. Be careful, gazza, you know what cheese before bedtime can do! Remember the ''City Dreams'' thread?
  3. I let a friend have my season ticket recently and I got a casual ticket in the N & P lower, so I can truly claim to have seen and heard the "CHEESEBOARD" guy at close quarters. I was really amazed when he started up, but the effect he had on everyone around him was fantastic. It was so completely daft that you couldn''t help laughing until your sides ached. I must admit I had forgotten about this until now, so I''ll look out for him next weekend v Stoke. He certainly needs inviting onto the pitch to start off a rousing chorus of ''on the board, cheddar, never mind the pickle..., etc.''
  4. Well said, ZLF. I was really shocked to see that Gillingham have about 10 more full-time pros in their squad than we do, and several of ours are still very young. We need to be very careful with each and every one of players right now. We''ve been comparatively lucky with injuries so far, but that might change.
  5. Not long now until the white-coat brigade pull up in my drive! Ok, paradox. One more for the road. I have the Hucks wallpaper on my home computer and, ever since he joined us permanently - (how good does that still sound?) - I have made a point of saying ''thank you for joining us and good luck'' as I switch off. Seems to have done the trick most of the time ''cos even when he has a quiet game he still seems to be very influential. Do I feel stupid about this? You bet. But I am sure not going to stop until you-know-what is in the bag!
  6. While on the subject of laughing at the Binners, I was invited round my neighbour''s for a meal last Saturday evening. The fact that my neighbour is a Binner didn''t worry me too much as I knew the topic of football would probably be avoided like the plague, and indeed was. What I did find amusing was that, while a wee drink was being fetched for me, I found myself humming the tune to the ''he scored against the scum, then he scored another one'' song...rather loudly, in fact. Next thing I knew I was mouthing the words. If the drink hadn''t arrived, those little words would have popped right out of my mouth, I think! Sweet revenge for those less sweet times!
  7. Wiz, I have just got in from a hard evening''s graft and am relaxing having a browse on here, when what do I see? A really nice compliment from your good self! I''m sure I''ve done little to deserve it, unlike others, but I''m well chuffed. Thank you.
  8. Only if you do first, paradox! I have to go to work now, sadly, and try to be sensible for a few hours...but I shall look forward to having a good read when I get back this evening. Don''t let me down, now!
  9. Thank you, thank you, thank you, paradox! I''m not the only one who has lucky knickers then. I so needed that confirmation ''cos I''m getting plenty of stick for my confession of yesterday! (I will now add that I have a lucky NCFC beanie bear in my car and he has to sit on my lap all the way to work and back again on the day before weekend matches and on the actual day of midweek games). It will take more closet superstitious types to come out on here before I add any more, though!
  10. Link NR9, you must introduce yourself as such at the next home game and we can chat about this mb! Presumably we both know the cricket umpire who sits there too.
  11. Whoever is given the job keeping Johnson quiet on Saturday PLEASE do a good job. Don''t think I could bear having to see that truly awful burger-munching routine he does when he scores!!!
  12. You''ve summed it up really well, cityangel. Can''t add to that, except that I get very frustrated on Wednesdays as I can''t get to a computer for 4 plus hours on a Wednesday and then have so much to catch up with. No one''s fault. Perhaps I need a new job!
  13. Clint''s probably at home right now, just down the road from me in Wymondham, watching tv! Scary, eh? No...not what he''s watching, but the fact that he might be able to see my window from his!
  14. Don''t worry Kathy, I would, of course, have no time whatsoever to sleep as I would be out doing ''research'' or tied to my desk trying to put together decent copy for peeps to digest at their leisure! Anyone got any matchsticks or ProPlus?
  15. I was delighted at West Brom winning as this takes valuable points from those that might take one of the auto places from either of the two of us. If we can both break away from the chasing pack it should have a real psychological effect on the chasers as each game goes by and they have fewer points to pick up in order to catch up.
  16. Only just got in so sorry I''m slow to add a name to this thread. I once taught a lad whose name was King, and who went by the first name of Lee! He had a brother, Mark, who was pretty good at footy too!
  17. Right! I''m definitely not going to have any credibility left after this one, but I believe in openness, baring the soul, etc., etc. I have a lucky pair of green knickers that I have to have washed ready to wear for any match, home or away. If I forget to put them on, we seem to do badly. I also have a City fridge magnet on my Hotpoint fridge. If it is touching the word ''Hotpoint'' we seem to do ok, and I have to make sure it is in the right place before I leave the house to go to a game. These are just two of the things I shall mention at this stage as I shall wait with baited breath to see if anyone else confesses to anything, as on the ''Dreams'' thread! Wiz, I''m sure, does something with celery to ensure our good fortune, so that one should be worth waiting for!!!
  18. I generally love reading his column, but haven''t a clue who he is! What I do know is that I harbour a secret (no longer secret!) ambition to be ''THE BIRD IN THE STANDS''. If I hadn''t gone into the world of education I would have loved to become a journo, so if there''s anyone out there from Archant who thinks this is a goer, please post an e-mail on here. I am waiting!!!
  19. I have never left a game early, and am lucky to live within twelve miles of the ground so I arrive about an hour before games as well. The only valid excuse I can think of for leaving early is that the transport you rely on might leave at a certain time and may be the only way of getting home, hence you HAVE to go before the end. Other than that, I''m with you Hayden. (Remember the Wimbledon game earlier on this season. Even though we won, they scored two beauties in the last four or five minutes. A lot certainly can happen in these latter stages of games, and I think it only right and proper to applaud the lads for all their efforts, especially during this season when they have worked so hard to get where they are).
  20. Before the match Iwan came over to shake hands with a lad I sit near, and talk to him for a bit. As he is a lad with learning difficulties, gestures like this mean absolutely everything to him, and you could see the pride written all over his face as one of his heroes was standing there with him. Iwan...LEGEND! Whoever you are booing him - SHAME ON YOU!
  21. I don''t want to be on the bench! I have scored whenever I''ve been on this board (?!?!) so my goals-to-posts ratio is very good! I have turned up to training every day and made every effort to get on with my fellow posters, star strikers or otherwise, so I demand a place in the elite league of posters or else I will go and join the Fab W. ''toys-out-of-the-pram-sour-grape-eating society'', so there! Besides, I haven''t got much meat on my botty to make sitting on a piece of wood very comfortable. And also, city angel should not be allowed to play with Hucks up front when I could be doing a decent job instead!!! I await my personal promotion, yours, etc. etc.
  22. It''s got to be a West Brom win for me, followed by a draw if that doesn''t happen. Making Wigan''s task of reaching us harder has got to be the way to go. Never mind the title...I just want us to get up. (A WB win would make for one happy bunny in my office, and as I work closely with him this would also make for a pleasant few days for me, instead of me having to cope with Mr. Grumpy and all his associated nasty habits when he''s in a bad mood!)
  23. Didn''t see Wretslemania myself, so don''t know anything about that one...but there was a Norwich shirt in the crowd at Sabina Park, Jamaica on the third day of the test match on Saturday AND a large England flag yesterday as the winning runs were hit, which had KING''S ARMS, NORWICH written on it. Anyone know anyone who is out there following the England boys as part of the Barmy Army? (Where is the King''s Arms, for that matter. I don''t get out much, you see!)
  24. At this moment in time I think Worthy is doing as good a job as he can for us, and he seems to be learning all the time. The work ethic he insists upon from the players is matched by his own, I feel, and he represents our club in public in a way that makes me feel even more proud to be a supporter. Imagine having to cope with the embarrassment of trying to defend BFJ, Warnock, Moore, and even, now, Pardew, in the firing line from other teams'' fans! In that situation I don''t think I''d even bother! I really hope his gets his due reward and takes us back to you-know-where. (Still can''t bring myself to say those words).
  25. I already have! Spooooky, eh? But which husband and wife team on this board will be helping me out? Mr and Mrs Wiz perhaps?
