1. The back line has to be changed after that crap at the weekend, total change. think of the worst possible............                             4-0, it''s just happend!   HELVEG           THE DOC           SHACKS         CHARLTON   Helveg, this guy has lots of experience but needs time to get into it, plus im getting pi$$ed off with shouting where was edworthy. The doc, the centre back with the most prem experience of the lot, bought for that reason. Try playing him then worthy you fool. Shacks, hot prospect and great in the air, give the lad a chance. we cant go any lower than 20th place. Charlton, looks the best of our back four this season, but he aint a centre back. so why play him there.
 2.
OK - So Worthy has done a good job getting into the Premiership no doubt - But surely we are entitled to a bit better than what we have been served . We all knew that the team that won promotion wasn''...
Try the board, they hold the purse strings.
 3. Not sure what yesterday''s match was. charlton just seemed to look to tee the ball up in the box for a unchallenged header which worked. We need a proper centre back that can challenge for headers. TIME IS RUNNING OUT
 4.
I met a couple of Scandinavians outside the main entrance whilst the players were arriving - thoroughly nice chaps. I thought Jonson had a really good half, but he should have kept his temper instead ...
Hey Brum Uni Canary, did you used to post on the 606 boards. if so, what was your screen name?
 5. The main thing that has struck me about this premiership season is Everton and the fact that at the begining of the season they were considered relegation material and how well they are performing so far, i think this has alot to do with the formation that they are using (4-1-4-1). We are now a third of the way into the season and i think things have to change, why not try this formation for a couple of games and see how it goes. At the end of the day what have we got to lose. This is what i''d try for the next game                            GREEN EDDY     DOC/SHACK       FLEM      CHARLTON                            SAFRI JONSON    MULLERS        FRANCIS    HUCKS                         McKENZIE Bench, Ward, Doc/Shack, Holt, Bentley, Sven. You may notice that i have left Drury out, this is because Sat he look like he wasn''t ready to return to the first team through fitness so i would give him a game in the reserves until i was sure he was up to it again. Also giving another centre back a chance. I would also give mullers a game because he can create chances from nothing and at the moment we look like we lack that. As much as i like Holt i dont think he can cut it in this league and Safri should be given a proper chance, when he has played i thought he looked good. A couple more things, What do people think about the rumours of Titus Bramble coming in Jan? And one of my mates is a Toffee and his dads a season ticket holder, He recons that in Jan they are gonna make a move for GREEN to replace the aging Martyn. 5 mil plus kev campbell he recons. Have they spent any of the money they got for Rooney?
 6.
I dont agree at all, If we had someone to hold the ball up or put our opponents under pressure more consistantly our defence wouldn''t have to do the work it has recently. The defence is not the proble...
How can the defence not be the problem? look at the goals we have conceded. when do we win 50/50 headers? Sven comes back for every corner and freekick to mark the tallest player and when(if) we clear the ball it goes straight up the field to nobody that can challange for a header. then comes straight back catch22.
 7.
How can we be worse than last season???? Lets look at the players brought in: Bentley - overated, can''t even get on the bench Doc - overated, can''t get in the team Jonson - rubbish and cost quite a ...
Just a couple of things, Doc- overated, cant get in the team. The doc is a centre back, how many times has he played in that position? A. none. so how can he be overated? he aint a striker. He also has more prem experience than most of our team Fleming- been goog overall. what, even when he let bent run across him and score. he seems to just run at the man with the ball. jonson- rubbish. he has shows signs that he can compete in this league and i dont think he''d have fifty odd caps if he was rubbish. Maybe if someone made an opening for him to pass to in would be easier. I agree about henderson though, what was worthy doing? its time for a shake up. doc for fleming, Safri for Holt(when his fasting things finished) and about time mullers had his chance.                      Green     Eddy     Doc    Charlton     Drury                    Safri          Mullers          Franny mckenzie                          hucks                     Sven Mullers and franny dropping back a bit deeper to support Safri, i thought against Everton leon looked as good as hucks can coming in from the wide right.
 8.
The way we threw it away today - we need more than just Bent - need a decent right winger - a strong play maker and passer in midfield and of course a striker. Have we got the money? No.....
HOW ABOUT A DEFENDER THAT CAN CHALLANGE FOR HEADERS IN THE BOX?
 9.
Fleming and Charlton are too small and too slow we need to give Shackle a go and bring a taller central defender in also Drury always gives the winger too much room and lets him cross the ball.
I wrote a post along the same lines entitled "IS IT TIME FOR THE DOC" yesterday and people said things like "how many times have we conceded headed goals" or "we arn''t scoring enough goals, we dont need to change the defence". Like i said yesterday we only have to score one goal to win a game but if we let goals in, then we need to score more. Today proved that fact! AND THAT WAS QUITE A COSTLEY HEADED GOAL secondly, i''d like someone to name a premiership club that has the two central defenders, both of which are under 6feet? (must be the first choice pair)
 10.
How can anyone say maybe its a defender we need and not a striker. We have created quite enough and more chances to win nearly all of our games but our strikers just haven''t been good enough. Where ar...
WAS THE ONE TODAY GOOD ENOUGH TO PROVE THE POINT THAT WE NEED SOME HEIGHT AT THE BACK POTTSY?
 11. I''ve had a idea about those rip off chelsea mugs. Whey they come to carrow road why dont we rise the price of the away tickets to fifty pounds? if any of them come then we get the money and if they dont then they have to play infront of no support which can be hard for the best of teams.
 12.
How can anyone say maybe its a defender we need and not a striker. We have created quite enough and more chances to win nearly all of our games but our strikers just haven''t been good enough. Where ar...
Firstly its called an opinion and anyone that comes onto these boards is intitled to one. if we didn''t let goals in, in practicly every first half then we would only have to score one in the second, which we do practicly every game. look at the amount of goals that the Everton strikers have scored, about five between them. Then look at the amount of goals they have conceded, not many and they are in third spot. Are you still trying to tell me that our back line is doing well and its not time for a change?
 13. Next to your name you have the picture with "all i want for x-mas is three points". With things the way they are, still needing our first win. I''m not saying that its a curse but how bad would it be if we got to X-mas still needing our first three points?(the caption would fit perfect though). So i put forward to you that before the Blackburn game you could change it to something different, we will win without a doubt and if we dont then i will cut one of my legs off. PLEASE HELP US!
 14. Everyone keeps talking about our need for a striker but i think a problem that is being overlooked is the defence, flem and char have looked good "at times" but everytime the ball is crossed in the air it has me on the edge of my seat. we have tryed different strikers to score the goals but if we dont let any goals in then we only need to score one to win a game. worthington bought the Doc as a centre back, so why not give the man a try? Whats the worst that could happen?
 15.
If I was looking at the situation in a hard headed business way I would say that our best chance of staying up would be to get rid of Worthy, bring in Strachan and give him some money to spend in Janu...
ARE YOU STUPID? What would be the reason? Cos we have lost against Arsenal(current champs), Man yoo(most successful prem team), Liverpool(always up there) and Everton(most inform team in prem) or cos any of the other games could have gone either way. ME THINKS YOU''RE A BINNER
 16.
JUST THOUGHT I WOULD LET YOU KNOW THAT CITY NOT WINNING IS KILLING ME ! SHE HAD A BET WITH ME THAT CITY WOULDNT WIN ANY OF THERE 1ST 10 GAMES AND THEREFOR I HAD TO DO THE HUSBANDLY DUTIES UPSTAIRS E...
Keep putting £20 on francis first goalscorer which has put me abit out of pocket but im sure it will come good.
 17.
Not sure if it was seen on TV, but I was at the game and he went over in the first half on his knee and he looked in alot of pain for the last 10-15 mins. But he basically had nothing to prove last n...
Yeah i saw the knock as i was about ten rows back and it didn''t look good, i think the tackle drew blood and after that he didn''t look like he was up for getting stuck into any tackles. Worthy probably should have taken him of, has there been any news on it since?
 18.
I believe one of our biggest issues to resolve is our central defence. We started the season well enough, and to their credit Flem and Charlton looked to have formed a decent partnership. However, ...
Totaly agree with this post, we keep blaming the strikers for not getting enough goals but if you take a look at everton and the amount of goals they have scored its about the same. have a look at their defence and you spot the difference we are conseeding far to many goals and most of the problem is height, its not just a case of winning the header like it was in the 1st division we need to get some sort of direction on the ball so we get it clear and not just to the opponants midfield or deffence so they can get the ball back into the danger area. until we do this we are going to continue to leak goals every game.
 19.
Not that many Canaries down here in the West Country, so it is nice to be able to converse with all you fellow yellows! PS:Anybody on this board from this neck of the woods? Fancy going to a game?
hi western, ive only just started to post on here but always kept an eye on it. i live in tiverton which is in devon about 20 miles north of exeter, dont get many chances to go to matches (man city mon is my first this season) but im always up for going to games if your in my area.
 20.
Yankee, I agree with GJ and nolegs in that this topic of yours is pointless. Who are you to judge other peoples opinions? Also peoples opinions change you know, its human nature. At the moment I a...
Totally agree with you stevenage fan, i live in devon so dont get much chance to go to games(man city away is my first this season) but that doesn''t make DD a better supporter than me. ive supported norwich all my life as has my father and grandfather. if anything the fact that i have lived in lots of different parts of the world and still support city just shows how much i love this football club. So dont judge us just cos we dont hold season tickets.
 21. Just wondering if the warm-up should be more strenious, every game this season seems to be the same story. slow start with lots of stray passes and the players look well off the pace and by the time we get going we are behind by a goal or two. time is running out and we need a win! looking forward to seeing my first game of the season tho at man city
 22.
I''ve got to agree with you KG. To keep us up a McKenzie/ Sven strike force would have to get a minimum of 15 goals between them. Sorry but that aint going to happen!
what about everton, dont think bent''s gonna get 15-20 goals this season. he''s only got a couple and everton are in third spot with a quarter of the season gone. if the strikers have good support eg.huckerby then why must the strikers score all the goals. we only need enough goals to stay up not win the league.
