1. I know we''re talking different leagues/levels, but does anyone else think there''s a link between Lambert''s style of play with Norwich, and Germany''s, which would come from his time playing in Germany? All the pundits are saying that 4-4-2 is so last century, with modern football played all over the place using a formation more like we did last season. Is Hoolahan our Ozil? Did we do to League 1 teams what Germany did to England? But more importantly, can we carry it on at the next level up?
 2.
Good article. It''s spooky that I was about to sit down and do the maths to work out the cost of each goal. I guesstimated £7,500 so not far out.Admittedly Peter Grant must carry the can for the ludicrous contract offered, and you can''t blame Cureton for signing on the dotted line, but he seems to be the only person in God''s great universe who thinks he still has something to offer apart from the ability to test the reflexes of the fans in rows X, Y and Z.
Technically, hasn''t Holt cost £20,000 per goal so far?
 3. Thoroughly enjoyed yesterday''s promotion party at Carrow Road even though the game was rubbish. Right up until they dusted off the already dated promotion CD from 2004 and played exactly the same cringeworthy mix of Status Quo, Queen and Tina Turner. Over and over again. And when the fans were trying to sing, they tried to drown us out with it. Please, please, PLEASE don''t play that CD again after Carlisle, just let the fans make the noise next time. I also think fans should be allowed to run on the pitch, as many other clubs do.

 5.
I know its been said before & feel he maybe out of our price range but could take a good look at Lewis!
I wondered about Lewis too. With such a large sell-on fee that we would obviously waive, Pboro could afford to let him go to us for less than anywhere else. I''d take him back.
 6. In general terms, promotion would increase the clubs revenue by about £5m, which is roughly the size of last year''s losses for the season. Assuming we''re on a sound footing, that suggests that keeping next year''s player budget at the same as this year''s would see us break even in the Championship. Without wishing to argue the exact numbers, the question is: would fans accept us keeping the same player budget next year, or would there be demands to ''push on'' and ''show ambition'' next season even if it meant increasing the debts?
 7.
Has anyone else noticed that the club has recently sold one of our better players and loaned him back? A sad situation indeed, made worse by the fact the Shackell money, along with all the other money we have recieved through transfers, yet again disappears into thin air. Oh the joys of supporting a club with absolutley no ambition! I think we will go down this season and it will be truly deserved.
Yes, I expect most people noticed that we had taken Shackell on loan. It''s interesting that you think the money has disappeared ''into thin air''. So many people direct all their frustration at the board, and very little at the players. No one thinks that players getting ten times the average wage even in the Championship is obscene. But many people think that the fact Delia won''t empty her bank account to pay for it is a lack of ambition. The fact is, the players we have are costing a wage bill of 8.5m this season, against a net income of 5m. So how do the board ''show ambition'' without taking the club further into debt? For my part, I think that players need to take a steer from the wider economy. If they were all paid half what they are now they sould still be comparatively wealthy... but clubs generally - and ours specifically - wouldn''t operate at such a loss. So the money hasn''t ''disappeared'' - its gone into the players'' pockets!
 8.
Right players for us right now - Huckerby, and a decent CB and centre forward please!
I think Hucks has quoshed any suggestion of him coming back, unfortunately. Agree that we need one more CB and one more forward, providing we don''t lose anyone.
 9. I thought this was interesting: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/jan/19/middlesbrough-gareth-southgate because it just shows how things are the same all over the country. I bet the Boro fans are saying similar things to us at times. I don''t fancy their chances of staying up... but then there are loads of clubs hovering near the bottom, it''s a bit of a lottery.
 10. Doncaster is nearly always in that exact same place, before every match, chatting to fans passing by. For obvious reasons there were more fans than usual talking to him yesterday. Remarkably, whilst the average age of the protesting ''mob'' on Tuesday night was probably under 20, the couple of dozen fans chatting to Neil on Sat were mostly over 50.
 11.
Yep I can quite believe Aidy''s been given the job providing he agreed to deny that he had been approached by Norwich ! Job done and an excellent cover for a short list that doesn''t exist !!! Oh, how sceptical I have become.[;)]
It''s quite easy to imagine Bothroyd saying to friends "that job''s mine". It could mean ''I''ve been offered the job'' or it could mean ''that job''s got my name written all over it'' or it could mean ''I''m after that job''. Take any of those meanings and put it in the hands of a NotW reporter and what do you have?

 13.

Todays news of the world. Former Watford boss lined up to take Carrow Road hotseat AIDY BOOTHROYD - target By AIDAN MAGEE, 17/01/2009 AIDY BOOTHROYD will this week be appointed new manager of Norwich. The ex-Watford boss has told friends the job is his after Northern Ireland chief Nigel Worthington turned down the chance to return to Carrow Road. Boothroyd (below), 37, has been out of the game since being sacked by the Hornets in November. He is now the Canaries top choice to take over from Glenn Roeder and plans to raid his old club for assistant Malky Mackay. The Scot helped guide Norwich to promotion to the Premier League as a player five years ago. Roeder was sacked last week after three wins in 15 and losing 1-0 at home to Charlton in the FA Cup.
Poor old Doncaster!  It sort of buggers his carefully crafted shortlist doesn''t it? Plus Munby''s call to Ireland. Makes you wonder who is running the shop.[:|]
Rule number one: NEVER believe anything you read in the News Of The World, and certainly don''t use it as a stick to beat the club with!
