  1. Please please spare us a summer break of speculation and trivia; do we really care about Gunn''s thoughts on his players or that Fotheringham might be going to Spain??? A significant number of us don''t think Gunn should be manager so don''t rub salt in the wounds by allowing him to fill pages of newsprint expounding the virtues and potential generosity of the board in fully supporting his team building plans. We''ve heard it all before and have had enough. Until we make concrete signings or sell players just spare us the rubbish. If you''re short of column coverage give the fans a voice and we''ll continue to try and explain the rudiments of running a football club to Delia, prudence and her puppets.
  2. Getting towards the end of May and Delia still has my rebate to fritter away! Lets get the letters out Delia, Prudence, Michael & Bryan, because its the only way I can make any sort of protest about the fact you''re all still at the club, you appear to be getting away with steering our club towards even more misery, doom and gloom, and absolutely nothing has changed. I really hope fellow fans will ignore your begging letter when it arrives, and retain their rebate in protest at your total and utter incompetence over the past four years. You may think the anger and hurt has gone away, but your every move and decision will be scrutinised by every fan, and if (as it will undoubtedly will whilst you remain at the club) the downward spiral continues do not expect sympathy and patience; you will have cocked it up one too many times and any patience has long since run out.
  3. Boothroyd was asked who the biggest Championship under performer was this season in his opinion and the answer? NCFC of course! He suggested that a club with 25,000 fans on a good day and large catchment area should be doing so much better, nad needed to get their house in order pronto. Not telling us anything new of course, but was spot on. Whilst dopey Delia and her puppet are in place we have no chance of reversing the current spiral towards obscurity. Never mind, there are plenty of fans who think it will all be OK in the end, so carry on dreamiong and doing nothing!
  4. Great letter in the EDP today re Prudence Smith & Gunny Muppet and the demise we find ourselves in; well worth a read!
  5. Its only been three weeks since relegation to the third tier of English football, and it looks as though the anger and disbelief has been replaced with quiet resignation and acceptance that we really are powerless to change anything, either now, or in the future. Delia has won, she is untouchable, and we have to accept whatever comes our way or whatever happens to our beloved NCFC. Sorry to sound so defeatist and negative, particularly after all my recent rantings on this forum. However I have to accept that there is absolutely no way that even our large fan base is going to influence the devious Delia, and ambition has no part to play in the future of this club. Just give me back my season ticket rebate, I''ll come and endure the games next season when I can because its great to have a bit of crack with fellow fans, and I''ll reluctantly witness the continued slide of our once great club with Delia and her puppet Gunny at the helm. OTBC!
  6. Looking forward to see what the calibre of players will be coming into the club during the closed season. Anyone care to predict who they will be or what the final transfer budget will be? Lets hope its better than expected!!!
  7. Looking forward to see what the calibre of players will be coming into the club during the closed season. Anyone care to predict who they will be or what the final transfer budget will be?
  8. Good luck to young Danny Kelly; he must be chuffed to get a professional contract. However this will be the extent of the board''s ambitions for the foreseeable future. Remember the club''s mantra, ''Prudence with no ambition''.....
  9. Good to see Gunny reflecting the board''s official line; should keep him in a job for many months yet!! Delia must be delighted with her ''yes man'', and we can look forward to more prudence with no ambition. Unless you''re member of the official NCFC ostrich division the future is bleak. How amazing that Delia and Co'' have actually got away with their four years of gross incompetence in guiding this club from the Premiership to the 3rd Division; is it a Norfolk thing??
  10. Did we really need a farewell column from the man who has to take great responsibility for guiding our club to the brink of obscurity, and helped to make us a laughing stock!! No hint of an apology for being totally incompetent for the past how many years; in other other business he would have been exposed and sacked long ago. What a shame that Prudence and Wynn - Jones haven''t gone with him. Typically the EDP will no doubt line up another club board member to fill column space; heres an idea....instead of printing the drivel that is the official club line give a regular column to the real fans to express their opinions. I guarantee this would be popular with the readers and expose the real issues that need addressing.
  11. Nothing at all in it for me; just seems to be the only local reporter who addresses the real issues and isn''t afraid of offending the Norwich board. I''m guess I''m also very low at the club''s current demise for which the responsibility squarely lies with the current board, and those fans who year after year just accept mediocrity without a whimper. Its unthinkable that the mistakes of the past four years will be repeated at a lower tier of football, leading to further demotion and erosion of the club and what it used to stand for. We''re all entitled to an opinion, and I''m expressing mine on this site. Those that don''t agree are obviously entitled to do so, but Norwich has a board of amateurs who appear untouchable. How long before people wake up to the fact that we actually need radical change, and not the so called ''safe'' policy of prudence with no ambition. Great if Gunny proves people like myself totally wrong, and I will be the first to admit my misjudgement of the situation, but I firmly believe the opposite will be the case, and the evidence will be available before Christmas this year. Have a nice day.
  12. Glad to see my recent posting congratulating Richard Balls on his honest and forthright appraisal of the current NCFC debacle has been read by so many fellow posters. Less than pleased that only a short time after relegation the totally inadequate and clueless Delia & Wynn Jones are still in post and making major decisions, namely the inappropriate appointment of Bryan Gunn. So do we (and by we I mean a large number of fans who only see a bleak future if the cuddly touchy feely management team remain) take this without a whimper, or can we form a new supporters group who are prepared to speak their minds and hopefully bring pressure to bear that will lead to the sort of changes at management level that is so desperately needed? Richard Balls understands and knows football inside out, and if he was to set up such a supporters group I would be there like a shot. With the greatest of respect I don''t think NCISA are going to achieve anything despite the recent lively meeting; their time has come and gone, and they should and have been far more influential over the past four years, if they had had the bottle and determination to act when all fans could see that the club were on a downward spiral. The time has come for a constructive, honest, and determined campaign to change the dithering management team that blunders from one crisis to another, to be replaced with an ambitious and knowledgeable team who appreciate that the fans are the heart of the club, and deserve far better than the dross served up over the past four years. If you read this Richard then lets get an organising committee together and give the fans the voice they deserve; it can and should be done!
  13. Reading today''s EDP its obvious that Chris Lakey, Adam Aiken and the rest of the pro Delia & Gunny brigade have opted for the soft and safer option of ever so gently rebuking the board for our current sad demise but at the same time trotting out the same old rubbish about giving them a chance and hoping everything will be hunk - dory in the end. Even when they do pencil a luke warm criticism of the board there is always a comment in brackets to appease the subject of the article, or to put a positive slant on things. Please please put Richard Balls in charge of both the EDP & Evening news football columns; at least he has the bottle to say what the majority of fans are thinking, and doesn''t mind ruffling a few of Delia''s feathers. Personally hearing Gunn run on about not letting players go on the cheap and players currently being checked over with a view to signing smacks of the spin we all suffered under Grant and Roeder, its all very very familiar, and as exciting as watching paint dry. Do us all a favour, until you have something concrete to report forget all the speculation that we normally have to suffer post and pre season, and concentrate instead on what has gone wrong with the club, and how we the fans would like it put right.
  14. Excellent post - too many creeps supporting Delia and her adopted son - happy to settle for zero ambition and a life of mediocrity. I repeat from earlier posts, Delia and co really are the untouchables!
  15. After today''s shocking appointment of Gunn I would like my season ticket rebate back asap, and I don''t expect to have to write a letter claiming it back! The rebate should be sent automatically back to those entitled to it. I am keen that Delia and co don''t fritter even more fan''s money away, including my own.
  16. Excellent post - what a sad day for the club; the board even minus Doomcaster still beggars belief. Where will it all end? Probably the conference; can it get any worse?

  18. Just wondered if NCISA fully endorsed Gunn''s appointment, or are they going to make strong representations to the board about the lack of consultation with fans?
  19. Archant will be pleased to return to their normal non - confrontational reporting style, and enjoy many more months cosying up to Delia and her adopted son Bryan.
  20. Just witnessed Delia & Michael''s interview on local news and one word sums it up....''PATHETIC''. ''What are your reasons for appointing Bryan Gunn as permanent manager of NCFC?'' Delia (the gist at least): ''Well....you know....we had a chat with Bryan and his team and liked some of their ideas. They came in at the tale end of things last season, and its only fair they have a chance to try again.'' Michael: ''The last thing we need at this time is a revolving door of people coming and going''. They both looked and sounded totally out of touch with the situation, and couldn''t even respond honestly and fluently to a simple but crucial question. The fact is they were absolutely clueless, and continue to grasp at straws. Their body language was negative, there was no sense of being upbeat and looking forward with optimism, just a very frightened and clueless pair of ''hasbeens''. There was no acknowledgement of their part in the NCFC demise, and no sense of ambition for the future. Make no mistake, this club is now totally rudderless, with a clueless frightened board, and equally clueless and inexperienced management team. The clowns that still insist on ''giving them a chance'' must take considerable responsibility for today''s announcement, which has set the club back even further, and makes a rapid return to the Championship almost impossible. I would like to be proven wrong, but am realistic enough to know that whilst the current board and manager remains in place, the only way is down. Talk about a missed opportunity!
  21. Perhaps Prudence Smith anticipated a massive ''NO'' to Gunn''s appointment as manager following the NCISA meeting on Thursday evening, and decided to rush the appointment through before the majority view could be heard. It is quite clear that Delia and what remains of the board have no respect for the fans or their feelings, and have again gone for the easy and least expensive option. Their actions in appointing Gunn have consigned this club to the lower league for years to come, and clearly signals that ambition has died. The future is very bleak, except for those idiots living with the fairies who worship Delia and applaud her appointment of the dynamic Gunn, who has just led us into League 1, admittedly with a little help from his predecessors. RIP NCFC.
  22. You would think that Delia and her remaining cronies would have had enough nouse and respect for the fans to take every opportunity to secure their views on whether Gunn should continue as manager, before making another hasty and ill - advised appointment. This single action confirms that nothing has changed at the club; we will continue to have prudence with no ambition, and the slide towards League Two and obscurity continues. What a missed opportunity, especially when several polls show clearly that Gunn is not the fan''s choice.
  23. Now that some of the deadwood has been removed it is essential that a new manager is appointed other than Bryan Gunn, as a clear signal that Delia and co are serious about a new era of ambition and moving the club forward. If Gunny and his coaching staff are given a further one year contract then it is a clear signal that nothing has really changed and Delia intends continuing the cosy little prudent style without ambition that has been her trademark for the past four seasons. This is a time for courageous and ambitious actions, and a newly appointed charismatic manager with a hunger for success will send a clear and positive signal that at last the club means business. I will willingly waive my rights to a season ticket rebate if this is way forward adopted by what remains of the board, and many more would also I''m sure.
  24. Glad to see Marshall on his way; cost us quite a few points during the season and didn''t ever live up to expectations. Hopefully quite a few more will follow, and any transfer money reinvested in permanent signings of players committed to the club and ambitious to get to the Championship and ultimately the Premiership (no harm in dreaming). Rather worryingly it looks as if a few major decisions are already being made, and if our excuse for a board is still pulling the strings then even more damage could be done in what is already a desperate situation for NCFC. When will we the fans be receiving some honest feedback on what is happening and what future plans are being made by a board that have already been exposed as totally incompetent? Surely they should have stood down by now, and appointed a manager to replace the affable but ineffective Gunn? The board have learnt nothing, and remain determined to keep fans in the dark; same old spin, same outcome. What a bleak outlook.
