  1. Chris Martin is streets ahead of Jamie Cureton on present form and should start against MK Dons, and then be given a decent run to establish himself. I don''t think he''ll let anyone down and could go on to form a prolific goal scoring partnership with Holt.
  2. Chris Martin played well midweek and scored a cracking goal. He should have started ahead of both Cureton and Cody and partnered Grant Holt up front. It is very worrying that Paul Lambert can''t see that Cureton is past it, and shouldn''t even be on the subs bench. For goodness sake give Martin an extended run in the team, and he will score goals from Holt''s flick - ons and his own pace. I think he would have had a field day today against Warsall''s cumbersome central defenders. OTBC
  3. True... must be difficult watching your team win 2-1...[:D]
  4. Welcome to NCFC Mr. Lambert... if you didn''t realise the extent of your task on a sunny Saturday afternoon as your hardworking, commited and imaginative team took us to pieces two weeks ago I''m sure a Tuesday night in Brentford has made you realise a few things...
  5. I really hope Lambert is sitting and watiching Gill thinking ''thats an obvious change to make''... The guy is the new Andy Hughes!
  6. Cannot believe Gill has started AGAIN after his non-descript display at Exeter... how is he doing?

  8. Got back from the game today as me and some mates stayed in Exeter last night so just thought I''d some points and ratings... Alnwick - 7 - Solid display... needs to be kept for the season I believe... great kicking and claimed the ball well. Spillane - 6 - A reasonable game and did little wrong, perhaps we missed the pace of Semi in attacking situations but did well and deserves to keep his place. Doc - 7 - Did well... should have scored in the first half with a header. Still has his hands all over the player he marks when attempting to head the ball and gives away needless freekicks in dangerous positions but nothing new there! Askou - 8 - Looks a class act, a good goal and won the ball consistantly... looks like he could play at a higher level. Drury - 6 - Did nothing wrong... some good tackles, distribution poor at times, little attacking threat but not helped with Hoolahan''s ''drifting'' all over the place! Whaley - 6 - Not really sure about this guy so far... cracking shot that came off the bar but did little else... Does this guy have any ''genuine pace as Hanson would call it? Because I would love him to take on the full back a few times in the game! Adeyemi - 6 - Worked hard, I agree he did look a bit jaded but the potential is clear to see... needs helping through the game at the moment by whoever plays in the middle with him. Gill - 5 - This guy I am the least impressed with out of all the new signings. He never seems to want the ball, could have had it several times of Alnwick in the 2nd half quickly but just ran away from the goal... Floats around the pitch, doesn''t get stuck in, passes only sideways or backwards. Not even a poor man''s David Batty... more like a tramps! Hoolahan - 7 - Very creative but held on to the ball for too long at times. Holt - 7 - Worked hard... was feeding on scraps for most of the game and had to go hunting for the ball a lot which meant he wasn''t where he needed to be at times. McDonald - 5 - Did very little but like Holt didn''t have much to work with! Subs - Not long enough to fully assess... Things needed to be freshened up much earlier! Some general thoughts: 1) City looked good until Exeter scored... then there was only one team in it... On this performance look forward to another trip to the Grecians next year! 2) No one in the team gets ''stuck in'' I thought the same against Colchester, this is League One remember boys?! 3) Central midfield needs sorting, Adeyemi is a real prospect but Gill shouldn''t have made the journey back up the M4 and 5. 4) Exeter is a good night out... but a hell of a long trip![S]
  9. And it must have been tough doing that job on whatever his wages were... and the pay-off he will have accepted for his contract being terminated... my heart bleeds for him.
  10. If Gunny and the board care about the fans and want to show they really are ambitious this season then issue a ''hands off'' warning to other clubs and state clearly that Hoolahan is not for sale. Anyone who watched the Wigan game can see he is a class player and vital to this campaign. Lets not go down the ''Prudence without Ambition'' route again, please!!!
  11. Got the tickets! And they do defo drink ''Cyder'' in Devon... my mate is a Grecian and tells me a regular chant is ''Drink up thy Cider''...
  12. Cheers for the feedback everyone (minus Big Dog) I must admit I must sound incredibly naive having to ask but I just had a feeling I would need membership numbers possibly. I have tried to get tickets through Exeter FC (I wasn''t planning on wearing colours and thought about going in with the locals anyway) And that has been a dead end. ALL Exeter fans have to buy a ticket and it is strictly one ticket per person which is purchased with a number so the away end is the only hope now! Fingers crossed for all aspects of the seaon ahead!
  13. Afternoon all... Me and three mates want to go to Exeter away on the 15th for a bit of a roadtrip and a weekend of ''cyder''... I have never been to an away game however and was wonering if I just ring up the ticket office and order the tickets and if so do I need anything like season ticket numbers etc?
  14. I reckon I might be able to get a trial at NCFC at the moment, and possible my Mum as well!
  15. I have it on totally reliable authority that Theo was injured when he signed and has an on going leg injury. This is fact not fiction.
  16. He was signed WITH an injury; that comes from a source within the club, and I have no reason to disbelieve.
  17. Thinking of you and your family John, as will many other fans be doing.
  18. Now this is only my humble opinion but is there just a hint of desperation in Gunny''s transfer activity, and have things really got so desperate that we have to offer trials to third rate players who most clubs wouldn''t touch with the proverbial barge pole? The season ticket rebate money has been swallowed up in player wages despite most fans believing it was to be used only for new transfer activity, providing another good example of the cynical and devious strategies employed by the club to raise yet more funds to be frittered away in the pursuit of Delia''s infamous ''prudence without ambition'' policy. Before Delia''s cronies and creeps start waxing lyrical about unearthing a gem from this ragbag of injury prone hasbeens and misfits, just ask yourself the question why are other clubs in Divisions 3 & 4 not rushing to sign them? And whilst you ponder this consider whether long suffering fans will give Gunny beyond November 2009 IF the team are not playing consistently well and maintaining a play - off or automatic promotion spot? Lets hope that those in the know on this website are correct in their predictions that some recognised names are due to arrive at Carrow Road in the near future; what do you think?
  19. Must improve my spelling!! Who said anything about hating anyone USAcanary??
  20. I do appreciate the club is being run on a shoestring but lets hope that when the anticpated forwards arrive they have some quality and because of this commanded some sort of transfer fee! This doesn''t guarantee quality but might assure those fans remembering the suffering of the past four years that there will be some ambition alongside the prudence!!
  21. Norwich City fans will expect positive results from Day 1 of the new season, and this includes all the pre season friendlies. Delia, Gunny and the rest of the management can expect heavy and sustained criticism if this proves not to be the case; there is no honeymoon period so lets hope they deliver.
  22. Excellent post Barclay Boy - at last some realism which is like a breath of fresh air after reading the unrealistic twoddle of the pro Delia/Gunn brigade. Its absolutely staggering how quickly these ostriches have forgiven the failaures and mismanagement of the past four years and actually think the boards pathetic dealings in the transfer market signal the rebirth of our beloved club. Delia must be over the moon!
  23. A word to the wise re recent transfer activity and spending...if you pay peanuts you get monkeys, even at Division 3 level.
  24. You''re spot on lads - no more whinging from me and from now on I''ll follow your lead and accept what comes our way. On the ball city!!
  25. Delia & Michael have assembled a totally underwhelming array of directors and at the same time assured their relationship with Archant continues to be very cosy. These two really are very clever. In a few short weeks they have brushed four years of failure and mismanagement under the carpet, convinced some very fickle and easily pleased fans that things are suddenly going to be much much better, and spent peanuts on a motley crew of ''new'' players. Are we heading for the promised land? No.
