1.
A really well thought through transaction!! That''s one less player the new manager can sign on loan then!!!! Whatever is going on at this club???
This is a really good point. Unless of course the new manager has just signed him.
2. Coelho - pardon me for asking, but what is your connection to ND that he would discuss something as important as this with you? I''m not being facetious, im genuinely interested.
3. GPB wrote :- 4. Peter said to me that "the men in White coats would carry him away before he invested in football". We will see. Assuming Mr Beard is genuine (and I mean absolutely NO offence in that comment whatsoever, Graham - I happen to believe you are) surely this is is categorical enough to make the ''lets talk up a fictitous sugardaddy'' brigade have some clarity of thought? Total, unfounded, deluded, spaced-out wishful thinking uber-speculation of the highest order is all this story has ever amounted to. Sadly there is not one shred of evidence to suggest he is anything other than an (albeit extremely wealthy) armchair fan. I think we should all get over it and move on.
4. I don''t reckon we''ve got a cat in hells chance of tempting Jewell. Even less of getting Boothroyd. The people who are suggesting we will are the same ones who were predicting promotion at the start of season. Jewell had loads of cash at Wigan, Boothroyd is top of the league. I think those facts speak for themselves.
5. I agree with Fuzzyfelt. I reckon it''s very likely to be Duffy. We may well get a surprise though - how many of us saw Grant coming after we sacked Worthington?
6. Should PG get the old heave ho, I can certainly see Duffy getting the nod.
7. Same old rubbish. I wish I had even half an argument to take umbridge with that assertion, but i haven''t. We really are a sorry, sorry football club at the moment. God how depressing.   And how many of us can see us losing this 1-0?
8. I quote from Old Salt:- I was with my brother-in-law, a passionate Arsenal supporter from North London, and at half time we were losing 2-0. My brother-in-law was being duly magnaminous during the half-time break and I was feeling pretty low and apprehensive about the 2nd half. Norwich came out a different team, Ruel Fox had an absolute belter and unbelievably we went 4-0 up   Old Salt, now, I know Walker could motivate, but 2-0 down to 4-0 up? That is the MOTHER of all comebacks!
9. Of course, it may well be that there is no mystery investor with a shed load of cash who is going to charge in and bale us out. And that this could all just be message board gossip. Lets not get too disappointed if we dont get rescued by a multi-millionaire Norwich fan everyone. Just a  thought.
10. Disagree. I think our squad has been watered down with the acquisition of mediocre players bought in off the back of the sale of  decent players (Green, Etuhu,Earnie, McKenzie, Safri...) who WOULD have walked into other Championship sides. Sorry, but I cant seriously believe that other managers in this division are casting an envious eye over the likes of Brown, Lappin and Russell...
11.
So We8wba - have you in all your time supporting your club never questioned anything that went on? I don''t know you so I will have to generalise on Wolves fans en masse. Does the phrase (and banner) YOU HAVE LET US DOWN AGAIN mean anything to you? I have been to Molineaux and heard your team being booed off the pitch. It happens at all clubs, we are not unique. We are not playing well, so there are boos. Some of us boo, some of us don''t. With the greatest respect, please try to understand that we are not happy with our club at the moment and sometimes frustration leads to booing the players.
Very tactfully put Gazza. Again, with the greatest respect We8wba, your post did come across more than a little holier than thou and was, I felt,  rather ''preachy'' in tone. Can you honestly say that were Wolves in a similar situation that they would have have the full backing of a Molineux crowd?
12. Team depth? Could be. Trouble is, there are just so many things not right about this Norwich team at the moment, its hard to sort the wheat from the chaff. Against SW, I dont think I saw Otsemobor or Lappin compete for one 50 / 50 ball, Spillane and Jarvis don''t appeat to have that intrinsic ability to take on and beat a man, Drury looks a shadow of the player we once knew... Like I say, it could be the team depth. Trouble is, when push comes to shove, I just dont think this current team have the wit or the wisdom to take a game by the scruff of the neck and influence it in a positive way. We need a leader at the back. We need creative midfielders. Quite honestly, i think we need a freaking miracle at the moment.
13. After a cursory scan of both squads, my initial reaction was that the Class of  03 / 04 had the edge, and by some distance. Further inspection only confirmed my first impressions. The current crop aren''t a patch on the Iwan / Malky era  IMHO.
14. Astonishing. I''m not a huge fan of the loan system anyway, for the very reason that it seems a very expensive way of ''papering over the cracks'' in the playing department, with no real solution at the end of a 3 / 6 month period...but seeing these figures bandied about for a LOAN deal is just astounding. I just hope to god that our precious academy gives us a nugget or two (one would be a start) in the not too distant future, because this seems to me to be just about the only way we are going to have any type of assets in the squad any time soon. On that note - who has seen the academy play lately? Please tell me we''ve got a precocious talent or two to hint upon a rosy future...?!
15. ''our support was good from the start which considering what we went through on tues (much like your own performance sat) continued to support our team and our manager who had been under fire''   Some fair points we8wba, but would that support have been great from the start had you been getting caned from the start - as we were? Had you had one shot on target all game? We haven''t just been suffering from poor results this season - its the level of performance, game after game, the complete lack of any kind of  competitive edge that has Norwich fans scared witless. Good luck for the rest of the season.
16. Re - the Jarrolds stand overspend, the fans perception of a £6m pricetag -  "After the fit-out of the stand, the total cost was £9m" - what EXACTLY are the board and Doncaster trying to say here? Werent we told by the board that it would cost £6m? - thats not the perception of the fans, its taking at face value what the people running the club were telling us at the time. And if the original quote was for £6m and we ended up spending an extra £3m - something I find utterly astonishing - as a result of ''fitting-out'' the stand, well.......I feel more confused now than before Doncaster spilt the beans! And as for being only an extra £500k better off after a season in the Premier League, what of all this talk by Doncaster of chasing the ''Pot of Gold'' that promotion offered?? For the record, I do trust  Delia / Michael et al, and believe they are doing the best for Norwich City Football Club. But someone on the board should have a quiet word with Carters, and point out the massive overspend on the Jarrold Stand before we even consider giving them the contract to build the mystical 2nd tier on the City Stand. And although it is laudable of the club to get Mr Doncaster to make regular statements about issues such as this, should we really be made to feel eternally grateful that the club chooses to do so? Surely other clubs have a similar type of dialogue with their fans - and are they told that they should feel so very lucky too?
17. I do find this quote a little unnerving, I have to say.
18. Wiz, I fear that if Worthy doesn''t stop infecting your psyche every waking hour, EVERYONE you come across will have a serious grey short-back-and-sides and ruddy complexion. Imagine having to kiss Mrs Wiz goodnight then??
19. Really interesting post Monty. Well worth debating - all I can say is that whenever -  and when I say whenever I mean it WITHOUT exception - whenever I have seen Norwich play this season I have been utterly unconvinced by the manner in which we have performed. I''ve seen us get spanked 3-0 by Preston, and by god did we get what we deserved that day. I''ve also seen us beat Brighton 3-0, a result I''m afraid to say (and I hope i''m not alone in this respect) I had little enthusiasm for, purely for the shockingly poor nature of the display. Opposing managers always seem to think they are hard done by whenever we get a result against them - opinions borne out (in the most) by the national press reporters. Of course, Worthy fans will say that results are everything, that is their prerogative, and to some degree this is true. I''m just waiting to read a match report that raves about our technique being superior to the opposition, or maybe our youngsters showing the future is bright. Thats when i''ll start getting excited again - not these ''papering over the cracks'' wins, but the kind of stuff that suggests we have a decent academy and a coaching staff that can get the players to form in a cohesive, creative manner. Suffice to say, I haven''t seen one of these reports in what seems like donkeys years - and thats what really concerns me. In answer to your question - Lucky wins.
20. Hmmmmmmm. The words Jurgen, Colin and Mk2 spring to mind. I''m not keen on another foriegn import, to be honest.
21. Nope. They are dismal. Astonishingly poor in fact. And with the Premiership money drying up, just where the hell are the funds going to come from to replace them? I just have a horrible, horrible feeling about where this club is going. If you think the last two years have been bad, you ''aint seen nothing yet.
22. Couldn''t agree more - can''t imagine any circumstance where booing a Norwich City team is justified, let alone after just a couple of ropey results at the start of the season. However, some fans will always boo their own team if things aren''t going swimmingly out there on the pitch. EVERY club has a section of "boo boys" - some bigger than others - whose frustration will manifest by way of booing at the final whistle. It''s just par for the course in football. Hucks (God that the man is) shouldn''t really dignify the booing with a response, as this only fans the flames of the "i''ve paid my money and i''ll make my voice heard" supporter who chooses to make his feelings known in this manner. Incidentally, I went to the Coventry game (but not the Crewe) and have to say that, along with other forum members who have posted on this thread, didn''t hear any noticeable booing at any time either during or after the game.
