  1. AGE: 39ish JOB: Bosun on an anchor handling ship in Trinidad but soon to be Guinne Bissau. FAN: Season Ticket Holder Why the pain, heart break, with occasional bouts of joy?:  Live in Sunny Gorleston and radically didn''t fancy growing up a Man United Fan. Interesting fact: Llamas are bigger than frogs ........................................................................................................................................................................ Thats No Lady, Thats My Wife.....
  2. I live/work 9 months of the year in Trinidad, but daren''t give up my season ticket with the current ground capacity, and lack of spare tickets available. Having to listen to Roy Waller on haystack radio instead would be a poor substitute. My mates little girl usues it when i''m away, so well worth the money. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thats no lady, thats my wife.............!
  3. Never a Worthy Outer until today. I put last season down to the usual reasons. Injuries, relegated teams don''t go up ect. But, as from today, i can''t honestly see the club going forward with the present management. I know this is old hat for Worthy Outers of two seasons, and al5though i didn''t agree with a lot of the goings on before, i was prepared to give the club the benefit of the doubt. I don''t think he will be there by the Burnley game, and if he is, it will show just how much ambition the board has.. For some reason, i don''t think Delia will be swanning round the barclay bar, as she was during the Barnsley game. I remember this from the real bad ol'' days, "for the good of the club, please go now". CHASE OUT! (sorry Worthy Out!)
  4. I can announce that an amnesty has been reached, and that the subject of my, "treachery on her special day", will not be mentioned again. Well at least until next year!
  5. Oh, and as for Hucks legs, she used to like the gargoil we called green. I stall have to put up with comments like, "ooh their shirts match the nets", and the classic, "why are they singing ''Warburtons groody grarmy" (worthyingtons green and yella army). i rest my case.
  6. Converting her?!???! The only game I managed to con/ get her to go to, was the 4-4 draw with Midlesborough and she was bored! So, as you can see, mine cause.
  7. Cheers for the vote of confidance Mystic!! I was hoping for a few sympathetic replies to bring her round a bit, but so far to no avail. Looks like years of pennance. Strange about Man city though, i think we''ve only beaten them a couple of times since.
  8. [6] Well, after listening to years of grief, and in celebration today of my ninth wedding Anniversary, I thought it was about time to come clean and perhaps find some closure on a situation that I have to admit I brought on myself. As I said, nine years ago today, I stood at the alter with.......................................an ear piece in, listening to the Man. City v Norwich game, of which we eventually went on to win 2-1. First win up there in 25 years I believe.   Yes, that little radio, the size of a 50 pence piece lasted all the way  through the service, and the drive to the reception. Even the chance of a ride in a 150 grand Bentley Turbo to the Hotel was unappealing in comparison to a away day win (very rare these days!). Unfortunately, it was at this point my trailing wire was discovered and the game was up. If this wasn''t enough, during the speeches, I was so excited about our emphatic win, I  announced the final result and forgot to thank the wife!  So, what I''d like to here from you guys is, A, do I deserve to be forgiven after so many years of ear ache? And B, how far have you gone to either listen to the game, or done something you later regretted in the name of all things yellow? P.s Also sacked the window cleaner because he wore an Ipswich hat. Don''t regret this, as he wasn''t any good and was probably casing the joint (allegedly!) -------------------------------------------------------- CHASE OUT!!
  9. 1.  The obvious Ipsh!t Town 2-10. Wolves, Leeds, Palace, and all the other odious, sanctimoniouse, and down right, "We''re bigger, better, older with more history, and more trophey clubs that think they have the god given right to be in the Prem.", clubs. Sorry for the rant, but i''m p!ssed off this morning!   Chase Out!
  10. Cliff park High School, Gorleston.         1980 - 1985. Current Occupation, Merchant Seaman working in Trinidad, but soon to be back in Jolly ol'' Angola..... At least i don''t seem to be the oldest on here!
  11. So those who claim Hunter is the basis for our recent success, blame Worthy for the defeats? 1 bad result  and performance in 6, and all of a sudden it''s doom and gloom. GET OVER IT! Must agree though, if we are to make anything out of this season, we have to bolster the side with loans, then splash some serious  cash in January, or we really will be dooomed!
  12. So early to say, where we''ll finish up, espesially with the size of the current squad. As said previously on the board, for the club to put all of their eggs in one basket on a relative unknown, knowing full well that other positions need cover and strengthening was pure madness. Thats why, i''ve got this nagging feeling that it was just a smoke screen, in order to bring loan signings in with a view to buy, ala Hucks. As i understand, there is a weeks grace between the end of the tranfer window, and when loan deals can be completed. ( i may be wrong). This would give the oppotunity for clubs to loan out players that perhaps find themselves out on a limb due to replacements brought in ect. I hope this isn''t naivly looking through rose tinted specs, but as i say, surely the club couldn''t be so daft.............?? As for the final position, well. With the quality of football we''re playing at present, with a few additions, i find it hard to believe that many teams will be too much of a problem for us. So i''d say top 3. No, or poor loan signings, Dury, Robinson,  + supended. Injuries to Earnie, Shackle +, and i think we''d struggle to make 7th or 8th. I think the next week will be a big indication of how things will go in the short term. Two away games, and a biggy against Palace, so a couple of big quality loans before then would do us nicely. After all we''ve got 2 mill to spend (alledgedly)!!
  13. Last minute move to palace a 3 year deal. 2.5 mil.
  14. [8]We love you Paul McViegh![8] As for little Earn, well i''m a heady 5''6", and when stood next to him, i''m a giant amongst men!! .............................................................................................................................................................................. Lets all av'' a disco....
  15. Looking down the posts, a few seem to look back on the years running up, and including the European season. I don’t think we’ve matched this level of quality since, personally, I think the home leg against Vitesse Arnham (excuse the spelling), epitomised . Quality of  football, passing and awareness  at that time was awesome. However, at times on Saturday, it was like a blast from the past, which all being well, if we manage to keep the side free from injuries, plus a couple of quality last minute buys, will only improve.   Saturday was the first of the season for me due to working away, and although reading match reports that stated how much the side had improved, I couldn’t  believe how basically the same team could change there style, attitude and fitness so drastically. Pleased to be proved wrong by one of the players, and chuffed to see Colin and Robinson doing what I expected they were capable of. Here’s to the rest of the season, enjoy.
  16. I cant wait. Same every season though. I know we were pants last year, but we''ve been worse, (but only just). Still by the time the season comes round again, i think most people regardless of what they say, are the same. Otherwise, there wouldn''t be 25,000 every week. According to the missus, mine hasn''t arrived yet, and i''m gonna miss the first 4 games, but should be home for about 6. I don''t know, funny feeling about next year.  Perhaps having to use the youngsters more than expected, due to lack of new faces and then finding them shine. Lunch in Nandoes, Pre and post match pint(s), afternoon of football, stagger home about 10.00. Who couldn''t look forward to next season?!
  17. As you can imagin, the whole of the world cup squad is pretty much hero worshiped out here, with every move they make reported in the press. They do tend to get carried away though, and some players of  average quality, have been supposedly linked with top Seria A clubs. Fingers crossed, i suppose something will happen sooner or later.
  18. Just herd on the radio out here, that, "T+T world cup star is in talks with the fellow English Championship side, after the club''s interest had continued from last season; and after his World Cup performances, he is going to be hot property". Unfortunately, i missed the begining of the news, so don''t know if they were talking about Norwich, or another club. Just wondering if there was any news back home as trying to wait for sites to load on this 28kbt modem is like waiting for a Worthy signing. Slow, and may never materialise! "Workrate" + "Taking Positives" = EXCUSES
  19. To be honest mate, i think you''ve summed up the way the majority of all Norwich fans feel. Even the most die hard of KTF''ers have no doubt at some point this season, thought, Just where the hell are we going., myself included. At times, the quality of football has been at it''s lowest iv''e seen in many a year, and the confidance of players was obvious for all to see, rock bottom. It''s difficult to put a finger on exactly where things have gone wrong, and yes new players haven''t bedded in as quickly as hoped and  injuries have played a big part, forcing players to be played out of position. However, this does not excuse some of the baffeling tactical descisions and excuses from both Manager and members of the board. As you say, things have moved progressivly upwards since the dark old days, when i did think that the situation did need demonstrating upon, (followed by a public hanging), and i think, i''m sure like many others, that the ''New'', supporters were either not around in those dark ol'' days, or they''ve got bloody short memories. After all, statistics prove that relegated teams rarely go straight back up at the first attempt. Unfortunately, i think this year would have been a perfect oppotunity to go straight back up, as it wasn''t exactly the strongest division i can remember. The most disapointing point for me this season, is not the way things have gone on, on and off the pitch, but by the way us supporters have behaved towards the team. Players have always had stick from supporters, but not the vicious and humiliating way they have this season. From stupid *ucking stories on message boards, to nothing but out and out attacks on individuals when wearing the yellow and green. Do they really think this will improve and help their game? This is not what we are known for, and i hope that perhaps another season in this division may shake off a few of the brain dead types. So, going by this season, every time we finish outside the top 6, i take it we should be demonstrating outsde FCR, and calling for the managers head? After all, in all our 100+ years, there hasn''t been too many occasions when we''ve set the world of football alight. I realise that most of these points have been made before, and once again going over old ground, but don''t get chance to view these boards that often.  Unfortunately, i work most of the time in Trinidad, so although a season ticket holder, i have had to watch many of the games via BBC text via a very slow 3g connection and would have given my right arm to have been more than i have. So please, for next season, whoever is in charge, call a truce and get behing the club. After all, you can always go back to supporting Chelsea, Man U., Liv...........   Singing the Norwich City Calypso!
  20. Couln''t have put it better myself. Although too young to remember the Lol Morgan days, i took part in the Robert Chase protests. I know those protests were being made at the main structure of the club, and the way that the chairman obviously was in it it for what he could, as opposed to the the manager and tactical descisions which is happening now. I can understand totally with the frustration of supporters with the way things have gone this season, although theres more than meets the eye i''m sure of whats gone on behind the scenes. Injuries have played a big part, and i''m sure the Francis saga at the begining of the season, and the impending departure of Ashton. Along with so called supporters fueling the most stupid stories about Macenzie, Ashton, Francis, Shackell and Green. The season was doomed. Worthingtons lack of motivation of the team, and  tactical descisions, can only be described as woefull, and several of the signings, again are questionable. However, I cannot remember a time when individual players were singled out and jeered as much as they are now. There seems to be an awful lot of bandwagon jumping at the moment, and I think you have to question the age duration alot of the fans have been following the club, good times and bad. Don''t get me wrong, I think it is time for a change. Looking at Worthy''s record until this season was good, but i just don''t think he has the command in the dressing room, or the support of senior players that he used to have. The amount of injuries during training, of which the coaching side must be brought into question.  So, protest by all means, but do so outside the ground. I don''t think the members of the snake pit realised just how daft they looked after shouting ''Worthy Out'', and then cheering as the winning goal went in. IT COULD BE MUCH WORSE
  21. All this season I have been “happy” to let Nigel Worthington get on with his team re-building, thinking that eventually, when the injuries cleared up, things would turn around. Now, as I listen to the radio and we are 4-0 down at Palace, I’m sorry to say I realise that change is needed. This is not an hysterical ‘Worthy Out’ rant, in fact I have defended him on this board. But if we have fallen so far behind a team like Palace, who were neck and neck with us last season, then surely the situation has been mismanaged. Regretfully, I think the board should act sooner rather than later. Mike Newell anyone? Sad to say, i couldn''t have put it better myself. Have ''kept the faith'', for far too long now, but you can only support  the guy for so long. Obviously the team are no longer playing for the manager, nor the coaching staff.  Not sure about Newell, but someone has to come in before the big clear out at the end of the season.
  22. The chances of his D.O.B, in his passport being correct, are remote to say the least. It''s not a slight on him or even a case of trying to falcify anything. However, trying to keep any kind of records of births and deaths in some of the countries in Africa, were very difficult, what with civil wars and coups(?), occuring frequently. Hence a lot of estimation. Iv''e worked alot with local crews in Angola, Congo, and Nigeria, and to read there passports, were often the funniest part of working down there. One of the guy''s, who was obviously no older than 40, had a passport claiming he was 70! Not to be too controversial, lets just say officials were more leaniant with documents, depending on how many bottles of N''gok they had drunk (and you think Norwich bitter was bad!)
  23. Seems to be a poular area on here, must be the TV coverage we get! C/F/60
  24. I wish all you lot who arn''t going to renew, would just rip up your season tickets now. Perhaps then i could get back to doing what i have done for the last 22 years, and thats pay for a ticket when i''m home, and not have to pay £340 for 12 home games a year! Fair weather supporter? Na, just work the other side of the world for six weeks at a time, and have to rely on Teamtalk updates and the world service for my news, and catching on average 3 games when i''m home. The only reason i buy a season ticket now, is to guarentee a ticket to see the team i support since 3 years old, through the good, the bad and the worse. How many of you ''True'', supporters or whatever they like to call yourselves, who are considering giving up their seats, can honestly say that you bought your season tickets before the play-offs because you support the club through and through? Or is it because you wanted to be part of a club that were playing Premier football each week? It was obvious that season ticket sales  would be high when we went up, and then the following season, when we were expected to go straight back up. The high number of sales already go to show, that you lot are a minority, and that if you did give your season tickets up, then their would be plenty of people to take your place. So, yes, i''ll still be renewing next year, no i don''t care if you don''t. So, for the rest of the season just shut up moaning, get behind the team, you never know, by the end of the season you might just change y'' mind. If you think times are bad now, then sorry, you''ve got no idea!
  25. Once Ruel Fox (one of the best players to have ever graced Carrow Road) and a transfer fee of around £4M was pocketed a tragic replacement of Neil Adams was purchased from some unknown club (oldham i think) How this guy has made it into some of your cult teams i have no idea. He lacked any sort of pace, his dribbling was useless. Oh he couldn''t tackle and his crossing wasn''t great. Adams was a true example of a player who couldn''t cope in the Premiership and was true crap (not much better than Sutch). Does anyone agree with this opinion. And yes i did unfortunately watch him play a great deal - and thinking that i could possibly do a better job. Disgrace of a player The most pointless post iv''e read in a long time. Twit!
