1. What''s it like? Ive always sat in the lower but I''m borrowing a mate''s ST for the Scunny game and was wondering what the atmosphere''s like up there - do you lot get involved as much as much as the lower? Is continuous standing allowed/accepted in D and E block or is it saved more for the exciting moments? Are you in the Upper because you get a better view and would prefer to sit there, or would you like to be in the lower but cant get in there as its the hardest part of the ground to get a ST? just curious..Ive always thought it was a real shame that when they rebuilt the Barclay the club just mirrored the River End exactly, when surely a one tied bank with 6-7000 capacity would''ve been so much better - the atmosphere would be incredible! Sitting in the lower, you kind of forget that the Upper tiers is even there!
2. I dont think Swansea will be relishing their trip to Deepdale much though either. Their record away from home isn''t great and Preston have 2 wins and a draw in their last 4 and are rallying well under Phil Brown. I''ll take a 1-0 right now vs Scunthorpe and just maybe, we''ll be 3 or 4 points clear of Swansea come 5 o''clock!
3. also according to this away fans only get 2000 tickets http://www.footballgroundguide.com/portsmouth/Am pretty disappointed with this to be honest. Why couldnt the club just settle for the £5 coach ticket, a very generous gesture in its own right? Im an exile and I have 10 stubs but i think its fairly unlikely I''ll get a ticket now..
4. works for me as am going to a wedding on the saturday, but totally understand everyone''s frustration! Get used to it though, as saturday afternoon games will be at a premium in the prem..
5. sorry, didnt see this when started a new thread...http://www.teamtalk.com/everton/6830133/Rodwell-heads-U-21-withdrawals
6. More good news..http://www.teamtalk.com/everton/6830133/Rodwell-heads-U-21-withdrawalsSo just Crofts and Jackson away on International duty then.. please don''t come back crocked!
7. cant imagine they''ll be a mad rush to renew season tickets down there either..less than 10,000 STH''s next season? God i pity them - they keep harking on about their history, but the reality is that the only thing they have to show for the last 30 years is administration!
8. this was my 1st game! Andy Linigan scored with a towering header from a Crook corner (not sure the other goalscorers, sorry) but for some reason I remember the 1-1 draw with Southampton a few weeks later far more clearly (when Andy Townsend swallowed his tongue)..So many great games but just a few off the top of my head that will always hold a special place in my memoryHome – Villa at home in 1933 - midweek game, we beat them 1-0 (Polsten in 84th min) to go top of the league with what, 5 games left? Away - Top of the league at Portman Rd 2004Europe – Bayern Munich at CR 1993 FA Cup – games against West Ham in  1989 and Southampton 1991(followed by the shittest semi final performances you could think of, esp vs Sunderland at Hillsborough in 1992 - it still pisses me off today!
9.
just got it its freeeeeeeeeeeeee :)
Is it?! sweet if it is.. cant really check it out til get home this evening but was told about it by a Chelsea supporting mate who said he had to pay a fiver for the Chelsea version (maybe Prem league have to pay for it whereas football league clubs dont?)Not sure about canary player but was on the train back to london after the Cardiff game I think it was and someone was listening to the Lambert post match interview on, what I assume to be canaries world.. anyone?
10. I used to be a big England fan and spent a lot of time and money supporting them both at home in Euro ''96 and then in France ''98 and Portugal ''04.. nowadays I have absolutely no interest in the meaningless friendlies, only a passing interest in qualifiers (I''ll watch if im at home but wont go out of my way) and although I watch the big tournaments with interest, its more through the eyes of a football fan than an England supporter these days.. players attitudes and behaviour on and off the pitch are a big turn off for me, as is having a foreign coach who just dont ''get'' the English mentality towards international football.. Give the kids and an English manager (Rednapp?) a go and I might give a toss again..Being a proud Englishman I''d always want England to beat Wales but I wouldnt be surprised if I cheer louder for a Crofts goal than an England one come saturday!
11. Anyone got this? sounds pretty good and I guess well worth a fiverhttp://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/football-league-official-clubs/id385520353?mt=8loving the 2nd quote down in the review section"Worth the fee for access to nearly a years worth of highlights alone. Especially when you can watch your team embarrassing your local rivals 4-1, and overturning Leeds to take the league one title. A definite purchase" haha
12. I read this article last night and agree, a very well written piece.. Despite what everyone thinks of Bellamy, he''s obviously a pretty decent person deep down, and its clear he''s still got a lot of love for all things NCFC. Its not going to happen for many reasons but if we did go up I''d love to see a front 2 of Holty and Bellars come august..
13. Its crazy having to play 3 games in 6 days but actually the fixture list / Sky might have helped us out a bit. Looking at the timings of fixtures for the Championship in April: We''ll have a few hours less (plus traveling back) than Watford to prepare / recover for their game on tues following Swansea Have the same period of time as Forest for the game on the friday (3 days each) Have best part of 24hrs more than the scum to recover / prepare before the derby as they play on the saturday Then, a result of playing on the thursday night, we have 3 full days off before the match against Derby on bank holiday monday, whereas they''ll have less than 48hrs as they play on saturday afternoon.. (plus it''ll be their 3rd game in 7 days as opposed to our 3rd in 9)After that kick off times are all the same Not a huge deal, but every little helps!
14. The team and Lambert deserve as much support in Swansea as we can possibly muster.I know that cost / distance / timing / SKY (god I hate them) are all major factors in staying at home and watching it on the telly, and I certainly wont be questioning anyone who does, but this is such a big game that its got to be worth moving heaven and earth to get there for, surely?!I cant really afford it, and due to the late kick off I wont be back in Hackney til well midnight but I''m kind of justifying it by the fact that if we can help towards a good result in Swansea which helps towards us going up in 2nd then I''m going to be saving possibly £150+ by not having to shell out for play off games/ Wembley..Follow follow follow
15. well they were getting Klose but they seem to have tailed off a bit recently! i''ll get my coat
16. Just bought mine. The guy in the ticket office said they''re selling very well and he''s expecting them to sell out by end of tomo, so if you want to go I suggest you get a move on!
17. up for watching tonight''s game in the Old Red Lion theatre, just down the hill from Angel tube? I think its run by a Canary and there was a cracking atmosphere in there for the Reading game (well 1st half at least!) back in november..otbc
18. Hopse so! Would be nice to have to have it wrapped up before the Coventry game as Ive got a wedding that day grrrrrr - cant see it happening though..
19. Thanks for that Matt,So, second sunday in April takes us to the 10th.. only 4 games between now and then so fingers crossed that we will avoid any more suspensions (except for any red cards obviously) before the end of the season..  every little helps!
20. afternoon all,Does anyone know the date at which 10 yellow cards for the season no longer equals a 2 game ban. I seem to recall that the clock gets reset (increased to 15 yellows for a ban to come into play) sometime in April but cant really remember and I cant find anything about it?At the moment, yellow cards as follows:Crofts 7Ward 7Holt 6Lansbury 6Lansbury''s picked up his 6 in double quick time, but the other 3 (and the rest of the team) have showed excellent disciple in the last few months and havent picked up many cards at all - Crofts / Ward and Holt were all on 5 by Xmas I think, so to only have picked up a couple of cards between them in nearly 3 months is a great return, and so crucially this hopefully wont lead to any suspensions during the all important run in..Can anyone confirm this for me? cheers otbc
21. It''s a disgusting amount of money to watch a 2nd division match - unfortunately the scum have us over a barrel and they know it, as we''ll sell our full allocation with ease.. out of interest does anyone know what we charged them in november? I''m guessing £33, which i think is top whack at Carrow Rd - and is plenty. However I think that next season (assuming we dont go up) we should charge them the same as they''re charging us..I''m Cat 3 (10 away stubs but no season ticket) - anyone got any idea of my chance of getting a ticket? Pretty small I guess as its a massively anticipated match and is not being televised; however i wonder if it being an evening game, and with the potential for it to kick off - will it put off a percentage of our fans from wanting to go.. i guess the demographic could be fairly different to usual (ie less kids)Its a wild gestimate but how many applications are expected by the ticket office, 5000 maybe?Cat 1 and 2 = probably about 1000-1200 which would leave just 1000 tickets for cat 3 = not great odds!Luckily the binners never get close to filling their dump, so i guess if the worst comes to the worst then I can always get a seat in the churchmans upper (shudder) but i really dont want to have to..otbc
22. I''m a bit surprised to see that the odds on Cody finishing top scorer in league 2 this season are still as much as 3-1. He''s only 1 goal behind LeFondre (11-8), but as he was injured for the first couple of months and has only really been banging them in from about mid october time I think its quite a good bet  - IF he can stay fit and the Gills continue to perform well I can see him running away with it, esp as LeFondre seems to have gone off the boil a bit recently..
