  1. Cant see that happening for a very long time, if ever. City stand first, upper Jarrold stand second. Neither do I - was ment tongue in cheek really.. And they''ll nerver ever knock down that shit hotel either, but how frickin'' amazing would a single tier kop style Barclay stand with a capacity of 8-10,000 be!
  2. 3 years?!I know we dont want to get ahead of ourselves here, and at the moment every available spare penny should be given to Lambert to strengthen the squad, but I''m pretty sure I read not so long ago that work would begin on replacing the City Stand  as and when it looked like we''d survived our 2nd year back in the prem - did I dream that?Great news though, a Carrow Rd with a new double tier City Stand and double tiered corner infills at the Barclay and river Ends would be awesome.. Then all that would be left is to knock down the hotel and join the Jarrold to the Barclay (which should be knocked down and made into one single tiered kop) but I guess that''s for another day..
  3. There are probably pubs/bars closer to the ground, and it does get very busy, but I''d recommend the Coach and Horses up on Thorpe Rd behind the train station - great beer, friendly atmosphere and less than 10 min walk to the back of the Barclay..
  4. ^^^^^^ahem to that! how anyone can defend him/his actions over this (if true) is totally beyond me
  5. Cheers Tim, thanks for clearing that up. I only know that the New Red Lion is now open again as I cycle passed it most days, though havent ventured in yet.Personally I much prefer the Old Red Lion anyway - Will be in there tonight and I must have seen 5/6 games in there last season too and the atmosphere was always brilliant - the fact we won most of them might have helped! Big screen, couple of other tellies, excellent beers/ale on tap (and enough staff behind the bar) -  I''d definitely recommend it. It helps I live 10 mins down the road but it''s literally 2 mins from Angel tube so easily accessible.. Bit of a shame that they''re only showing the official Sky/ESPN games and not all 38 as I''ve read/heard that a lot of pubs in Norfolk are doing, but I guess they have their reasons (though must be good reasons, as I imagine they make a killing on match days/nights) By the way if the Landlord reads this I reckon I''ve just earnt a couple of pints on the house!Fingers crossed for tonight - am going for a very hard fought 2-1 win (Morison and Bennett) - though worryingly I''ve just read that in 13 monday night away matches in the prem Sunderland have yet to win one..otbc
  6. Tim,I thought that the New Red Lion (Formerly the Offside Bar) half way up City Road had now re-opened since its refurb and was the original home of the Capital Canaries. Has they now permanently moved to the Old Red Lion theatre?cheers
  7. I''ve always been aware of the friendly cup vs Sunderland but being only 7 in 1985 I didnt really know / had never really heard the details behind the story, until now - and what a wonderful story it is (especially given the state of football at the time). Do any City fans who were at Wembley that day have any stories of their own to share? http://www.rokerreport.com/2011/9/21/2438838/sunderland-norwich-friendly-cup
  8. of course we can win! £5 on city to beat chelsea and leeds to beat the binners = £220
  9. Im sure Southampton will be challenging for the top 2 this season, Brighton top 10 but play offs might just be beyond them..As a side note re back to back promotions to the top division – everyone keeps banging on how we''re the 1st team since Man City (1999-2001) to do this but they only got promoted from league 1 to the championship through the play offs. What we did was much more impressive and I think I''m right in saying the last team to win back to back promotions via the automatic spots only was Sheff Utd in 1988-1990, they finished runner up both seasons..
  10. brilliant! spread the word..follow follow follow
  11. Hi,Does anyone know if the Red Lion in Angel, London will be showing all city games live?thanks
  12. dont know why the quote thing didnt work - that was in response to "every game will be £50"
  13. absolute rubbishhttp://www.footballgroundguide.com/
  14. Bollox to that! Welcome to the Premier League peopleI guess they''ve got to pay Torres'' wages somehow, but still.. I''d love to be there but I''ll be watching with mates on a live stream or in the pub instead and save myself £40.
  15. Good move for him. He wouldnt get a game at Leicester, and at Brighton he''s got a chance of becoming a star for a club that are definately on the up. I would''nt be surprised if they''re not far off the play offs next season. With Gus Poyet as manager and the anticipation of Brighton finally moving to the new stadium they''ve deserved for so many years, I can see why he choose Brighton above Leics / West Ham / QPR (God only know what''s happening there?!) etc.Would''ve liked to have seen him here but think we''ve got a very good blend of strikers / attacking midfielders as it is (including hopefully Pilkington) and remaining money needs to be invested in a central defender (Chambers please!)
  16. Anyone want to hazard a guess at what the new signings are earning per week?!I''ve no idea but would imagine something in the region ofMorison 8-10kVaughan 12-15kBennett 8-10kJohnson 12-15k (big signing on fee!)De Laet - percentage of wage, 7.5k+ bonuses for staying up, win, goals clean sheets etc..??
  17. I can only find 7 away stubs from last season, have somehow managed to both forest and derby tickets - which would''ve given me 9, and I intend to try and get to one of the friendlies which would give me 10. I rang the ticket office hoping that they could see that I''d bought a ticket for both forest and derby and would therefore let me use them towards the 10, but I guess understandably they said you had to send in the actual ticket. I know its cheeky and will probably annoy a few on here but does anyone have those tickets (or any 2 really) that I could use towards the 10 and would then send them straight back?
  18. I think the away end at Wigan can hold 5000+ – so plenty of room for everyone
  19. we'' re herewe''re therewe''re every f''ingwhere norwich fansnorwich fans
  20. Does anyone know if pre-season friendlies can be used towards the 10 away stubs? I guess they probably cant but I''m a bit desperate as due to work I only managed 6 away games last season..
  21. He runs about a lot but not sure he''s got enough quality to play in the premier league.
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufZRA5gyXhQI guess you''ve all seen this, and apologies if has been posted recently, but came it across it again earlier and thought it was worthy of another airing..What a pillock - I''m convinced too that by the smugness/tone of voice that he really wanted city to end up in league 2.. lets hope MOTD show this at the start of their first program next season for the whole world to see..
