  1. for the spell checkers - Interesting
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/my-premier-league-life Team most beaten in my life time - ''Ipswich Town'' !
  3. Yankee - this is the problem I have with watching Womens footy and the sport in general... If I stepped in at Wimbledon and played Serena Williams I''d lose 6/0 6/0 in fact I probably wouldn''t get a point, if I lined up against Paula Radcliffe in the marathon she would be out of sight after about 150 metres. If (when in my prime when I was 25 and a fairly handy footy player) I got asked to play right back for England Womens I honestly think I would step in without a problem and I can think of a lot of friends who I played football with who could do the same....
  4. Only been once with my father in about 1983/4 I was only about 12 at the time and we won 1-0 - I think Flecky or Drinkell? scoring in the last minute! So yes I''m going to make this trip no.2!
  5. I have a friend (yes I know we have been there before) who works at N and N Hospital - also confirmed same thing - has a fracture in his back....don''t know what this means in recovery time but doesn''t sound great!
  6. I''m sorry to hear of the treatment to your father, but the lower barclay is probably not the best place to take a 74 year old to his first game...
  7. I Cannot believe some people''s view on here - I have turned 40 this year my greatest memory was watching us win the Milk Cup at Wembley with 100,000 fans as a 12 year old. Since then we''ve been relagated and promoted so many times. Some people only care about the Money now and how wonderful it would be if we can finish 15th in the Premier League. I love the Premier league dont get me wrong and I''m proud of how well out club is doing - but if somebody said to me we will get relegated this year but we will win the FA cup at Wembley, or we can finish 12th in the Premier league and win nothing - believe me I''ll take the FA Cup all day long....no one will be looking back in 20 years time saying ''Can you remember the 12/13 season when we finished 12th in the League!!!!
  8. Personally as a father with a 9 year old son I have given up on taking him to away games because as soon as everybody stands up he cant see anything! - there seems to be a mentality that if you dont stand up you aren''t a passionate fan, the last away game i went to was Arsenal last season and i had a guy next to me who was in his late 60''s and was really struggling to stand through 90 minutes because he wasn''t in the best of health, stay at home you may say but he had paid for a seating ticket and had as much right to see the game as everbody else.  At thome games you have a choice where to go and i wouldnt go in the lower barclay as i know that people will stand up - though at an away game you have no choice - if you bought a ticket to go to the cinema and the chap in front of you stood up, you wouldn''t be impressed though it''s fine at a footy match! (yes i know the cinema is not quite a football match!!) Though in saying that for people who enjoy standing I think there should be a separate place for them - I know we always go back to Hillsborough, but with no more fences anymore if a crush did start to develop you could simply spill out onto the pitch. Anyway that''s my 2 penneth!
  9. I Really dont get all this hype over Martinez, teams cue-ing up for him last season after he barely scraped relegation, and again this season they only stayed up due to last 4/5 games, when you look at the team who played us at Carrow Road he has some very fit strong skillful players (probably more natural footballers than us) I''m sure Lambert would have had them top half! - I''ll give him 9 months!
  10. I had a bet at this each way (top 4 finish) which I''m still slightly sweating over as we will need to beat Villa on the last day (unless we get something at Arsenal) but Newcastle are already about 8 points clear in first place...............
  11. Hopefully this will be the end of the back 5 - here''s a thought why not Drury left back as he''s left footed and naughton right back as he''s right footed yes it sounds simple but that''s what players like - Drury is getting on but how often do you see as player go past him and get a cross in, he is still an excellent defender - then for me centre half''s whitbread and martin I''m sorry but when somebody runs at Ward his legs turn to jellyyyyyy - oh well my 1st post I''ve got my crash helmet on! OTBC!
  12. Right my tuppence halfpenny'' 1.Norwich 2.West Brom 3.West Ham 4.Wigan 5.Sunderland 6.Ipswich Cant believe some of you guys have Sheff Utd above us they have lost their only decent player (Brown) and their strikeforce is a joke.
