A fish rots from the head
Robert N. LiM replied to Dean Coneys boots's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
There might not be a way to beat Leicester with our two best strikers out (though Barnes played an hour or so of that game). But there ought to be a way to not lose 2-6 to Plymouth. -
Or even his dad's. Gunny senior's sheer presence was his biggest attribute. Hope Angus can develop that side of his game.

A fish rots from the head

Think the key question is whether Wagner can come up with an effective plan B. Plan A looked great when Barnes and Sargent were fit. But the results since Sargent's injury (I haven't seen any of those games except about 20 mins of the Rotherham game) suggest that he hasn't found a way to get us playing since we lost them. It's a coaching challenge and it will be interesting (possibly in the Chinese sense...) to see whether DW can rise to it. Worrying signs so far. -
For me it’s all about the response now

I see the point, but the trouble is that if you leave all these guys out (apologies if that's not what you're suggesting) against a PL side (even a likely second-string PL side) you massively increase the chances of a second successive stuffing, which even in a League Cup match would be pretty disastrous. It's a tricky decision for DW, and if one of our most important players plays and gets injured he will get pelters, but I wouldn't be surprised if he asks quite a lot of the senior players to play midweek to try and get the Plymouth game out of their system as quickly as possible. At the very least, I can see the arguments on both sides. And I think we can all agree this Fulham game could not have come at a worse time. -

Totally agree. They should sell up. Find a rich American or something. -
I'd be astonished if there wasn't one for all players and staff already. The news article linked on p1 of this thread quotes the club as saying: So presumably they do have some kind of code to follow within that procedure.

I was struck by Connor and Paddy repeatedly saying in their video that it was MA who wanted to stick at 40% for now. Obviously that may well be club spin designed to head off criticism like yours there, but I guess there's a small chance that it's also true. He seemed to play the long game at the Brewers and may well want an extended handover while he and his team get used to the (very weird) realities of English football. All this totally speculation on my part. -

O/T Fergie Time & the added time changes
Robert N. LiM replied to Icecream Snow's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
They had a really long VAR check (at the end of which they didn't change the decision...) during added time in the Villa game. So there was added time in the added time. -
Stoke predictions/team
Robert N. LiM replied to dylanisabaddog's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Unless someone's injured that we don't know about, this has got to be the team, hasn't it? Don't think Hwang will have met most of the players, let alone trained meaningfully with them. No more than sub appearances from him this week, I'd have thought. Whatever you think of Idah, if he doesn't start in these circumstances, then there's no point in him being at the club. -

And this seems to contrast very favourably with the Everton takeover in which one a**ehole has sold a venerable football club to a whole bunch of a**eholes over what seems like a coffee.
