  1. Would be very funny if Ipswich bottle their opportunity today. Boro doing ok, too. Not an easy game by any means. Now, where did I put those straws?
  2. Need a bit of injury time Farke magic here. Come on, and I can't believe I'm saying this, Leeds.
  3. I mean, FFS Daniel. What the hell are you doing?
  4. That's a bold claim. But if they do end up in the play offs they're going to be pretty traumatised. Shades of Wolves in 2002?...
  5. But at the risk of rehashing an old argument, while this should offer them reassurance (we're dominating games and creating chances), it's also a cause for concern (we're not taking our chances). And of course the more you worry about not taking chances, the more likely you are to miss them...
  6. Not a massive problem I agree but I have been stung by it a few times when watching and on WhatsApp with other fans at the same time. The "What a goal!" message comes through just as Sara and Núñez are standing over the free kick, that sort of thing... It got really bad during last summer's Ashes. I watched that like someone who could foretell the future...
  7. A) They were all less fit than they are now, so conditioning was less of a factor. B) Home advantage was probably even starker then. Someone will correct me on the quote but didn't John Bond suggest that the reason for the difference between our home and away form was "the A47 and the A17"?
  8. Certainly seemed like Knapper didn't feel Wagner could mount a play off challenge from the position we were in at Christmas, and decided we'd be better off keeping our powder dry till the summer. To be fair to him, though, that was probably the majority view among fans at that time. But now it does seem as though we're fighting for promotion with one hand tied behind our back.
  9. The more I think about it the more I think a point would be an excellent result today, not least because it preserves our lead over Preston.
  10. Ha, I'd just come back on this thread to mention this. Completely agree. He was at his absolute peak then. It was a few days before Spurs' FA Cup semi-final with Arsenal (Barry Davies: "Is Gascoigne going to have a crack? He is, you know....oh I say!") and Spurs basically played a reserve team, apart from Gazza, who was (of course) coming back from injury so needed the minutes. He was like a kid in a playground, just so obviously the best player on the pitch (and NCFC were good in those days). IIRC, he played about an hour and, as you say, the whole ground rose to him as he was substituted. I think the residual affection from Italia 90 played a part in it, but mostly it was just because he was sensational. My main memory is the keeper rolling the ball out to him on the edge of the Spurs box and him just running the length of the field with it. More than once. What a player.
  11. I was just pleased to discover you're not completely infallible!
  12. 2 wins and a draw is 75 points, but I agree that should be enough, especially if one of them comes this Saturday...
  13. A long, long time ago I remember a Siggi Jonsson goal for Wednesday being applauded at CR. A mazy run through our entire defence is what I remember, but it might have been a Safri-style banger. As I said, it was a long time ago. And not a goal, obviously, but Dion's ovation in his last game, at Wednesday, was a great example of the same kind of sportsmanship.
  14. Interesting stuff. Probably most of the reason why, after 42 games, I still don't know whether we are brilliant or awful. Weirdest season on record.
  15. It is more than 20 years since they've been in it tbf. Easy to forget.
  16. The Pink Un doesn't distinguish between those who liked this post on its face value and those who liked it assuming it's ironic. My like is one of the latter. But playing two audiences at once is smart work. Chapeau.
