1. We also notice this lad who was wearing Red total 90''s or so the boys told me! We believe it may have been Rossi Jarvis?
2. I am not doubting his ability, but what is he. Today [Saturday] it looked like a balanced side with Brenan coming to the left to help Drury. Jonnson on the right and the Francis and Mulryne middle. When the game started Francis,Mulryne aand Brenan were in the middle with Hux somewhere between left side of midfield and attack. this left little cover for Drury who was constantly up against Solano and Delaney. The 2 goal was an example of the unbalance we had. Last year we could afford Hux to have a free role as we were the best team in the league and had Holt covering Drury''s forward runs. This year niether of these apply. Huckerby should either play as an authdox midfielder with defencive duties or as an out and out front man which means playing more central. Other wise for the balance and good of the team, should be used as a sub to change games against tiring defences.
3. If you had a choice Worthy or Royal? Yep me to, stay as you are Worthy
4.
I don''t think it has anything to do with favouring the away team. I think it has more to do with favouring the "bigger" team, so he doesn''t upset anyone important...
I honestly thing he try''s he''s best but he''s just not good enough. I can''t believe he want his picture in the newspapers. it frightens the kids doing the paper round
5.
If I was in your shoes, I would be gutted if the 400 sold out before I got to the front - fortunately it would only be a 15 minute train journey home! What would a disappointed fan do? Make the 2 1/2 ...
I''m not even thinking about that Brum, as I am taking to juniors with me, What other games are on in the area?
6. This is not all bad news Peter. As one of the supporters who will be travelling to Villa in the hope of one of the 400 tickets, maybe if they are all sold out there will be room on the bench!!!!!
7. To the tune of Radio Ga Ga. All you hear is Clap Clap Dean Ashton -Clap Clap,Dean Ashton,Clap clap Dean Ashton All you hear is Clap Clap Dean Ashton - Deano''s come from Crewe And He''ll score goals past you.Clap Clap
8. After our loss to the @ammers yesterday i was in my normal reflective mode whilst tileing the bathroom, we had no natural- sorry proven - goalscorer to worry the defence so we played Jonnson - of whom I am becoming a fan. Why didin''t we play Paul Mcveigh? he can hold a ball uphe can run at defenders and he can score goals from anywhere ( evidents is on "Worthy Champions" DVD) after all Flecky never won many headers did he. Who are we going play alongsides Ashton?
9. How about 100, at his age and with his ability he could be the next Norwich centurian.
10. According to all reports we have our man? We as fans have to wait until Saturday ( If you''re one of the lucky ones) to see the man him self, what are we going to do to kill the time? Can I make a suggestion, can we think of an original song for him? after all there''s only 1 Deano is a little long in the tooth isn''t it? I will be waiting for the Barclay or the Snake pit to start the song against Middlesboro'' as I have no tickets for Villa.
11. That rates Sorry-son in the 3.5m bracketI don''t. We don''t need another keeper even if Greeno does leave as we have 2 international keeper and a very capable young un. If we accept this offer where do we benefit? why would Greeno want to go to Villa he will do better by staying and waiting for a "big" Club.
12. Let''s remember only 12 months ago Leon was playing div 2 football for a poor Peterboro'' team. He made an instant impact on the 1st Div after his moove now he is being asked to play on his own in the top league. I tink he is spending to much time outside the box playing for the team and not enough time poaching. This seems to be the same with Hucks and Svennson too. Let''s see Leon and Ashton (please) then judge the boy.
13. After an indifferent start I feel that Gary Docherty is turning into another very useful addition to the squad. I only listened to the pompey game but was aware of the number of defensive last ditch tackles he made. This coming after some very competent performances in the last few games, Bolton, Spurs and Middlesboro'' we still need to help him out on the height thing at the set pieces but would like others opinion on this signing now that he has settled in. As for the people who still thing Malky could do as well - watch his distribution.
14. I know this is a little bit of a tangent to the original thread.... But has any body noticed how similar Ian Dowie and Mr. Incredible look ? Maybe it''s just me. Can anybody think of any others.
15. Let''s get ambitious why not keep Green and add Bentley !(providing he plays like Saturday)
16. Obviously this is terrible news but in honesty we were always going to get some vital injuries during the season. Can somebody please explain what Holty''s done wrong? I accept he hasn''t taken to the Premiership as easily as some but he''s work rate is never in question and if we recall him surely that allows Mullers a more positive role. They were a good combination for a long time before Francis arrived so let''s stick with the tried and tested with Helveg on the bench as cover.
17. I was walking through Norwich earlier this week and bumped into Santa in Jarrolds. He ask for my Christmas list. I told him, Top of my List was Dean Ashton of Crewe He Told me he''d see what he could do, He also asked me to find out from fellow fans their wishes. To avoid disappointment get your order in early.
18.
great drinkell (if only he were still playing!) we are behind the team, and for your information (or if you can be bothered to go back a year on these threads) some of us were of similar mind then - ...
This reply has certainly been taken to heart, I am all for opinions - let''s face it that''s one of the reasons we all love the game - all I am saying is it takes time to move up a level in anything you do whether it be working life or sporting abilitie, Lets give Holt a chance and I''m sure he will prove to be a good Premier league player. If at Christmas there are players who are''nt doing it then I''ll accept that there are not up to it.
19. I find it amazing, Last year we were all behind the team and look what happened now after 6 games we are a team of poor players. If anything the team should have been given a chance. That would include Holt ( I suggest you watch him when he''s not got the ball instead of just when he has it)he is the modern day Mendham. Drop him and watch what happens to the team. By the way I''d also have Svensson in the starting line up too as he is a clever player with great vision.
20. Last year the Pompey fans were cosidered to be the best in the league(that''s coz we weren''t in it) tomorrow they will be showing us why. It''s up to us If we sit quiet and watch then we will be 1 goal down before we start. I predict a 2-0 win if we all pull together! If you all sing and I''m wrong I''ll apologise later but if you don''t sing then you can''t blame me. Tomorrow depends on us all
21. Okay we all have a wish that this time next year we are still a premiership club Let''s for a minute asume that this is achieved and you still have one Footballing wish left what would it be?? Mine is that as a club we do not start blaming Referees and Linesmen(sorry assistance) if we have the occassional poor decision and I''m sure we will - Last year it kept us apart from the rest in Division 1.
22. I like you DD would welcome him back with open arms. I don''t understand the anger towards him. He clearly stated that after the Cardiff final he would give us 1 year then he would leave for the preimership. (I have tried to better myself in my proffesional life only to realise the other mans grass may be greener but it take longer to mow! and who hasn''t made a poor decision in thier life?) My only concern is we all know about his ability but what about his head? I''ll leave that to those who know him!
23. I feel that an apology to Gazza is in order, So Gazza please accept this message as a heart felt apology and if you see somebody wallking round the city with his head bowed in disgrace- It''s me! Oh and City Angel thanks for pointing this error out.
24. Surely if he had been able to defend his near post Chelsea would be looking forward to the final. The third goal was due to his inability. A good goalkeeper is one who get'' in the right position and doesn''t have to throw themselves all over the shop as they can read the game. Remember Greeno''s saves from Stoke and Preston games? he was correctly positioned so was able to make them other lesser keepers wouldn''t have seen them never mind save them. As for the cover I''m still pondering that one.( how about Mr. Marshall?)
25. I am pleased to see you didn''t take Mr.K with you !! Looks a great day out.
