1.

The only worry about a player like Turner, is that he will end up like Gary Doherty. Despite being a poor signing somehow becoming am NCFC regular and playing for years until finally finding his level in League 1.
This amuses me. Those who thought that Gary Doherty was a good defender should be bound and gagged when it comes to discussing the art of defending.
That''s Nigel Worthington then.
2. I agree, you could also add QPR and West Ham to the list and it is very important that we beat these teams at home and get something away from home.  the only down side is we have already played 2 of them at home and drawn both which is disappointing and also means the pressure is on to get points else where.I also believe you will not need as many as 40pts to stay up, possibly 35/36 should do it.
3. I feel it is now too late for Hughton and actual it was the 2 home games against West Ham & QPR where he has failed us as we needed to win those 2 games.  With the defeat today and Chelsea & Arsenal next, it looks like it will be 8 games without a win and if we are lucky we will be on 4points.We then have 3/4 games we need to pick some points up in.  If hughton was to go now it would give the new manager 3weeks to get the team ready for the important games.
4. I rest my case.  I have now seen turner play 3 games and he has be poor.  What a waste of money.
5. I fail to see the reason why we signed Michael Turner, from what I have seen he''s no better than Elliot Ward.  With Ward outside the our premier league squad of 25 and turner there instead, to me we have wasted the money we used to buyt him on and the wages we are paying.  The whole thing is heightened by the fact we failed to sign a striker, an area we are short on.
6. Not sure if this has been mentioned already but Paul Lambert has now managed 3 out off the 5 English professional clubs Martin O''Neill has.the comparison will go on,
7. It depends if this new 3 years contract remains on the same terms as he is on at the minute which reported at £16k a week (£832k a season) then I think it is a small gamble to pay for an extra season and to keep him happy but I would think that if Holt and his agent initially agreed a contract extention the next thing would be a wage rise, probably to around £30k a week meaning the whole contract would cost City £4.6m, thats £3m just for an extra year.I puts the club in a difficult position not knowing whether to stick or twist -
8. I would believe that this is probably true as I can see it only being the reason he would want to leave.  Being Holt is 31 and probably still got a couple of seasons left at the top level (of which he is contracted to Norwich), he signed his current contract while we were in the championship and suspect his agent has been doing the rounds and probably got a club to triple his wages.  Holt''s just looking out for his financial future and remember that he''s played alot in the lower leagues and probably not got alot put aside for his retirement. If a club would offer him £40k a week for 2 years it would be worth around £2-3million to him and £40k a week is not alot for a striker who has scored 15 premier league goals.
9. Being classed as a casual supporter and endured another price hike of the casual tickets i was very annoyed at the start of the season, not only that the fact you need to be a super member now to get a ticket is just more money out of my pocket to see my team. Now I can go down my local pub to watch every game, watch all 38 premier league Norwich games, not only that it is bring real value back to the supporters.  I know its not as good as going to the game live, but in the current economic climate it''s great, free to get in, you get to drink a pint while watching the game and the atmosphere is good too.  I actually can wait until Sunday''s gameI wonder if we will see a drop in casual supporters going to some of the games due to this, on top of all this it also helps put money into local pubs and supports them at the same time.  Latvian Sky, I love you.
10. It is a concern the £28 cheapest, you need a membership for and is £20 (another sub point - the normal £15 membership is surplus to requirement as there are  over 5000 super members with about 2000 - 3000 tickets available per match) they have been raising the casual tickets for sometime, i fear that if we survive this season in the premier league the season ticket will receive a leveling out raise in line with the casual tickets costing around £500-£600.the plus point is that all the game will be on live somewhere in the world which means that you will be able to source it only and there are pub in norfolk saying they are showing them all
11. I''ll sum it up, I''m a casual supporter, I had absolutely nothing on today and would have normally gone to the game but £31 to see swansea I thought i''ll give it a miss and got to the next game.  if the ticket was £25 I would have gone.Generally the casual ticket buyers are pissed off with the pricing policy, I will pay £31 to watch Norwich but it has to be the right game (Ipswich or like last season, the Leeds game)
12. What I would say is you generally pay more for away tickets,  the clubs know they can get away with it. I bet that forrest and doncaster wont be charging £30 for a 12yrs old to watch us. At the end of the day its basic economics, its a business and all down to supply and demand, businesses will always charge as much as the can get away with, they only care about profit.  eg if peole would pay £100 a ticket and the ground was full they would. the only way the ticket prices will drop is if people stop going, then the club would have to reprice

14. As I said on the previous thread regarding this, it will be interesting what the turn out is.  I suspect the the infils will have spare seats ( bar the snake pit) but we''ve won our last 2 games and spirits will be high. I''m a casual supporter going to around half the home games but I wont go tomorrow as I don''t think it is value for money and as a casual supporter i can pick and choose.  I look at this fixture and assess the following, importance of the game - not an important game at this stage of the season, the opposition - there ok but im not desprate to see swansea, cost of a ticket - £30. I don''t see it as good value, and i''ll give it a miss and go to the barnsley game as I think it represents good value and we normally have good games against them.
15. the reason I think it is a CAT A is because its the start of the season and there is a good feeling and optomism after winning Lge 1 and the club think people wil pay it. As the ticket prices were released before the start of the season the club were taking a chance we would beat Watford and still be on a crest of a wave.
16. I wouldn''t say its a must win but we must make sure its not a defeat, i''d take a draw to get a point on the board, it also depends on how we get on tomorrow against Gillingham, I think a win and a few goals will go a long way to picking us up after the Watford game.
17.

People on here keep going on about a Season Ticket being Very good value for money, I think we are all agreed on this point that they do represent exceptional value, I think the original point of this thread was the vast increase in Casual match tickets will drive fans away. Looking at increases, Grade A games have only increased by around 16% for an adult ticket, it is the Grade B (which majority of games will be) that has had a 36% hike for adults and the over 60s ticket which my dad is has gone from £12 last year to £21 this season - 75% increase. Casual supports have the capacity to contribute to 32% of the clubs ticket revenue, they are also more likely to buy a programme and food at the kiosks as it is more of a day out than a regular routine. Rating Watford & Swansea as grade A will only make us casual supporters think more carefully about the games we go to & it will be intersting how many empty seats there are at the Swansea game.
I agree, thats a fair old increase. But, as far as I know, we are still pretty cheap compared to a lot of teams in this division, and we will never be able to compete with them if we consistently short change ourselves. Maybe we have had it too good for too long, which is precisely, despite getting good crowds, we are so much in debt.
It will be interesting to see what the season ticket prices are next season, as it is the only thing left, to increase the revenue, I think it will be driven by how well we do on the pitch, if we have a poor season but stay in the championship, there will be a minumul increase as some fans wont renew but there will probably be enough to take there place.  If we have a good season and our playing good football and push for the play-off but still stay in the championship I think at this point Mcnally will try a hike in season ticket prices. Obviously if we were to get in the premier league we would see a large increase & a freeze if we went down again.

I don''t think it will drive us away but we might pick the games we go to a bit more carefully, and we''ll probably go to fewer games which will reduce the attendance.  for example the next home game against Swansea is again £30 a ticket, as I casual ticket buyer I will probably give it a miss and go to the home game after against Barnsley as I expect it to be £25.It not about being able to afford £30 a game, its more a case of the consumer assessing whats good value for money, If we got to play at wembley I''d happily pay £50-80 a ticket because as a fan that would be a price worth paying, but £30 for a game against watford which I can watch on Sky which I already pay for is not value for money in anyones book, but I''ll pay £30 this season without a blink of an eye to watch the derby which is also on tv but there is nothing like the atmosphere of a derby game and thats why it is always a sellout.I think the club can get away with charging higher prices for these casual ticket but need to make sure they pick the right games, not to get too greedy otherwise it will drive fans away.I think if you are a season ticket holder on this post, it is easy for you to say that raising the prices for casual tickets is justified but your not paying £30 a game and if you season ticket jumped up to £600 you would be on here moaning too.I think you will find that there will be a significant rise in season ticket prices next season and those that pay monthly may find interest added as they are more business minded now.
On the season ticket point though, its about guaranteed income. A season ticket holder is paying for every single game for the entire season, utterly regardless of the team playing well, and that is why they are rewarded with lower prices. I personally don''t think they will meddle with this too much, as they know they are in a fantastic position regarding ST numbers.
I don''t disagree with season ticket holder getting a better deal on ticket, as you would expect a discount buying in bulk, I think from a business perspective, It could be seen by a consultancy company as too good a deal getting around a 33% discount on ticket prices.time will tell.
Is that an actual figure, or a guess? As I really haven''t bothered to work out how much each game costs me. I don''t think it can be underestimated though really, I have committed to a product that I have no idea of the quality of. Also if, for whatever reason I can''t make a match then they still have my money. I think that from a football clubs point of view, having all that money up front, before a ball is even kicked is massively important in being able to work out your playing budget. I expect the price to rise, but I think they will be very careful about by just how much.
the figues are rough bases on season ticket costing around £400 and the £600 if you were to pay casual ticket price (about £26 per game, to work it out accurately I would need to know the grading for every game for the season).it would be interesting to know what the average discount for season tickets in the championship is.The tweeks have already been made, it £3.50 a pint in lower barclay, pritty sure they are all season ticket holdersthe bottom line is, if the club thinks they can get away with it they will. only success will kill this thread.

22. I annoys me as well!!!!!!!!!!!I don''t have a season ticket but would venture to half of our home games & a 2 or 3 away games a season, but do know pick out what games I go to and the grading does have a massive influence on that.  I was going to go to the Watford game but when I found out it was £30 and on sky there was no way I was going to pay ''Grade A'' price to watch Watford.  Again the next game Swansea is a grade A and with the performace on Friday I think again alot of casual supporters will decide to stay away and save their money for a cheaper match.Looking at the casual ticket prices last year there seems to be around a 20-25 increase in price, also i always bought my ticket over the phone but know they want £1.50 a ticket which increases the ticket price even more. Will be interesting to see if were not playing too well to see if cheaper tickets come out.I do agree that the season tickets are good value for money working out around under £20 a game.
23. he might not of been at fault for the 3 goals, though beaten at his near post for the first and got a week hand to the 2nd (but wont take that away from him as it was a one on one, you expect the striker to score at this level)Alot of people have forgotten that he did spill the ball to give there play a sitter from 6 yards, thankfully he fluffed the chance but you would normally see them tucked away.
24. we had a really good opening Saturday of the season, moving 10 place up the league table to a respectable mid table, and off the bottom and out of the relegation zone.
25. I remember what the peterborough fans said when we signed him, a half decent player in league 1 but couldn''t make the step up to the Championship.I mean he captained Posh to Promotion but was sold on as he wasn''t in the team by the team that finished bottom of the Championship.i remember from when we signed him & what the posh fans had said I knew he would do a job in Lge 1 but was shocked that we let spillane go as history had shown he couldn''t cut it in the championship.
